Jerry Baker Bill for nothing

My friend, 92 years old and in a nursing home, received a bill that claims to be for 'Supermarket Super Remedies', $39.94 + $4 late fee. She has neither ordered nor received a book.

Payment due by 4/21/23.

I suspect that the Jerry Baker Co is using lists of victims for their scams.

I would like to report this company for scamming vulnerable people and I'd like to see an investigation launched and see this company taken down. I see many similar complaints by others.

Desired outcome: I would like to report this company for scamming vulnerable people and I'd like to see an investigation launched and see this company taken down.

We received a bill addressed to my mother for a book she didn’t order or receive. She died in 2020. The letter intimated that she had ignored all other collection attempts, but I can say with certainty that she received none. The book title is ‘Supermarket Super Products’. The bill totals $40.75 and includes a $3.00 late fee. A copy of the invoice is attached. I tried to access the website but only the home page works.

Desired outcome: Cancel the invoice

Jerry Baker Book I never ordered

Like many of the other people posting on this site, I've been receiving bills for a book I never ordered and never received. They now bill me for $42.34 and tell me that further collection action is set to begin shortly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Received a book that was never ordered. The book was sent back unopened. Just received a bill for said book claiming the payment is now past due. Never ordered the book, never opened the box, sent it back and am now told I'm late paying for something that was never ordered and I no longer have,

Desired outcome: I want this bill marked closed and paid in full, I also want to never receive another ad, letter, bill, book, pamphlet or catalogue from this company. I also want to be removed from any mailing list this company might have.

Jerry Baker Books

My elderly parents keep getting bills from Jerry Baker for books they did not order and did not receive. Now they are getting letters threatening to send the $40 past due bill to collections or risk legal action. I refuse to pay for something they did not every order or receive. I have already contacted their customer service, but I keep getting these notices. How do I stop this company? My elderly mother gets very stressed about their threats of legal action. How can this be stopped?

Jerry Baker Unordered book $40

This book arrived a couple of days ago looking legitimate in a large brown book mailer box. I believed my husband may have ordered it but as soon as I opened the top flap I realized it was another scam artist which may be making a fortune on elderly people, easily intimidated by threatening letters, etc.

This character, jerry baker, whoever that is must be shut down, fined and imprisoned. Plenty of people have complaints logged but apparently they're still running this fraudulent operation.

Any such invoice with the language of "$4.00 late charge will accumulate as long as payment is not received". Unbelieveable!

Am having similar problems with them. They sent me a Vinegar book without me having requested it. Due to sentimental reasons, my mother used to use some of the methods described in the book, I paid for the first book. Now they claim they sent me another book, which I never received, and are billing me for it.
I sent them a couple of certified letters already but am now done with them. I'm not paying any more money for something I never received nor wanted. I never asked for these books. In the last certified letter I told them that I was not going to reply to them anymore. Going to ignore their invoices too from now on!

Jerry Baker Book

My mother passed away in 2007. For five years since her passing, she/I have been bombarded with all sorts of junk mail. The mail trickle in for a while, and she/I have not received any for more than four years.
Today (July 2019) she/I received a mailing from Jerry Baker. Inside the mailer is a Business Reply Mail (BRM) card preprinted with my mother's Customer Number, Name, and Address. On the front of the BRM "Rush the Card back for your (underlined) Free Look and (underlined) Free Book! ". "Free" apparently means "just four installments of only $7.99 each, plus shipping and processing". Then they say they will send you the next book, unless you tell them to stop before they send it.
I tried to stop future mailing via their Customer Service on their website. I filled out all of the required information and the optional customer number, but I did not give them an email address. I tried to submit the form, at which time they declare "an error occurred" and a prompt to call their customer service.
1. Embedding a BRM card with an open ended subscription inside a mailer is unethical.
2. One wishing to opt out of their scam should no have to provide email, phone number, or any information that they can abuse or sell to other abusers.

The best way to get off your back is to file a complaint with the better business bureau, at
https://www.bbb.org/us/mi/wixom/profile/new-books/jerry-baker-0332-13018837
Start an official complaint there, fill in all information truthfully, give all the details you have, and they should cancel your "bill" just to save their bbb rating (which is much too high to begin with!). If you review other people's complaints there you'll find this exact scam repeated over and over and over.
We did that and it worked for us.

Jerry Baker Books sent without being ordered

I did order one book from this company. Now they send books and want payment when I have not ordered them. I wish to return the book at their cost not mine. I do not intend to pay for the book. As reported by another poor soul who was victim of this. It is merely a scam to get money from people who do not know any better. There needs to be something done about these people. They should not be allowed to do this.

