It's Just Lunch [IJL] Horrible Service

This is a terrible service, and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
My experience with IJL has been unconscionably poor!

Sarah, the Matchmaker, told many things that would occur once I joined--highly personalized and attentive service, blah, blah, blah.

She told me I would hear the next day about my new date. Of course, this never happened. I had multiple questions, attempted to call multiple times--calling Stephanie the coordinator, and Sarah, and did not hear from them until 4 calendar days later. The date was set up via an exchange of voicemails--no human to human communication occurred.

The coordinator was stupid enough to set up a date in DC, when both of us lived in Maryland--it never once occurred to her to ask, and set something up that was convenient.

Ok, so the first date happens. Its fine. He's a total bore. I had already scheduled my Meet and Greet for a few days later. I have questions post the date, because they misrepresented me to him, and misrepresented him to me. They got both of our information wrong--and I wanted to know what they had told him about me. Of course, I go through the exercise of calling--no humans ever, left multiple voicemails to the coordinator Stephanie, to the Matchmaker Sarah, no response.

Come to the Meet and Greet. Done by Krista, the President. A worthless session, where she asked meaningless and irrelevant questions, did not seem to understand my answers, never created any rapport with me, and the session appeared to be very rushed.

Two days after this Meet and Greet, I called Patty, the COO, requesting to cancel my service and get my $$ refunded. I spoke to her directly on the phone, told her that I had been a member for LESS THAN ONE FULL WEEK, and wanted out of the program. She said she would talk to Krista, and call me back the next day.

Next day, no response. In fact, nothing for one full week. I then received a generic note in the mail from Patty stating that she had put my membership on "hold" indefinitely, and never responded to my request for cancellation.

I then immediately left messages for Patty and Krista. Krista sent me a letter stating that "the contract says its not-refundable"!
I HAD BEEN A MEMBER FOR LESS THAN ONE FULL WEEK.
I thought the service was atrocious, anything but attentive and personal, and was completely disgusted with the product these people had sold me.

It seemed reasonable to me that any company with a modicum of service ethic would refund my $$. I have nothing nice to say about them. Why would they want to keep me as a member? They don't! ALL THEY WANT IS TO STEAL MY MONEY!

This organization is a scam and the DC office has terrible, not helpful, inattentive, unprofessional people in it.

DON'T DO THIS

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Poor Customer Service

Horrible customer service from a horrid woman named Debbie. Even 1 star is too good. I called with a small issue. Debbie was rude from the moment she picked up the phone. She was abrupt and acted like she resented having to help a customer. I asked her why she was being so rude, and she got even nastier. Then, an argument ensued. (I shouldn't have lowered myself). But I told her she needed to work on her communication skills and customer service skills. So far, I have left messages for Julie Novotny Lopez (a supervisor), Tia (a supervisor) and Melissa Brown, the president of the company. So far, you wanna know who has called me back? None of the above. Just Debbie, herself. She discovered that I was trying to file a complaint on her, so she called me back to politely harass me. Still waiting for someone in charge to respond to my complaint. This is no way to treat a paying customer. When I told Debbie that - she responded by saying, and I quote - "I don't take your money. I don't own the company". So it is obvious that she cares nothing about her employer or customers.

Update - finally got a call from a supervisor named Charlene. She was very nice and professional and said the situation would be dealt with. Nothing short of a harsh, strict course in Politeness and Courtesy 101 would be appropriate for Debbie. This woman should hang a sign around her neck that says, "Does NOT Play Well With Others".

