My husband & I purchased a Dawson power chair N Half in Longview, TX in 2020. The metal bars underneath the footrest broke within the warranty period. I went to La-Z-Boy in 09/07/2020 to explain the situation. The manager agreed to fix the chair under the warranty; however, they needed the AKC number to do so. I took the form to them in person. No response after that. I went back in to the store, and they said that they still didn't have the AKC number. The office clerk gave me her phone number so that I could text it to her. I then, took pictures of the AKC label. I texted two pictures to her. This was in March of 2021. The clerk told me that it would be a long time since their maintenance worker had quit. They had to hire and train someone else. I went to the store on June 17, 2021 to inquire about the part to fix the chair. The manager told me as soon as I walked up to him that they didn't have the part since I had still not provided the AKC number to them. They knew exactly who I was. They had my phone number; yet they did not call to ask for it again. They were arrogant and rude! They refused to even try to help. I am stuck with a chair that has a foot rest that permanently stuck in the raised position. We have purchased multiple recliners recliners from La-Z-Boy in as well as several couches, matching chairs, end tables, and occasional tables. Their handling of this case is inexcusable. I see by the number of complaints by the customers that this situation is very common.
Desired outcome: To have the chair repaired. To get replacement if they cannot or be refunded.
