I recently hired Modern Piano to transport my mom's 1925 Baby Grand Piano all the way from Fort Wayne, IN to Naperville, IL. Let me tell you, they had the best price and were highly recommended by Cleat at Sweetwater.

The two movers really took their time to carefully wrap and protect the piano, including the legs and bench. It was clear that they treated the piano as if it were their own precious family heirloom. They provided what I can only describe as 'white glove' care! Additionally, the movers were polite and showed great respect for my mom's home.

The piano was picked up on 8/22 and delivered on 9/15, well within the 30-day time frame they had promised. I received confirmation two days prior to both the pick-up and delivery dates, which included a three-hour window for the arrival of the movers. On top of that, the movers even called one hour before they were scheduled to arrive on the designated days.

The two movers who delivered the piano were just as conscientious as the ones who picked it up. I must also mention that the customer service representative, Misty, was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The quote I received matched exactly what I was charged, so there were no surprises there.

If I ever find myself in need of a piano mover again, you can bet that I'll be giving Modern Piano a call. They truly exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend their services.

I am absolutely thrilled with the service provided by Modern Piano Moving! My son was finally ready to have his own piano in his new home, after all the years of joy and music it brought to our family. However, I was completely clueless about where to even begin with the moving process. I reached out to my trusted moving company and even consulted music stores that sell pianos, but all I received was a simple recommendation to find an expert.

So, I took matters into my own hands and embarked on a meticulous search for a piano moving service from Chicago to St. Louis. I carefully examined the various options, considering their services, methods, ratings, and experience. But what truly made a difference were the reviews. I dedicated a significant amount of time scrutinizing online reviews, and let me tell you, they were worth every second!

Sure, I would have preferred a lower cost, but the level of professionalism and expertise they displayed made every penny worth it! Brad and Pat, they brought my piano to my home. I had a horrible experience with my last move and even had a nightmare the previous night before this move. I guess you can say my anxiety level was certainly high. When I saw just 2 men, all the padding they had for the piano and what I just call a dolly ( I'm sure that's not correct name) to move the piano I was instantly relieved. I know that may sound strange to some but it reminded me of my Uncle who moved my piano 10yrs prior. His company was Floyd Parker moving company, he has since passed. But it was only him and 2 elderly gentleman who came to my home with the same equipment as these two young men. Brad and Pat were efficient, courteous and professional. They were a joy to have in my home and immediately but my mind at ease. My baby grand was left to me by my father and I've waited a long time from my last move to have it back in my home. I appreciate your service and if I ever have to move my upright piano this is the company I will be using. I don't think 5 stars is enough. Modern Piano Company gets a 100 STAR rating from me.

I was movin from Florida to Tennessee and spent a considerable amount of time researchin piano movers on the web as well as gettin advice from local piano showrooms and piano technicians. One company name came up time and again for their professionalism, quality and dependability and that was Modern Piano. I called them up and within minutes knew that this company was passionate about their one and only business and that was movin piano's. I got a fair quote to pick up my baby grand, take it to storage and deliver it to me when I needed it. The guys that picked up the piano were on time, very friendly, professional and very thorough in packagin my piano so that it would be safely moved. My piano was in storage for almost 5 months (much longer than I had anticipated) but was delivered to me, on time as promised, in perfect condition and the movers were again very friendly, professional and careful with settin up the piano. Everyone in this company did a really outstandin job and I could not have been more pleased with their service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wanted their piano carefully stored and moved.

Everyone I talked to was really nice and helpful. They let me know when they were going to pick up my piano and gave me an estimated delivery time. The two drivers who came were super friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was with miscommunication. When I talked to a lady about the delivery, I told her that I would be out of town the day before the final delivery date. She said it wouldn't be a problem and that they were planning to deliver it before then. About a week later, I got a call saying that the piano would be delivered on the Saturday I had mentioned I would be out of town. I called back and the lady asked if I could find someone to be at home so they could still deliver it. I told her I would have to ask someone and get back to her. The next day, I called her again to say that my sister would be there for the delivery. The day after that, I got a voicemail from Chris asking if I had found someone to be at home for the delivery. I had to call back and talk to the lady I originally spoke with, and she said that the notes were in the record that I had called. Maybe Chris didn't check the records, I don't know. Anyway, my only suggestion is for them to improve their internal communication.

I was put onto Modern Piano by a musician from the Cleveland Symphony, and boy, did they exceed my expectations! We had just purchased a 1906 Steinway O from a family in Vermont and needed to get it all the way to Washington DC. Let me tell you, Daniel Moore was a godsend. He patiently answered all my questions and concerns, and even went the extra mile to coordinate with a local company to store the piano in Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks to fit our schedule.

When the big day finally arrived, Lou and Brian showed up ready to work. They brought the piano to our condo building and, let me tell you, it was no easy task. Our building is over 100 years old, and the elevator is as tiny as can be. Despite careful measurements, it turned out that getting the piano to the third floor was a lot more challenging than any of us anticipated. They had to remove the top and soundboard, which was a bit of a bummer, but necessary.

As a first-time piano owner, I was a bundle of nerves, but let me tell you, Lou and Brian's expertise and experience put me at ease. They handled that piano with such care and love, it was truly heartwarming. Before they left that afternoon, they made sure that our piano was in near-perfect condition, just as it was when they picked it up for its long journey.

I can't recommend Modern Piano Movers enough. These guys are the real deal. They treated our piano like it was their own, and for that, I am forever grateful. If you're in need of piano movers, look no further. Modern Piano Movers will get the job done right. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I don't usually write reviews, but I figured it might help others when they're tryin' to decide who to hire for movin' their piano.

So, I got quotes from 3 different companies, and even though Modern Piano was the most expensive, I decided to hire 'em to move our grand piano from Florida to Utah in May of 2020. Our piano tuner recommended 'em, and after doin' some research and readin' some reviews online, I thought they seemed like a good choice.

