I purchased a four piece living room set which was the floor model from the St. Catharines Leon's store.. However, not being someone who EVER buys off the floor or shelf, I couldn't resist a fair price. My friend and I examined the pieces carefully "with a fine tooth comb" before purchase and there was nothing wrong except a couple of threads that could be just trimmed off. I was very pleased and excited. Shortly after having it delivered I noticed about a half inch hole in the faux leather (vinyl) near the end of the arm of the chair. The chair had been placed in the corner so I didn't notice it immediately. I have no children or adults living with me and there has been no one near the furniture to cause any damage. I have been given the run around since I reported this (I also purchased this so-called 5 year warranty). I was told it was the discontinued and no other available to exchange with. I went online and found a chair in Mississauga that they could have exchanged it with the one I had. They insisted that I wait until their technician comes to "fix" it. This could NOT be repaired back to a new condition but the fellow did try his best. It is right at the front of the arm and is lumpy and oh so noticeable. I have taken before and after photos of this. I am devasted at the lack of customer service and complete disinterest. It breaks my heart because I was living with one couch with holes that was purchased in 1960. This "new" set was supposed to be a dream come true and financially the last furniture I'll be able to afford in my lifetime! It has been a nightmare. I am completely distraught as I was told the only thing they can do is give me a $50 credit in the store!!! What???!!! I will NEVER buy as much as a vase from this company again not to mention set foot in there. My friends and family will know of my experience and treatment as well as the newspaper. I have never been treated so horribly in all my years as a consumer. I am disabled and this is definitely detrimental to my health. So much so that I've had a friend help me deal and try to resolve this. All I wanted was what I paid for. Is that asking too much?
