I hired Johnson Storage and Moving LLC for my move from Georgia to Kansas. After the move, a couple in [location] contacted me. They had four of my boxes and they found me on Facebook. I reached out to Johnsons about the problem and they said they would fix it. They asked me to have the boxes shipped by [date] and they would reimburse me. I did as they asked and sent the receipt and proof of payment to them. However, despite multiple calls, texts, and emails, I have not received any reimbursement. I just want my money back. It's important to note that my current address is different from the address they delivered to.

My family moved from Long Island to *** on 7/10/2022. Unfortunately, it was a nightmare of a move using this company. They changed the amount per sq foot in my original contract from $3.85 per cf to $4.00, which was not what we agreed upon. We ended up having more sq feet than expected, even though I clearly informed the representative about our belongings. As a result, they charged us an additional $900. Moreover, they delivered our items late, despite the contract specifying that we needed them on a Wednesday. When I called to inquire, the person on the phone insulted me and questioned my ability to read. They demanded an extra $250 because they were supposed to stop at a storage unit across the street first. Initially, when I mentioned the storage unit, I was told there would be no extra charge since it was nearby. Finally, when we received our items, a day later than expected, we discovered that my good dishes, including teacups and saucers, were broken. My stemware, which included wine glasses and a martini glass, was also shattered. Additionally, my daughter's desk was broken, and our bedroom furniture, including my daughter's dresser and bedframe, had scratches. I am extremely disappointed with the entire experience. While I can understand going over on sq feet, the disrespect and attitude I encountered were completely unwarranted. Furthermore, the broken items hold sentimental value, as they were given to me by my grandmother and had never been used. My daughter cherished her desk, and now it's ruined. This move was a complete disaster from start to finish. I was deceived, treated unfairly, and overcharged simply because I am a woman.

I ain't complaining 'bout the cost of the move, but I gotta file this complaint 'bout the damage caused by 'em. I hired 'em for their ***, which means they were responsible for packin' and keepin' things safe. But when they finally unpacked and delivered everything, I found lots of broken stuff and smashed items, even some broken furniture. I know some things can get a lil' damaged durin' a move, but I was shocked to see that even items that needed special packagin' were completely destroyed. I'm talkin' 'bout special plates, tea *** vases, porcelain Victorian figurines that can't be replaced, and even a Vintage Singer Table Sewing Machine with a snapped wrought iron metal leg.

I was plannin' to report this claim to the company, but it seems like there's no way to email 'em. Their 'Contact Us' tab ain't doin' nothin'. I ain't gonna bother callin' 'em again 'cause they completely ignored me when I tried to get a date for deliverin' our stuff to our new home. We had to buy new couches to sleep on for 2 weeks before we finally got in touch with 'em. It's just plain awful.

On September 30 and October 1, 2022, the movers came to Catskill *** to load the truck and deliver the contents to ***. We weren't told that everything had to be in a box, even vacuum-sealed items. It was difficult to get them to confirm a pick-up and drop-off time. I had to call them the day before, and they said if they couldn't do it all in one day, they would have to deliver by 9 am. So, we had to pay $147 for a hotel room, the cheapest one I could find. When the movers arrived, they said they had to do it all in one day. Our contract stated that they would load on 9/30 and deliver on 10/1. Our rental didn't start until October 1st. Then they said they would have to deliver at 7 am on 10/1, but they showed up at 8:30. They charged us $600 more than the original quote. The mover said it was because of the boxes and a kayak, which was supposed to be included. When I called, I was told that ***, who set up the contract, didn't give us the correct information! They just threw things in boxes and loaded them onto the truck so quickly that we didn't have time to label them. Some items were going to storage, and some were going to an apartment. All of the movers spoke English, but they spoke Spanish 90% of the time. They used our bathroom without asking and laughed about it because one of them had a bowel movement. There was no soap for them to wash their hands, and they made a mess in the sink area. When I called to complain, they gave us a $100 discount on our bill. Then, when we asked the movers if we could keep the blankets on a few items we were storing, they said yes, but for an additional $100. I called the number in *** multiple times, but no one has returned my call. *** was very nice when I set everything up, but ***, ***, and the movers, *** and his two helpers, were very rude and condescending. They basically ripped us off $700 and made us spend $147 on a hotel room that we shouldn't have had to.