But let me tell ya, here's what they did wrong:
- They promised a climate controlled vehicle for the piano, but it ended up bein' delivered in a U-Haul. Not cool.
- Instead of keepin' the piano on one vehicle, they unloaded and reloaded it onto multiple vehicles before finally deliverin' it. That's not what they promised.
- And get this, they mistakenly unloaded the pedal assembly in Texas, so it was missin' when they delivered the piano. Talk about a major mistake.
- It took 'em another two whole weeks to finally deliver the pedal assembly. Like, seriously?
- When we asked if they would install the pedal assembly, they basically told us to find a piano tuner to do it ourselves. Not what we expected.
- And get this, the screws to attach the pedal assembly weren't even with it. They ended up findin' 'em in the piano bench. How unorganized can ya get?
- They didn't keep me updated on the delivery status of the pedal assembly. We had to keep contactin' 'em to find out what was goin' on.
- They didn't offer any sorta partial refund for all the trouble. Not cool at all.
- And to top it all off, no one ever bothered to respond to my complaints. Talk about bad customer service.

So, to sum up my experience:
- Modern Piano's customer service is just plain awful.
- They don't follow through on their promises.
- And worst of all, they don't take responsibility for their mistakes.

I hope this review helps others avoid the same headache I went through. Think twice before hirin' Modern Piano for your movin' needs.

I give this 1 star because Margie at the company was very nice. The drivers showed up at the end of their window, which was fine. But the problem started when the young boy Tyler came to the door and proceeded to measure off my piano with his feet. He was very young and didn't look strong enough, but I moved forward.

Tyler went back to the truck and I waited about five minutes. Then I went back out to see what was going on. Tyler was in the back of his truck by himself collecting blankets. I asked him, "What are you doing?" He said, "I'm collecting blankets." I said, "Boy, that looks like a lot of blankets." He said, "We take 17 blankets to wrap the piano." I was very skeptical as the truck was super small, not really a truck with no wheels, and I thought the suspension would not be great. But I continued forward.

I asked him where his partner was. He said he was in the front of the truck filling out paperwork. So I walked around the side of the truck. It was dark outside, and I looked in the window and saw him playing on his phone slot machine games. I waited a few seconds because I needed to clearly understand if that was actually what he was doing or if he was taking a break in between filling out his paperwork. But as I stood there for a few more seconds, I realized he was literally just sitting there playing on his phone.

I tapped on the window and said, "Excuse me, what are you doing?" He said, "I'm filling out my paperwork. Why are you asking? It's none of your business what I'm doing." I said, "Excuse me, but he's back there by himself. I'm standing outside in the cold. I've been waiting all day." He continued to be aggressive with me and said, "Don't tell me how to do my business. I know what I'm doing." I said, "Yeah, you're on your phone playing a slot machine game while he's back there by himself and I'm standing outside here in the cold." He opened the door, but very aggressively, and said, "You obviously don't know how this work is done and you obviously don't want your piano moved tonight." I said, "What? Are you kidding me? He's back there by himself while you're in the front of your car playing games and I'm standing outside alone." Aggressively again in tone and manner, he walked around the back of the truck and told Tyler, "Come on Tyler, pack it up. This guy obviously doesn't want his piano moved tonight. We're out of here."

I should've called the police as this was his tone of aggression.

I took this a month ago, mid-February, to time it on my move across the country. So this company really did a bad job of hiring a secondary company to do their small move in Los Angeles. Why they use this pickup truck with an attachment behind to transport these pianos is beyond my comprehension.

They are aware of the fact that I have a 6-foot Steinway grand that I was trying to be very careful with. I would no sooner have left my piano in the hands of these gentlemen than I would my child. I highly recommend that you do your research before you hire this company.

I ain't too happy 'bout the fact that they slapped me with an extra charge. Ya see, they were supposed to bring over the piano when my boy was away, but they had to postpone the delivery. Now, I get it, they got their own schedule to stick to, but they didn't seem too keen on workin' 'round ours.

Russ Vitt, the owner of MPM, lacks integrity. He is fully aware of the heinous act he has committed against our beloved musical instrument, which we have cherished as a family treasure. Rush Vitt speaks with a polished tongue, resembling that of a lawyer, employing tactics that seem to stem from a profession far removed from the realm of music.

I gotta say, I wasn't too thrilled with the whole experience of using Modern Piano Moving. They didn't give me much heads up about when they were gonna pick up and drop off my piano, and that really messed with my schedule since I work full time. It's like they didn't even think about how inconvenient that could be for someone like me.

But that's not even the worst part. When they finally delivered my piano, I noticed that the DampChaser control box was all busted up and just hanging there from the bottom of the piano. Like, seriously? Did they not notice that? And what's worse is that they didn't even try to fix it or make it right. No attempt at repair or anything. It's like they just didn't care.

Sure, the price was decent, I'll give 'em that. But when it comes to attention to detail, they really dropped the ball. I mean, if they can't even take care of something as important as a control box, then what else are they slacking on? It's just not worth it.

Overall, I gotta say, it was a big "meh" experience for me. I think next time I'll definitely be looking elsewhere for my piano moving needs.

The guy who runs this piano moving company, Russ Vitt, he ain't too smart when it comes to hiring his workers. They don't know what they're doing and ended up messing up the keyboard cover on our piano. And you know what? When we told Russ about it, he didn't even wanna use the insurance we paid for. Instead, he tried to pull a fast one on us with some quick fix that's just as shady as he is. I'm starting to think this dude never even bothered to get insurance for our piano in the first place. He's just taking advantage of the fact that we can't sue him 'cause he's in a whole 'nother state. Can you believe that? What a crook.