Jerry Baker Unauthorized books

I am a totally disabled senior lady, on a very small fixed income and, like so many other seniors, I have a lot of medical bills, which I am barely able to pay. Today, August 15, 2018, I received yet another hard covered "how to" book that I never ordered. Tomorrow, I will bring it unopened, to my local US Post Office, mark it "REFUSED" and ask for documented proof of same. In he past, I have simply marked them similarly and put them back in my mail box. I received bills threatening collection agency action unless I paid for them, which I did in an effort to maintain my hard earned "excellent" credit rating. I refuse to continue to give in to his "Nazi" tactics. I not only will register a complaint with the Wixom Mi BBB, but also the Attorneys General of Michigan and my own state; I strongly urge other complainants to do the same. This man has got to be stopped! Anyone can go to the Jerry Baker site and request removal from his mailing list, I will do just that. By the way, businesses pay to be registered with the BBB.

Jerry Baker Unwanted books

Please do not send me books I do not want and did not order. There is an invoice attached, and I am not paying it, nor should I pay the return postage fee, since I am not keeping it. "undelivered" no thanks. Last week I got uncle pott's household hints in the mail. It is a $38.00 book, that I am not keeping. If I refuse to return the book, will I still be charged? I'll take it straight back to the post office, and explain this to them, even if I opened the box and return invoice included.

Jerry Baker Recieving books I did not request and am billed for

I received a book from Jerry Baker Living Well Books called "Suppermarket Super Products, " which I did not order and am expected to pay for or send back though there is no return postage included! I called their customer service and was lied to, saying that I signed a card saying I wanted the book...I DID NOT! I did buy a Jerry Baker book about two years ago, but I never, no not ever, signed for a another to be sent on trial! This is fraud. Here is the number I called.[protected]. The bill is for $40.02 which includes shipping! I'm very angry with these people...they should be stopped!

I received a book in the mail and had no idea what this package contained. There is a book inside by Jerry Baker; I ordered no such book no did I subscribed to his automatic preview terms. They have two toll-free numbers, and it is clear that the recording is probably his OLD wife. So now I guess myself and all these other people who opened this package are responsible for paying the postage to return to Old Jerk Jerry.
What a crook! Old Jerry and all his so-called employees. I am contacting my US postmaster in my city when I return this book to send back to this jerk.
All who complained should do the same and trust me the US Postal Service will handle this

This has been happening to my elderly parents. I called them, they had been sending them to her since 2014 without authorization, they would send pass due notices to them so they would just pay them. This is clearly taking advantage of the elderly. In order to find out the order number to return the book you have to open the package or find a way to pull the invoice out of the box without opening the package and once opened you have to pay to return.

Praying on elderly, scare tactics to make them pay for books and other items they never ordered. Bills threaten them with Collection Service, (in all CAPs), and legal action. My mother paid for some not realizing it is a scam. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am reporting them to every agency I can locate in her state and nationally.

The same thing happened to me. They sent a book I did not order. I went to the Post Office the very next day and sent it and the invoice back in the same box they came in. The Postal employee said there were a lot of these being sent back by people who did not order them. It was before Christmas. Today I got a second invoice from them. This is fraud and I am not paying for something I did not order and sent back! It is also a scam, and I think a lot of people probably paid it. Perhaps some think they may have ordered it. They are preying on innocent people and need to be put out of business. I am going to do everything in my power to stop them!

Jerry Baker Unauthorized orders

This past weekend I received in the mail a package with not much information on the outside. The card board package contained a book. One of the first things I noticed was a envelope inside that read invoice. I thought this was a Christmas gift I had ordered for my wife.

Now the really strange thing about this is I`ve never heard of this web site never have visited it until the day I got their contact information. I don`t no how they got my name address or anything
I never would order a product this way, in the first place I always pay for what I order first.

I did a search for complaints on line and found some where the person had ordered books from this web site, 2 years before. but just received a unauthorized order from them with a invoice just like I had, the book is way over priced at $37.50.

This other man had tried to contact them and never got a reply, and only has received past due bills from them. Now this is wrong, I would have sent the book back why mess up your credit rating for something you didn't ask for. Why should I have to pay for something I didn't order was his excuse, or pay for postage, I agree with him on that point

What if you need to apply for a loan, you may not get it or the interest rate may be higher. because of this unauthorized order. I have written them a email and have given them 5 business to reply. Told them if I don`t hear from them I`m going to file a complaint with my states attorney generals office.

I wonder how many times they have sent book out like this then the person just pays the bill after getting a few threating letters from this company. Now when they pay that get put them in the loop and they will start getting more books in the mail.

This is nothing more then a scam to get money out of you.