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Harassment scam not a real job

The service costs between 3k-10k they guarantee a minimum of 6 dates...it's a load of crap! The only difference between IJL and Match/eharmony is they do the work...like sit behind a computer all day and call/email people to harass them to sign up. Does anyone really want to pay that amount?!? Doubtful. People have had to change their emails and phone numbers because IJL doesn't stop calling even after you state Not Interested...I would sue and give fake numbers emails unless you're really ready to sign up or really ready to be harassed. And they have scripts to tell you have wonderful YOU are and how people Are just like you! They're trying to hit the psyche and it's a load of crap. Don't be another fool. You can date as a busy professional. And you can find someone on your own...$3-10k, plus harassment and constant calls OR Eharmony/match and YOU decide, cheaper, and no harassment. Every review a person reads is correct about the harassment, the way they pick dates, the money is different for everyone. They constantly have hiring/firing bc it's a BS job and BS matches...the only thing that's not BS, is you giving away $3-10k wasting time and screwing yourself in the long run!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] It's Just Lunch Knoxville

Its Just Lunch, maybe you have read there ads while taking a flight from Mcghee Tyson or even on the radio locally but if you are thinking about using them run! It's Just Lunch in Knoxville is pretty much a scam and all they want is your money. They do everything via the phone and when you ask if you can come to their office to speak to someone they said its only "for members". When you ask a representative how many members they have in the area they reply with Knoxville is just a "hub" for Knoxville, Chattanooga, and TriCities however they cannot give a definitive answer to the amount of clients or members they have because they claim it is too dynamic. They said in any hub they have around 100-200 members well if I assume that their ratio is 50/50 that means there is 50-100 woman in their service in my area of 1.5 million people (not great odds). Then if I take into account the age ranges that would break it down to probably 10-15 in my age group without even getting into things like education, religious beliefs, morals, values, physical traits, etc. So based off their own numbers they possibly have 1 person to match me with. For anywhere from 700-10, 000 dollars this seems like a waste of money. The other thing that deterred me from It's Just Lunch Knoxville is that they do no checks and balances. They do not confirm their clients identity, they could have a criminal record or they could even still legally be married. I work for a national lab in the area and I cannot personally take a chance on dating someone with a criminal record. I'd love to use a service that is local and does check people out and is for more serious people than someone who creates an online profile at 2 am, however this is definitely not for me nor with their clientele do I think anyone should turn to them. You are better off with Craigslist than this joke of a service. They do the same amount of checks and you don't waste thousands of dollars.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Fraudulent Company

It's Just Lunch, if you have flown you might have seen them advertising at McGhee Tyson or possibly even on the radio and if you are thinking about using them, run! They pretend to be in Knoxville however they do not have a physical location you can go to and they have little to no members in the area. They use Knoxville as a hub for Knoxville, Johnson City, and Chattanooga however they do all their sales and joining of their membership of the phone. They do not verify any information all they do is want your money. When you call the 1-800 number they cannot give you any information regarding the office in the area its all generic answers. They cannot answer how long they have been in the area, they cannot answer how many members they have in the area because they claim it is too dynamic. I work for ORNL and cannot date someone with a criminal past and yet they do no checks and balances on their members who join once again they just want your money. They act like they have an office locally however you cannot speak to someone locally and cannot visit their office because its "only open to members" however you cannot find a physical location like you can in other cities (i.e. Nashville). The representative I spoke with said they had 100-200 members in the area which in an area of 1.5 million people (which is not good at all) so lets say the membership is 50-50 so that means there is 50-100 women, now if I break that down into ages that means they have 10-15 women in my age group before we even break down height, education, religious beliefs, activities, morals, values, etc. So they hypothetically might have 1 person that could possibly fit what I would like to date and their prices range anywhere from 1000 upwards to almost 10, 000 dollars. Sounds like a scam to me (at least in Knoxville and East Tennessee).

Please look at WATE.com at Kingston womans allegations against them along with 2 other claims with consumer affairs along with a class action lawsuit against them in New York.

I would love to use a dating service because I want to date a professional that is more serious than a 2am profile on POF however I'd like to meet someone who has been verified and join a service that has a lot more potential and that has a location locally! Last thing I want to do is drive 3-4 hours to Nashville or Atlanta there has to be good single professionals in an area of 500+ thousand people in Knox County. There are so many games in dating, especially online however you are better off using the internet over IJL atleast there are a good number to pull from, if it doesn't workout you are not out thousands of dollars, and they can lie just as much on IJL as they can on craiglists!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Rip Off

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money

I wish I researched this service more before dumping my money blindly into it.

