If I could give this company less than 1 star I absolutely would
If I could give this company less than 1 star I absolutely would. I cannot believe a company that operates so incredibly inefficiently can land so many government contracts. I Have 100% valid information which I've entered on their site as a requirement of Colorado Unemployment. They have told me I "we can't verify you with that phone number please enter a home phone or an alternate associated with your home address" ok. Who has a home phone anymore? Additionally I have had this exact same cell number in my name for 15+ years. I have also lived at the same address for over 6 years. So I go through the process to addd additional documentation and I used my valid Colorado state ID my health insurance card and a vaid statement (less than 90 days old) from my bank as those are the only acceptable documents I have available. 3 separate times I've waited well over 5 hours to get a video chat and each time my bank statement or my social security card or a medical bill have been rejected and then you're just back to square 1. You wait 5 hours or more just to be told "sorry better luck next time" this is insane. I haven't been able to access my completely legitimate Unemployment benefits because of this for ALMOST 3 WEEKS! I'm on the verge of being evicted, haven't been able to pay bills or buy food. I've also e mailed ID.ME 4 or 5 times only to receive a response several days later saying they are sorry and working "diligently to get caught up and a support member will be reaching out shortly " after 3 weeks I haven't heard a single word. I've been in contact with the Colorado State Department Of Labor daily and they too have voiced multiple issues with this company and their inability to operate effectively or remotely efficiently. As a result thousands of people are stuck without their desperately needed benefits and all the company can say is "we're working on it" this is really an awful situation that only makes all the events and economic hardships for people like me over the past year so much worse. The CEO of this company goes on Denver local news and claims to "care" but then immediately points out all the fraud they are preventing by showing 2, yes two examples of people cheating the system by wearing Halloween masks during their "video chat with a trusted referee" how did those people even get to the point of having a video chat? Because I've been trying for almost 3 weeks and I'm a legitimate tax paying American citizen with valid documents and haven't been able to even get that far. This company is an absolute joke and a disgrace and the fact they continue to get government contracts with the past history of these same issues in every state prior to Colorado and now Colorado also, is also a serious disappointment to legitimate Unemployment clients who are just trying to survive and put food on the table. This is a disgrace and this company should be ashamed of themselves. Yes you are preventing the maybe 5% fraud cases while denying thousands of legitimate people their benefits in the process.

Opting out proved difficult with my account, but my wife faced more hurdles.
We were trying to opt out of a service. I managed to do so easily with my existing account, but my wife needed to opt out separately. She attempted to create an account, but it failed at the account info step without explanation, locking her out for 24 hours. We then tried ID.me. Despite clear scans of her driver's license, uploads were rejected for 'glare' or not detecting her face, which was perplexing. Uploading from a phone seemed successful, but verification failed, leading to a request for a 'video selfie'. This worked, yet verification issues persisted, prompting a 'video chat' with a 'trusted referee' and more documents. Frustrated, we deleted her account. We'll return any Child Tax Credit payments via estimated tax payments. ID.me's incompetence or intentional friction for claiming benefits is notable, as is their Support Team's tendency to blame users for 'blurry' images or mismatched information. If they can't process standard photos or match valid documents, they need to improve their software and records, not expect better user submissions. The lack of a phone number and long waits for referees suggest they anticipate users giving up. Accountability is needed for the inconvenience caused to the public.

