I spent 3.5 hours creating an ID.me account. It was trying to send text messages that I never received. Finally had to do a chat, because there's no phone number. First I had to deal with the AI Roy, then with an agent who requested I redo everything the AI had me try. What a waste. I don't know what I did but I finally received an email stating the account was setup(?). Now, it won't connect to anything! I think I will sell my Treasury bonds before the deadline, get a phone number for SS, and forget about ID.me!
Recommendation: If you can do a workaround to ID.me so you don't need it (i.e. phone number) DO IT!!!!