I join the Sacramento, CA area in August 2013 for $2, 000+ because I did not want to spend all of my extra time online combing through profiles and creating my own. The lady who did my intake was wonderful, positive, and said that she had many men in my area that would love to meet. I was thrilled!

One year later I have been on six horrific dates. The joke with my friends is "Just Show Up" and see what new material I will have for them when I return.

I have had at least four different dating directors who all have a very different take on what my preferences are. I asked for an educated, professional man, 40-50 years old, at least 6 feet (I am 5’10 and like to wear heels), loves to travel internationally and has time available for friends and family activities.

I really want to go through each date, but it’ just not fair to the guys because they did nothing wrong. Except for date #3 whom I really liked and went on a second date with…. then I stared doing the math and realized he wasn’t 48, he was 58! He lied to me and the service. That caused significant concern for me and I started questioning my safety and the accuracy of verifying the men.

Oh, and I of course have to mention the man who I was told was in Law Enforcement. He was a night security guard whom lived with his mother and does not own a passport or went to college.

I have never been so insulted and felt so undervalued. Dating is hard enough, but this service makes it atrocious. They didn’t listen or act on any of my preferences, they don’t understand my region and how our commute works, and I have asked for a change to the East Bay area hoping for a better match and nothing. Recently I just got another call from my fifth dating director and he said the man was 5’9" and encouraged me not to get hung up on a few inches.

Yup I am done. The good news though! I met a wonderful man on OKcupid.com. He exceeds my preferences by miles and is just darling. And it was for free!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Unreliable Match making service

I have signed up for a $1500 package which promised to give me a minimum of 3 dates . During the interview, The consultant, Vanitha had verbally promised to give me 3 - 5 dates in actual. Trusted her, I signed on the dotted lines and paid up.

The two dates they arranged were disappointing. Putting the looks aside, our characters are very different. It is within the perimeters I had agreed during the interview, so they said. Yes, that is because I think I should not narrowed down my choices. I should be more open to my preference . I prefer guys who have their quiet side and can be active at times, spontaneous, Having said this, that doesn't mean they can match me to anyone that comes down the pipeline..

Both Like movies, age matched, height matched, live travelling...Is that all they can do.? Anyone can do match making like that. Why need them, who are supposed to be professional. What is the purpose of having that face to face interview ? Just for them to hard sell packages? Or for them to understand us in person so that they can arrange the most suitable match? I am obviously not the introvert type, why do they matched me with someone who prefers to study, doesn't know the roads well as he doesn't go out often.

After the first nightmare with a guy who have stained teeth as he is a smoker, I've decided I do not want any dates with smokers as I have only 3-5 chances for dates. And guess what they are trying to arrange for me on for my third date. a 57 year old smoker. Are they listening to me? No more smokers.!

Having two disappointing mismatched dates, I raised my concern and requested them to arrange for two more dates for me as Vanitha had promised. They refused and said had to abide with the contract.

On top of mismatching my two dates, they did not honour their verbal promise to me. A promise is a promise, be it a verbal one. I understand that is package deal for 3 dates, but if Vanitha has not promised me for 2 more, I would not have signed up. $500 for a date and we have to pay our own bills? And they are not even professional !

What to do, myself to blame in believing them. The consultant who ranged me for the 3rd date kept asking if I would meet the 57 yr old smoker, I said if only if they will honour their promise to arrange two more dates, I will take the chance, for I don't trust their "professional" judgement anymore.

I feel cheated. $1500 just to see three mismatched dates and that price doesn't even include the cost of the meal! What have they got to lose to arrange two more dates for me. After all they don't need to pay for our expenses for the dates. And the main thing is, Vanitha promised she will.

I have also heard from my other friend who took up the $2500 package, they are not following up on her closely, diligently, arranging dates for her.