I recently received a unordered book from JERRY BAKER also. It came from a fulfilment center. I called C.S. and spoke with Stephanie (who had to get answers to my questions from her supervisor). At first I was told for $20 I could keep the book, then if I paid s/h I could keep the book. If flat out refused to pay one red cent, as I didn't order. I was told to secure the package and drop it in the mail box. WRONG! Upon checking with USPS it was not 1st class and needed postage or return authorization or P.O. would throw it away. Stephanie claimed I had sent back a card enrolling me in the series. I called back & spoke w/Sarah, explained the situation & and promised a complaint to BBB if this wasn't resolved. She claims I've been taken off their mailing list & a prepaid label will arrive in 10-14 days. It's been 8 days. If there is no label in 14 days, I WILL contact BBB on day 15!

Buyer beware!

It appears that when you select a book that would benefit you, you get redirected to a lesser selling title unknowingly until you receive the delivered purchase! When You call to explain the mishaps, it becomes your fault and problem...ok, they win! no more orders for them...

My parents have been clinically diagnosed with dementia by 2 physicians for 2 years. I was granted P.O.A. and guardianship February 14, 2019. My father passed away March 16, 2019. I have sent information in the mail and on the phone to support my claims.
Still this company claims that my deceased father owes $42.82 and we never found the Books that were supposed to be ordered and mailed to my father.
Now My deceased father is being threatened final delinquent and will be handled by some bill collector company.
I guess that since Jimmy Baker is deceased that gives this company the will to charge deceased people with mental illness.

Sharon, Good luck! Send the book back with some kind of delivery confirmation or else they will claim they never received it. They will probably keep sending you a bill over and over again anyway for the book whether you send it back or not. If you never requested it you legally don't owe anything for it, but they don't care about doing business legally anyway. If they start billing you you may want to follow my advice above about going through the bbb and having your account closed completely. It seems like that's the only way to get them off your back other than paying them their extortion fee. I can't believe they are still in business and operating in this totally illegal way. They've been doing it for YEARS! Basically it's organized crime disguised as a simple book company. They especially prey on seniors, which is totally scummy.

They are still at it: they must have mailed a book to a friend who has been legally blind for several years and are threatening legal action while continuing to send very small print post cards stting they are sending a free book but are actually stating that if one does not refuse the shipment a $32 book will be sent. Complete scam. No way she could have read the post card and since other people pick up the mail who knows if a book ever arrived. Everyone should send books back to them COD or something that would put burden back on them. Very hard on elderly widow with limited income who cannot even read to receive these threats and unwanted mailing (assuming they even sent a book.) Should have some consumer action taken against them

Jerry Baker Sending book unsolicitated then expecting payment

Ordered one book from Jerry Baker one year ago and paid in full at time recieved. I have since received another book from him unsolicitated and numerous bills asking for payment and threatening to sue me for $37.50. They did state they would not longer be sending me any products until I pay. I could go ahead and pay them but then they would feel they could send me other unsolicitated materials which I don't want and don't want to pay for. I'm not sure how to get them turned off from sending these books and expecting payment.

Got a card from them (Jerry Baker, Wixom Michigan) in late December 2015 stating that a gardening book which I never requested would be coming in several weeks. If I wanted to opt out, I had to send the card back PAYING THE POSTAGE MYSELF! So I just tore the card up. The book arrived late March or so. I didn't even open it---I refused it at the post office, never accepted it. Now I just received a "second invoice" from them asking me to pay their bill for the book which I never requested and did not even open. How stupid and criminial that is!

Hi, I am dealing with the same thing from this company. I ordered one book and paid for it. They sent me offers to belong to their book club but I was not interested and did not reply to that. Then to my surprise I received a book from them. I mailed it back with a note saying I did not want any more books and paid for the return postage myself. I did get several bills after that but it said to disregard them if I had returned the book. Now I've received a notice that they are referring me to their bad credit dept. I'm afraid that if I pay to $40+ for this book I didn't order than they will send me more and bill me for those as well after I send them back. I really want to report this fraudulent company. I plan to do everything I can to warn others.

It a scam, I just received a book today from them. The thing that gets me, is that I have never heard of his web site or ordered anything from then. I not paying for something I didn't order, I opened the package, thinking it was something I ordered for my wife for Christmas. There was an envelope with the word invoice hidden under the edge of card board.

I wrote their customer service about this, I`m giving them 5 day to reply, told them if I don`t receive a reply, then I`m filing a complaint with the State Attorney Generals Office here in CT. and the post office.

Now if you don`t pay that bill that they say you owe, that`s going to mess up your credit rating But if you do, it puts you right back in the loop and you`ll start receiving more books.

I have had to send a registered letter to other companies asking them to remove my name from there mailing list and they don`t have my permission to send me any more of their product ever again. You`ll need to do the same

I would send your State Attorney Generals Office a complaint tell them they keep sending you books if you pay the bill. And if you don`t then it`s going mess up your credit rating, and if you need a loan, that going to mess it up.

What Jerry Baker`s company is doing is against the law. If they hear from the Attorney General office they will listen, that what your paying taxes for, let them kick some butt.