I will try to be as short as I can
I will try to be as short as I can. For 2 weeks I have been trying to get verified, it wasn't working through their portal or their app. After getting the six digit code on my phone and then verifying my email, nothing would happen I was completely lost I felt that it was asking me for the generated code in case I had ever forgotten my login information, i tried that and that didn't work either I was just not being taken to the verify section to upload my documents. Eventually today, or last night I found it after trying 6 hours unfortunately I am not going to go into explaining how I found the problem because I will be here the whole day but there is definitely a flaw and I got through it. Once I found it, and was able to upload my documents my face was scanned, then all of my information popped up, it was correct, it asked me if I had ever used a different last name I said yes and wrote down my maiden name then submitted it after about 15 seconds it came back and said I was not able to get verified I tried it again it said the same, finally it gave me the option to speak to a referee on a live call I was excited to see that the referee was available right then and there to my disappointment I went into a 5-hour and 47 minute wait. After waiting 3 hours and 7 minutes it went into a 2 hour and 40 minutes wait and that has not changed for the last 5 hours so I'm sitting here not able to unplug my phone from its charging place unable to go anywhere or do anything but look at the phone I am using my fiance's phone to write this review. I then went to see what was the world saying about Id.me and came up on the complaintsboard.com and saw that along with thousands of people we all are sharing the same complaints and the id.me company is answering and I couldn't do anything but laugh in disgust at their answers! They are sitting here lying to us saying that they are there for us for support when in fact after trying to use their chat section and it asked me to pick from the list about what subject it was that I needed to talk about and I chose unemployment and then chose North Carolina as my state their answer kept being North Dakota and sending me to an article that I should read about the North Dakota unemployment verification process when I kept saying North Carolina and I didn't even type it I chose my state from their list then I went into their app reviews in the Play store and saw that every single person there complained about the same thing not being able to get verified being on hold for a referee losing their place in a call and then I felt that I was all alone, who would help me if we the people are depending on this company to verify us and not only are they not fixing their flaws they are acting as if they are continually being helpful supportive, resourceful and accurate judging from the answers that they're giving on here. business bureau reviews. one response I was shocked to read them telling a complainer that they had seen where she had only held for 4 days as if 1 hour is not long enough. To this moment I am questioning my states' decision for hiring ID.me for their verifying system, did they not verify them by reading the awful reviews and all the one Stars that people have left here on the complaintsboard.com and at the Play store on the reviews of their application as if I would ever even choose to do business with them and spend money on whatever products they are selling. Currently, I am still holding for two more hours and 40 minutes but like I said this has been this way for the last 5 hours or so so I don't know how many more 2 hours and 40 more minutes am I supposed to wait but because in this case I am needing to do this, then I will have to stay here and hope and pray that I have a positive outcome because I am going on the second week of not receiving my unemployment benefits when I was eligible, and continue to be eligible and I'm also verifiable I hope that they are held accountable for what they have done to people who in some cases have been waiting for 2 months to get verified and I know a few others that simply walked away and gave up on their unemployment benefits as if they are seeing "okay, fine you win, keep your money, or should I say, "fine, you win, keep my money. It is completely rude and unfair that all of this is just getting by and no one is sitting down and asking this company those questions and what do they plan on doing to becoming a 100% customer reliable grade A company. It's a shame a real shame. Undoubtedly now I see why they don't have a live customer service number that we can call and get our situations resolved. They should be made to have a live customer service call center.

Account suspended
I have been trying to sign into id.me and the account is suspended. I've filled out 4 slips for someone to contact, to no avail. It is ridiculous to have a site that has all of your personal information and you cannot contact anyone when you have a problem. Very poor customer care service. As a result, I cannot sign into my IRS account to make my monthly payments and see my progress in payments.

idme
Cannot resolve problem trying to log in with old user and password. Tried to change it but could not because I think there is more then one account. So, I need to speak to someone to remove all accounts and start over to establish a new account. There is not phone number to do this and not actual person who responds just automated emails that do not fix the problem, the company is overrated and I have tried to work with them but they do not have a way of fixing problems in a timely manner. If they would call you and direct you that may help but with out that you are dead in the water. Cannot understand why the government uses them since they are so inept, not user friendly.
Desired outcome: A call from them or a phone number where some one will actually assist you.
I can never get after I set up two accounts by mistake
I have reached out to IDME but no one has responded.
-I am out of work and I can't get in to file my unemployment claim.
-Your no telephone number and the Chat Box is basics.
-The instructions to solve the solution is not correct, I tried 10x.
-
I don't know why give out these contracts to companies and they are not doing a good job of servicing the community.
Yet another government failed contract.
Desired outcome: Make it easier for someone to be verified with an email. if a duplicate email is created, so what! my cell phone cannot be duplicated so why not use an alternative way to access OUR Account!.