For those out there considering IJL, forget it.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Worst service ever

The company Its Just Lunch IJL company offered personalized dating services. After I sent them payment in amount of $2, 000, which was like the membership fee on their website, I never received any confirmation email or other instructions. I have no idea what I needed to do next. I called their customer services, but they refused to speak with me and hung up in the middle of the conversation. Please leave comments and share your views about this website. Thanks.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Total Scam-Worse Matchmaking Service

I am a 55 year old single busy professional woman who signed up with It's Just Lunch in November 2012. I clicked on their website at http://www.itsjustlunchphillysuburbs.com because I live in the Phila suburbs and that is where I wanted to date. There is (supposedly) a Phila office but I made sure to call what I thought was the suburban Phila office. I paid $2700 for a membership that included a personal interview ($200) and 5 dates @ $500 each. Scam #1, there is no suburban Phila It's Just Lunch office. I am not sure where my 'dating director' lives but I can guarantee you it's not in Phila. She knows nothing of the city and refuses to listen when I try to explain the incredible hassle of traveling through the city at rush hour. Scam #2, I am told I have to accept dates who live in New Jersey and Delaware even if I do not want to. Scam #3, I am told I have to accept these out of state dates because my contract states "Philadelphia." Apparently, New Jersey and Delaware are in Philadelphia. Scam #4, I have had 3 dates so far and none of them have been in "suburban Philadelphia." Scam #5, at my personal interview I discussed what I was looking for in a man. When I asked why they were matching me with these long distance men, I was told because I might fall in love and want to move, and, she wasn't kidding... Scam #6, they 'googled' me during my personal interview to make sure I was acceptable. (They were very clear that they don't do background checks - a word to the wise.) I won't even go into the quality of the creepy men I have met. Let's just say the best was a wife-stabbing alcoholic. Apparently, they didn't google him. I did and the Phila Inquirer and New Jersey newspapers covered the stabbing episode and subsequent arrest extensively. In summary, I can't believe I have been scammed by a company that's been touted by Forbes, Wall Street Journal, The Today Show, Oprah and others. I really don't understand this completely unacceptable level of customer service. I was assured in my personal interview that they had plenty of quality men my age - well, maybe they do, just not in suburban Philadelphia.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] It's Just lunch (IJL) Singapore - A PROFESSIONAL SCAM in SINGAPORE. DO NOT join this service.

I recently closed my case with ‘It’s just lunch’ Singapore (IJL) at the Singapore Subordinate Court. So I just want to share my experience with anyone who might have the intention to join this service; this is my warning to you: DO NOT TRUST THEM AND AVOID THEM IF YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE TROUBLE AND A NIGHTMARE DATING EXPERIENCE - see my case below.

I joined IJL in Nov 2012, paid the full amount of $2, 568 for a one year contract with 14 dates. Actually I did not really want to join this service after my face to face meeting with one of their consultants due to so many complaints I found on the internet, however she kept calling to hunt and recruit me. When I raised my concerns regarding my doubts she gave me such confidence and assured me that their database had more than enough suitable matches for my requirements. Moreover she confirmed firmly all of the men on their database were serious about relationships and nice gentlemen. If they are just looking for fun or not qualified they will not take them in as a member and they do verify their profile if they are found out to be lying! She insisted to offer me help and promised to find a match for my specific requirements. I was convinced by her sweet words and after meeting her at least after 2 times in person. She just knew how to play on a woman’s psychology so well, her face just looked so sympathetic, trustworthy and she seemed to be a professional match marker. But that trust lead me to the most foolish mistake that I ever made and from there my nightmare dating started.

I went through two dates that were arranged by them and both turned out to be ridiculous, lousy and ‘waste of time’ dates! The first man came late without informing me; disappointedly he had nothing in common with me. Likely IJL just picked up any random man who was available to date with me! There was no follow up calls from IJL after my date at all. I had to call them and left my name but they did not bother to call me back. This means they just hunt you when you are not yet a member but when you are a paid member they do not care for you because you are just totally in their entrapment!

