LCBOrude staff

Review updated:

When shopping for Red Stripe beer, I noticed that a special tag (for discount price) was 2 weeks old. I asked the staff members if this was still valid and if not shouldn't it be taken down. 30ish year old feminine male staff member made comment: "Oh, so we're not perfect at everything, big deal !" I was very surprised at this comment and said: "Well, when you have a job, you should at least do it well."

The man actually said: "Yes, sir!", which I ignored. The female staff member kept quiet; when I returned to the store to get the manager's name, the female staff member was very helpful and respectful while the male staff member was standing around doing nothing.

I recommend to consumers not to use this store; use other LCBO outlets or even better go to the Québec side liquor stores where the customer service and friendliness is outstanding. Johnnie Walker is also $3 cheaper there.

at the location in north Burlington at Walkers line and Dundas. Very rude staff members there mostly. Not a pleasant experience being told to back my own stuff when that’s their job. Seeing workers not treat customers equally is cringeworthy. There needs to be better training for consistency of practice. They make us follow the rules so they should follow their own rules too. This location is so much worse than any other I’ve been to. It needs to be looked at from higher up the ladder. Now with grocery stores doing a great job with the sale of beer, there should be no reason for LCBO to be my go to spot anymore for beer. Maybe for wine or liquor it would make sense. They need to stop raising the prices too, they used to do a better job keeping fair and affordable. Customer service should be of more importance than making more money. I will not spend my money there unless I need to.

The new woman Manager is rude and seems racist towards the local ethnicity! I've seen her have manners to some people and none at all to alcoholic customers!

Should read ‘in observation of Canada Day the LCBO will be open ‘ You are in the Service industry and should be open all holidays. If you don't want to put forth a decent effort of consumerism make way those who will . I can only imagine why ther is never a suggestion box in any stores . Regards, Frustrated in Ontario

Everyone at this LCBO is courteous except a young woman named Gabrielle. She does not say thank you, expects you to bag your own purchases and seems that she is doing you a favour by taking your money. This is on a consistent basis. How this person got a job in customer service is beyond me. Nepotism perhaps.

I am amazed that the LCBO has gone through and refitted the store. Only the LCBO would manage to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and several months on a store refit to make it look much worse - why bother? Save the money on the refits and lower the cost of your products.

August 11/18 aproximatly 3:30 pm, I walk in LCBO located 37 King St E, Bobcaygeon, ON K0M 1A0
I put my purchase at the cash no one was in front of me. The girl (staff) wasstanding at the cash and were talking to people, I was standing there for 10 minutes patently then the girl (staff) telling me very rudly "Go to the next cash" thats all she said, NO apologies, then she turn around here she goes talking to the people again. I was shock never been treating like this before, so I went to the next cash pay and left .
About 30 minutes later I went back she was in the back, I told her colleage what happen earlier and ask what was her name, she said " her name is Laura and she is the manager she also said they do have lots of complains about her I thank her and left.
My request is that she should get consequances for the way she treats everyday customers.

Debbie McInnes (?) at the 512 Parliament LCBO in Toronto is rude, lazy and incompetent.

I went to purchase wine using change which was in amounts that are legal tender (see sec 8.2 of the Currency Act) and she told me any amounts in excess of $5 had to be rolled. This is nonsense and was merely here excuse to try and avoid counting change (ie she is lazy). She then told others behind me in line to go to another teller due to the "problem" I had created and even processed one person behind me in line who paid electronically. I ended up waiting for some time as she tried every way possible to avoid doing her job. When I questioned her on it (ie "when are you going to count my change") she claimed I was being rude to her! Ah the chutzpah of someone claiming I am rude by asking them to do their job while they are being rude and obnoxious to me. Is it a Union thing?

@CD999 Were you counting your nickels at rush hour at this location? I can imagine the frustration of the people behind you if this is the case. The other thing is you called the employee lazy, but you refuse to roll your nickels? Personally I would have counted them for you, but it would have been at the expense of others in a line up that seemed to be forming.

Larry Duffy works in Fort Frances. On. He demeaners one of his coworkers that i know of. He also hates natives and since he's been hired sits on his high horse telling people what to do.

I (through marriage) is his aunt. He has harrassed me by publicly announcing my name over the telecom when I go in. Trying to embarrass me. Yes I like my wine but he has the other employees running to him each time I enter the store so he can embarrass me again.

He is not a person who should be working in this industry. He is very controlling with co workers and customers. Please do something about this. We all live in a small town and do not need this control freak monitoring how much wine etc. what we buy. I like to stock up on everything I do not need some one telling his co workers that I drink large amounts of wine when I'm stocking up. My husband will be having a few words with him today. I hope you screen your employees better in the future.

You would have been sold the beer at the expired sale price had you wanted to purchase it. And you should keep your homophobic comments about the "feminine" male staff member to yourself. LCBO employees are easily identifiable by their name tags instead of being described with homophobic slurs.

"Well, when you have a job, you should at least do it well."

Well do you always do a perfect job or do you make mistakes. I am sure you make mistakes as well.

What are you doing in LCBO anyway, are you even old enough to drink?

Also it is against the law to serve customers who appear intoxicated Jimmy00. Maybe they refused to serve you because they thought you were loaded.

GTA_Girl, for someone going to college you sure don't act your age, they don't owe you anything when you are not making a purchase.

I totally agree. My mother and I were up there today looking for some empty boxes because I'm returning back to college, so I am moving back to the GTA. The cashier was completely rude with us saying that there was a sign to ask first if we could take boxes. The sign was very small with small print and it needs to be much bigger to see that it's there.

She said we were only allowed to take one box and I asked my mother "well, what's the point? If we're trying to take a few boxes, why don't we just go somewhere else?" And the cashier opened her mouth and said "well at least it's better than no box at all" which I ignored. My mother was then trying to find the biggest box and asked me to help her, so we carried on with regular conversation. The cashier kept interrupting us and I loudly, but politely, said "okay THANK YOU." I suppose she sensed my annoyance because her attitude completely changed and she was very nice with us afterwards.

Seriously, I'm never going back there. I've been to the same LCBO before to buy some coolers, and they were really rude then too.

Geeze...under-worked and over-paid workers. Perhaps some working for LCBO should try working at minimum wage in retail to really see how hard it is (I say some because the LCBO cashiers in the GTA are always very polite). Such jerks.

I was purchasing a few bottles of Forty creek and Smirinoff.
When the employee asked for my i.d she began to question it.
Clearly it's a picture of me and shows my age, identification, etc.
I also gave her my birth certificate.
When She refused me I asked to see a manager and I asked her why my i.d is not valid.

She replied with "We have the right to refuse any customer"
I simply Said it was ### and she should do her job.

She then grabbed my arm, grabbed my i.d waved it in my face and began to scream at me telling me how immature I am, And how I need to learn respect. As she wouldn't give my i, d back I grabbed it from her and asked her where I can lodge a complaint, She then told me in a very aggressive way to "get the ### out"

I told her she did not possess management skills to be working in that sort of enviroment and that I will return to get her name.

Im 20 years old, I should be able to buy all the alcohol I want according to the law itself.

I recommend no one to shop at the LCBO in tecumseh on manning.
    They're service is horrible.
And The manager there is a Class A ###.