Duplicate account I did not set up
I totally forgot that I had set up an id.me account in 2017. When I attempted to set up one 10 days ago, I got a notice that this account has a duplicate account under the email of r*****[protected]@protonmail.com. It was not me and I don't know anyone with this email. No one knew I had set up the account in 2017 or tried again recently, and no one has my passwords. 3 different support chats proved nothing except that I had to sign in with this illegitimate account and showed my account was temporarily suspended and that I should now contact [protected]@id.me, which I did last week but no reply yet. I can't even get on irs.gov, etc. without a current id.me account.
PLEASE HELP ME
Desired outcome: FIND OUT WHO STARTED THIS DUPLICATE ACCOUNT AND HAS THE EMAIL ADDRESS (ALSO LOGIN NAME) OF r*****[protected]@protonmil.com
ID.me Review: Pleasantly Surprised at First, But Nightmare Experience Verifying ID for Massachusetts PUA Claim
I recently had to verify my ID for my tax return from both state and federal. At first, I was hesitant to use ID.me because of some negative reviews I had read online. However, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised that they didn't seem to have a problem with verifying my ID.
Unfortunately, my experience with ID.me took a turn for the worse when I had to verify my ID for Massachusetts after my claim was put on hold for 24 weeks. I was told to go to ID.me to verify my ID, but I had a lot of trouble with their service. I went back and forth with customer service for two weeks, but no matter what I did, their service would not work. I could only open an account, and nothing would process. Links did not work, links looped back around, and I couldn't upload anything. It was a total nightmare, and the webpage was not optimized for phone use on Android.
The only answer they could give me was to go to a library and use a public computer, which seemed strange to me. I was hesitant to enter all my personal private information on a public access computer, especially since the system was failing to work for me. It didn't give me much confidence that they cared about the security of the data or documents they get from people to verify their ID.
I messed around for a week, but when I finally got the message from Mass PUA that they denied my claim because I could not verify my ID with ID.me, I was devastated. I had been waiting for 24 weeks for something, anything, and then they pulled this with a company that should not be allowed to be doing this. I believe that ID.me is a criminal company and should be held responsible for their actions.
I am now homeless and have lost everything because of this experience. I believe that the owner of this company should be put in jail for what they have done to me and others like me. It's a shame that a company like ID.me can get away with treating people like this.
ID.me App Review: Frustrating and Ineffective for IRS Login
This ID.me app is supposed to protect us from identity theft, which is a big problem in this country. I appreciate the effort to keep us safe, but when the government, like the IRS, forces us to use it, I expect it to work perfectly. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
If you've ever moved, changed your phone number, or bought a new phone, you'll have trouble logging in. It's a complete waste of time and incredibly frustrating. I'm so fed up with this app that I'm considering moving to Switzerland just to get away from it.
First of all, if you try to log in from a browser that it doesn't recognize, like Chrome, it won't let you in. Then, even if you manage to jump through all the hoops, it takes you through a never-ending loop of codes and ID verification. It's like they don't trust you at all. And even after all that, you still can't use it to log into the IRS website.
It's ridiculous that a security app can be so good that it leaves the actual user out of their own data. It's a worthless, garbage app, and it's irresponsible of the IRS to expect us to deal with all this BS.
ID.me Needs to Step Up: Review of the Verification System for Unemployment Claims
I totally agree with everyone's comments on here about ID.me. I even sent an email to the CEO of ID.me to tell him how bad their system is. To my surprise, he responded back to me and offered to help me. He seemed like a nice guy and a fellow Veteran. However, I think they are in way over their heads at this point. They are getting slammed with claims verification's from all over the country.
Speaking only in regards to California, I put most of the blame on the California EDD. They are the ones responsible for the lack of security, technology, and planning. There are plenty of accountability problems that the EDD has, and I won't even get into all of them.
On the other hand, ID.me should have planned ahead for this. They should have had their software and systems tweaked to where there wouldn't be all of the BS problems people are experiencing confirming their identity. I know they are hiring more people, but that doesn't excuse the excessive failure rate. They also need to have an actual toll-free number that answers calls in real-time. They are pulling in big money now - it's time for them to step up and get their sh*** together. Even I had problems with their system. I have been background checked multiple times, Federal security clearances, etc., and I had issues with ID.me.