My second date was a nightmare date. The man did not turn up until I called him. He said he was on bed and not informed of the date with me from IJL that particular day. He turned up 45 minutes late in a scruffy T-shirt. He then told me he is just looking for fun! He was not interested with the service any more but he was rejected for a refund from IJL. He did request that they do not arrange anymore dates for him but the staff of IJL still kept calling to insist that he turn up for some random dates! I am sure if you were in my shoes at that time and heard those words, you would understand how bad I felt. I had to pay a big amount for this service only to be arranged to meet a man looking for fun! It also strongly proves that this company is really unprofessional and unreliable. They do not consider the clients requests. They did not take note of my feedback from my first date, to please arrange a proper 2nd date for me. The fact is they do not have enough suitable men for all their female members, so they just try their best to find any man to show up for a date to fill in the numbers for the contract regardless of matches. Their consultants know nothing about match making, they don’t have enough experience about matching and they are just working like sales persons trying to trap as many clients as they can and earn their commission.

It took sometime to bring my case to the Small Claim Tribunal which was found inconclusive, after that I was determined to bring them to the Singapore Subordinate Court. At the court, I called them a professional scam, and when they tried to defend themselves; they said “the behavior of male members is out of their control”. Meaning if a man comes late or does not show up, or is looking for fun or bad behavior they can’t control it! That also means that we are as paid members to have to carry this risk with their service. If you are lucky enough to meet nice guy or you are in bad luck, you may have a bad date like a man that never shows up or late or misbehaves! These risks are not their fault their problem and not their obligation as a professional match making agent. This is adsolutey not an acceptable answer!

Only when I asked in front of the Judge “ so why at the consulting meeting, did the consultant not tell me the truth that I have to take risks when I joined the service and be frank with me by telling me that my date might be late or not turn up or might be looking for fun! Instead she just convinced me that all her clients were nice gentlemen, serious and qualified! They shut up after this comment and the Judge allowed me to claim back a portion of my original investment.

I did a bit of digging around on the net and found many women - just like myself (in Singapore, Thailand, and USA) - who had been ripped off by IJL. I was one of the lucky ones as I got part of my money back, but many more didn't and the company is still operating to this day. There will be a big outcry about this company before long and I want to warn everyone not to get involved with them because if you do, you stand to lose a lot of money only to get back trouble and grief. I knew some other woman like me where the date did not turn and no calls from IJL for a few months, or even they arranged non suitable men for dates. So to all ladies who are thinking of joining this company, I honestly tell u don’t waste your hard earned money and your time in this scam. You can use that money for travel or donate it to charity, which is better than supporting this kind of nasty service existing.
Finally, As an ex paid member of IJL in Singapore, and on behalf of all members who were victims of this nasty service I would like to “ thank” the owner who established this lousy service. She did a very good job in creating a very professional scam dating agency! Spend some of your time and search how many complaints are pertaining to your company online!

Ms Lena NGO Thi Len - Your matter has been resolved amicably at the Courts where you have received your portion of what the Judge felt you deserved. It was an amount that was much LOWER than what you had expected as the Judge reasoned that our company has done our part in discharging our duties. We have already let the matter rest and are moving forward with our thousands of other clients that we have continued to serve for the last 9 years. It is unfortunate that we have to part ways with you but it is the best solution for the both of us. We wish you well and we hope that someone really sees the real person that you are and appreciate you for it. We are taking the liberty to name you as you are no longer our client who's identity we have to protect. We are happy to bring this post down if you bring down yours.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] It's Just Lunch, It's Just a TOTAL SCAM

It's Just Lunch is a fraudulent company and a total scam! DO NOT SIGN UP! Dealing with this company is very frustrating, time consuming and more importantly, stressful. They come across as genuine in the beginning, but once you give them money, they leave you in the dust. The company is dishonest, disgusting and horrible.

