Smith Muffler & Brake

In July , I got my car fixed at Smith Muffler. They changed the transfer case for my 2006 ***. They said the repairs had a warranty. This August , my car had similar issues as last year. I called Smith Muffler and explained what was going on. The person on the phone said they would check it out, and if it was the transfer case they worked on before, it would be covered by the warranty. After their "diagnostics," they told me it was the encoder motor, not the transfer case, and that wasn't covered by the warranty. They said I had to pay $99 for the diagnostics and an extra $490 to fix my car. It took them two weeks, but the car still wasn't fixed. Their manager, Todd, was really rude and disrespectful every time I talked to him. Then Todd told me the problem was actually the transfer case now. He said I didn't have a warranty from 2020 and it would cost $1900. He also said the $600 I already paid wouldn't count.

My friend took my car to Smith's for repair on 8/19 for a diagnostic assessment. Got a call with the list of things that needed fixing. Gave consent to do the repairs. The guy, Darren L, Service Writer, asked for half the payment upfront - I NEVER BEEN ASKED THIS BEFORE. Even though I never paid in advance, I paid. I picked up the car on Friday, August 21. After driving for less than an hour, I called and asked what work was done because the car still has the same problems as before. Nothing changed. The guy asked if the check engine light was on again and I said no, but the car still has the same issues like reduced acceleration, lack of power, hard to turn the steering wheel, and now a loud hum from the engine. The guy said to bring it back. I immediately took it back on Friday the 21st. Picking up and dropping off the car was the first time I, Dr. ***, went to Smith Muffler for this. My friend got a call on 8/25 from Darren L (the Service Writer) saying there were 2 more problems they could fix and that nothing was wrong with the car. My friend asked why they didn't mention these things before and Mr. L said because I, ***, asked them to turn off the check engine lights when I dropped it off, and that's all they did. I NEVER ASKED THEM THAT. I DIDN'T DROP OFF THE CAR. The only time I went there was to pick up and return the car on the 21st. $1,696.78 later and my car is still messed up. This service was not good because Mr. L doesn't even remember who gave him the car and didn't offer any solution.
