I bought a fuel tank for my 04 Mercedes SL55 AMG from Luxury Auto Dismantling. I asked if their fuel tank was okay and didn't have any issues, especially the common problem of a broken baffle inside the tank. I told them that my fuel tank had this issue and I needed a fuel tank that didn't have any issues, especially a broken baffle. The seller said that their fuel tank was in perfect condition and didn't have any issues, especially a broken baffle inside the tank. I paid $750.00 and they sent me the part. I got the fuel tank on November 6, and it had a broken baffle inside the tank. They lied to me, gave me false information, and sent me a broken part out of state. I recorded a video with proof that I received a broken part and emailed it to the seller. After a few days and a few calls, the seller agreed to take the part back. According to the tracking number, the seller received the broken part on November 16. Today is November 19, but the seller hasn't refunded my money for the part. I got a used transmission control unit from this spot with a guarantee that it was the right part number for my ride while I was in *** seeing my mom because I live in ***. The worker assured me that the part number was a perfect match for my vehicle even after I asked him three times because the number didn't match the original part number that was installed in my ride. He told me yes it was and he gave me a 90-day guarantee which is worthless if the part is incorrect. When I flew back home, I installed the transmission control unit, reset the adaptations as they recommended after I called them, and my ride wouldn't shift. I must mention I've been a *** tech for *** the past. All you do is install a new TCM, reset it, and drive. But my used TCM smelled like something was burning once I installed this faulty transmission control unit and left me stranded. I had to pay a $250 toll bill to get this thing back home, and another $250 for a valve body so far not including the labor, and my ride still isn't running! I called the dealer to verify the part number they gave this wrecking yard gave me, and they assured me that that part number doesn't belong to my ride, which is a C32 AMG. The part number they gave me doesn't match my ride, which is a sports model supercharged $60k ride. When I called back up there, the owner got irate with me on the phone and started yelling at me even after I mailed him his part back. He told me I was going to pay for shipping every time he had to warranty it, which does me no good if the part is incorrect! He was also so proud to say he was the owner, and that's just the way it was for the 20 years that he's been in business. This spot has horrible *** reviews, and I'm reporting them to the ComplaintsBoard.com so you could be made aware that they're not a good spot to do business with.