I signed up with the company because I was told that I would have 4 dates within 4 months and that I would be working with one representative that would help me with the entire process. In addition, I was promised a date with a certain person, which is what attracted me to their business. This date never existed. It was a total lie. I did indeed meet with one date, but it was not the person I was promised. Apparently, he was "lost" in the system the day after I signed up. Did he even exist? The first date was okay, but immediately after that, I was totally ignored by the company. I was then switched to 6 different representatives within 2 months that kept blowing me off week after week. Then, I was scheduled for a second date (almost 2 months later). This date was confirmed. However, the date never showed up at all and I left a very important business meeting to meet with this potential date. It's Just Lunch never informed me that it was not going to happen. Immediately after this happened, I emailed 3 different people at the company and not one person emailed me back. I called and no one would take my calls from the New York office. In fact, they were purposely ignoring my phone calls. I had my assistant call from her cell phone immediately after I was told my contact was unavailable. Surprisingly, in a matter of half a second, she was free to talk. I was totally blown off (once again) and there was no apology.

This company just wants clients to sign up, take their money and after one initial date they blow you off. I even offered to take a half a refund from them (for only going on one date and for all the headaches and stress that I went through for 3 months), but unfortunately, it went upon deaf ears. This company doesn't even have the decency to refund their unsatisfied customers, even if it is only half. I am absolutely disgusted with their customer service, deceptive business practices and outright disrespect for people. When calling my credit card company, the representative told me that she has had many complaints about this company and that they should be sued and out of business. Save your money and your time. They do not have any inventory and will take your money and run!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Horrible Customer Service

I really dodged a bullet here!
I was shocked a lack of professionalism and customer service this company displays!
I filled out a "request more info" option from their web-site and received a call the very next day. I'm thinking "nice, " I appreciate the prompt response. That is where the perceived great costumer service ends. I was asked a series of questions about myself and what I was looking for in a person. (again, all good...so far)
Booked an appointment to find out more. I wanted to see the operation, meet the people I would be handing $2200.00 to. Then and only then would I decide if this was a wise investment. I then starting my online research. I wanted to see what others thought of their experience with IJL Seattle. I was hard-pressed to find any good reviews. (1 in 10 if that) Post after post after post on multiple boards stated the same horrible experience; many specific to the Seattle office. ...On and on I read.
I called to have a discussion with the Rep with whom I had scheduled the appointment to discuss my concerns. What I got was one of the hardest sales pitches I have ever received with a ridiculous defensive attitude. You would think I called her up to insult her mother!
I told her I was still considering signing on the dotted line and paying for the service, I would just need a couple testimonials from REAL people who had used their service and would have to think over my decision. II respectively asked that when I come in I am not pressured to commit at that time. I was literally told that if I didn't commit and pay upon my arrival to the appointment I need not come in. Really!? This is how you run your business, by threatening your potential clients? I am a professional woman with a 6-figure income. I don't even buy a coffee pot without checking out the manufacture and the consumer reports. Yet, this woman thought she could strong arm me with her silly, completely transparent sales pitch.
The sad thing is, had my concerns been addressed in a respectful and kind manner. I probably would have taken the gamble, kept the appointment and eventually paid the $2200.00. Instead I'll take my $ elsewhere.
Do your homework. Ask the hard questions. Do as I did and read other's experiences. Save yourself the heartache, not to mention $2200.00.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] misrepresentation

I signed up for this very expensive matchmaking service $3, 000. I got 4 very incompatible dates and then date #5 was married. He had recently separated from his wife after 30 years. I was told that he was in the process of a divorce.. He was not. In time I found that this was his second separation from his wife. This company does not screen anyone or verify any information. The last date I had was supposed to be 64 years old. I did a free check online and found out that he is 67! I will be trying to get my money back. These people are frauds.

An age difference of 3 years in 60+ gets you unravelled but you'll haplessly drop three grand to meet a man? Geez...don't they have a Borders near you? Do you have any idea how many books you could buy for 3 grand - and how many dates you could get in those trips to Borders?

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Unprofessional, liars and unethical practice

DO NOT SIGN UP for It's Just Lunch Singapore. Should be called It's Just a SCAM. For a high end dating service their staff is completely unprofessional and a bunch of liars. Their turnover is so high. I must have gone through 7 dating consultants which says something about their practices.

They pursued me for years and sold me a bunch of promises. Once they got my money it all changed. They NEVER return your phone calls. There is no rhyme or reason to their matches. They also deceive you as far as supply and demand of eligible men in my age group. I wish I had read the reviews and completely regret joining. It is not about the cost but their failure to deliver and lack of professionalism. You are much better off with the mainstream dating sites such as eharmony or match.com. BEWARE: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS.

It’s Just lunch (IJL) Singapore - A PREFESSIONAL SCAM in SINGAPORE. Do not, I repeat, Do NOT join this service.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Completely unprofessional

DO NOT sign up for It's Just Lunch in Singapore. They are supposedly a high end service, more like just high price service. The problem is there is NO SERVICE. The staff are completely unprofessional and there is turnover extremely high. Each time I call I get a different dating rep. I must have gone through 7 or so, can't keep track anymore. They are a bunch of liars and promised things to get my business. They don't have the decency to return phone calls. Look at all the complaints all over the internet, not just in Singapore but around the world. I wish I had checked them out before I signed up. Completely regretted the treatment and DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone. You are better off doing another online service.

Hi Anisa, your company is a scam. i have taken you guys to court, and to date, have not received the refund which court had granted me and it has passed the due date.
funny that you talk about anonymity when you do not even attend mediations and court proceedings, and instead send a representative on your behalf. shame on you and your team for such a lousy service!

It is interesting that this anonymous writer would rather go online than resolve the situation with a real person from the IJL office in Singapore. It could be that this writer's "issue" has already been resolved amicably and professionally but because of some inexplicable, emotional reasons, this person insists on going "public" while hiding his/her own identity. We believe in protecting all our clients' privacy and we invite this writer to call our office by speaking to our Manager, Myrene Mallari at [protected] anytime between 10am and 7pm. If this matter has been resolved, we ask that this writer takes this unfounded posting, down.

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Company

IT’S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM, IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM, IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM, IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM... Ask me how I know, I USE TO WORK FOR THEM.
I got tired of Lying to clients about matches. It's just lunch, tells clients they match based on common Interest, which is a LIE! It's Just Lunch match clients based on availability. They train these people to make dates to meet their quota, if you don't meet your quota, you are FIRED. The management staff is HORRIBLE, if they don't like you, you're FIRED. This company has been in business for 21 years, and at the corporate office (which is located in Hallandale, Florida) they're only 4-5 employees that have been there 4 years. I was there for 2 months before I got up and walked out, but during the short time I was there, It was 12 employees either FIRED or Quit. I have never worked for a company with such turn over. DO NOT ALLOW the Dating Specialist to convince you they have matches for you, or you're be dating all the time, or they're going to set you up with people that you really want to meet. IT WON'T HAPPEN! THEY DON'T DISCRIMINATE IS TRUE, BUT THEY BRING CLIENTS ON KNOWING they won't be able to get them out on dates. They bring on clients that are BLIND, HANDICAPPED, CAN'T HEAR, ARTISTIC, MENTALLY CHALLENGED, etc. Now, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with people with disabilities, but if you are a perfectly healthy individual without any disability, would you really PAY a service to send you out with someone that has a disability? With It's Just Lunch, if a client is disabled and you need a date, the disabled individual will be your date. They won't tell you the client is disabled, but once you get to the restaurant you'll certainly find out. I have NEVER worked for a company with such POOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS. They Train their employees for ONE WEEK, and then you're off. You're off to deal with angry clients another Dating Director had, Dealing with territories you nothing about, dealing with clients with no dates, and when you ask for help, they tell you, NO EXCUSES, CONVINCE THEM TO STAY, AND CONTINUE DATING WITH US! IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM, IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM, IT'S JUST LUNCH IS A SCAM!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Lies and Deception

It's Just Lunch used deception to have me type in my name at the top of the page of the online "paperwork" that the IJL employee promised to "walk me through" during our phone conversation, but didn't. Once I printed the "paperwork", it turned out to be their contract. Per the contract, I discovered that the Client has several business days to cancel the agreement for a full refund. But when I called the next morning to discuss my cancellation, the "director" said that they never do refunds. The MasterCard Disputes Dept. tried several times to contact the IJL Corporate Office World Headquarters for me, to no avail. The IJL Corporate Office does not take calls, only voicemail messages promising to call the Client back.

My review comes from the perspective as an employee of It's Just Lunch. I worked in the Milwaukee IJL office as a temporary employee, basically to answer the phones and do various projects around the office. Never, ever in my life have I worked for a more dishonest, classless, horrible company. I always wanted to answer the phone "IT'S JUST LIES" because I was outright told to lie to people. I did not do any of the matchmaking, nor did I call the clients to tell them about their prospective dates, but I did have to answer the phones only to be screamed at because the person they met wasn't at all what they wanted or were told they were going to be meeting. When I did reminder calls, clients would often ask me to refresh their memory and tell them again about the person they were going to be meeting. I was not allowed to tell that information so I would have to say that the person's file was in the director's office and they were in a meeting so I couldn't go in there and someone would call them back, which of course, no one ever did. Also, if a client called to complain about their date, they were deliberately not set up again for a few weeks because they complained! I could never understand why people who had that kind of money would spend it on lies and deception, but of course you never know going in to something like this. When people tried to get their money back and cancel out of their contract in the allotted amount of time, refunds were never given with the excuse of "we don't accept phone calls/faxes/letters as the appropriate way to cancel." I felt so bad for all those people who spent their hard earned money on pure lies. In all fairness, the "directors" can't give you what they don't have. They don't have good looking, smart, funny people to set you up with, but they will sure tell you they do to get your money. After my temporary position had ended, they offered me the job but told me not to tell my temporary agency because they didn't want to have to pay the fee that would come along with hiring me. I signed a contract not to do that and so did IJL! They are liars, scammers, horrible deceptive people and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. The amazing part is that they are still in business and clueless people are still giving them their money. Seriously people, stay away!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] Stay away from these guys

I signed up with two matchmaking companies this year and the two agencies were night and day different. I'm having a very positive experience with Cupid's Coach, and not so good with It's Just Lunch. I'm here in Southern CA and the IJL matchmakers are all in Florida. They've never met me and they just seem to be throwing me together with just anyone.

They took my money and asked me what I wanted in my dates. I said thin and trim, that's about all, just thin and trim. All my dates were fat. I told them I was not happy and wanted a refund. "HA HA HA, NO you can't have a refund, we'll just send you out with more [fat] dates." Horribly expensive and not much better than speed dating, which is only $30.

It has been a complete waste of money and time. It so expensive! If you sign up for a long-term membership remember they only have to set you up on 5 dates. They will sell you a great picture of what they will do for you and then you could be like me forced to meet up with a date that you would rather run and hide from. Oh ya! There are some weird and very unattractive people out there and if you sign up with It's Just Lunch you could be exposed to having a date with them!

It's Just Lunch [IJL] - Blatant Consumer Fraud

I had never used any type of dating service before was hesitant about putting my personal information online, and the advertisements for It's Just Lunch (IJL) that I heard on the radio, made it sound like a great option for me. I made an appointment in early August 2011 with the Milwaukee-based IJL branch. I was interviewed, decided to join, and was charged...

It's Just Lunch [IJL] - Unprofessional & unreliable matching services

I am taking Its Just Lunch Singapore to court. I hesitated during my first meeting at their shabby office, and I did not join them. Lots of hard sell, pressure phone calls from them followed, and they persuaded me to meet again ' to 'find out what's stopping me from joining them''. On my second meeting, I raised my doubts to the consultant, and she...