I communicated to the CEO and pointed out the severe issues that people are having. Many people are suffering hardships getting their Unemployment Insurance because of ID.me delaying or holding up the process. He is aware of the problems. Hopefully, Mr. Hall improves the poor system they have in place.
Frustrated with ID.me: Multiple Dead Ends and False Promises
I am so frustrated with ID.me. I have been trying to sign up for their service because I need it for Arizona UI, but it just doesn't work. They keep sending me links to verify my identity through texts, but when I get to the end, it says my phone number is not valid. How can that be when they just sent me texts? I have tried this over 5 times on day 1, and it's just a dead end every time.
Then they have this "speak face to face over camera" thing, which is supposed to be easier, but it's not. They ask for even more information than the first time, and it's just a joke. I tried signing up with another email, but it just links me to ads for companies they work with to provide coupons. It won't let me use a different email at all.
I am so annoyed with this whole process. It's like they don't want me to sign up. I even went to a physical office to try to get it done, but they just gave me a printout of the same process. So now I'm back at it again, and it's the same joke it was the first time. Multiple dead ends, and even when I use a different phone number, it says it's not valid.
I am so mad at ID.me that I am considering a class action lawsuit. They have convinced all these government agencies to use their service, but it doesn't work at all. And now they have our identities sitting on their servers with nothing in return. It's just not right. I hope this company goes out of business.
Avoid ID.me for FL Unemployment - A Complete Joke!
This ID.me website is a complete joke. I was trying to access my FL unemployment account to check on a payment that I didn't even request, but the whole Connect page was gone and replaced with some Republican Governor named Death Santis who was blocking all access. It seemed simple enough at first - just upload a picture of your driver's license. But of course, that was never going to be enough. There was always some kind of problem with the upload, whether it was the contrast, file size, or some other random excuse. It was like they were purposely trying to stonewall me and prevent me from making any progress.
After all of my uploads failed for one reason or another, they set a time for a video verification. But then, when that was supposed to happen, they found ANOTHER problem with my uploads and said they needed more time to review them. What a bunch of nonsense! I could clearly see everything on my documents, down to the individual bar codes. But apparently, that wasn't good enough for them.
Eventually, I gave up and the FL unemployment system was done with me. They just wanted me to go away and maybe they'd email me... whenever. And if they did email me and I actually got a video chat, I had to have ALL my uploaded documents physically with me so I could present them AGAIN over the video chat, even though they already had them and could see my face on at least 3 documents AND on the video chat. It was like dealing with a bunch of [censored]ic first graders who were running a scam ID theft company.
To make matters worse, this Death Santis guy passed the largest tax hike on Floridians ever with the online purchases tax. It was supposed to replenish the unemployment system without asking his business donors to pay their fair share. What a bunch of corrupt Republican political puppets!
Overall, I would not recommend using ID.me. It's a complete waste of time and energy. Just find another way to access your accounts or information.
Disappointing Experience Working for ID.me: Lack of Support and Unjust Termination
I recently started working for ID.me and I have to say, it was a huge disappointment. I was excited to join a company that valued its employees as much as its customers, but that was not the case. My training was supposed to last for 8 weeks, but it was a nightmare. The trainer, Adriana, was not helpful at all. She got irritated whenever anyone didn't understand something right away and nitpicked at everything we did. It was frustrating and demotivating.
To make matters worse, I was fired by ID.me after just two weeks of working there. They claimed that I left early and came late every day, which was a complete lie. I was shocked and devastated to hear that. I did everything I could to make sure I got to work on time every day, even though it was challenging. I only came late once and I notified the trainer about it. I also let her know that I had to leave early on the same day to pick up my daughter. I thought I did everything right, but apparently, that was not enough.
Adriana was the only person who could have told her superiors that I was always late and left early, which was not true. The day before I got fired, she gave me an evaluation and told me that I was doing a great job and gave me some constructive feedback. I thought everything was fine until I got that call. I was devastated to lose my job in the middle of a pandemic. I have a family to feed and bills to pay, and this opportunity was taken away from me without any explanation.
I have to say that this company does not care about its employees. They claim to have values, but they don't follow them themselves. They are only interested in making money and don't care about the people who work for them. If you are thinking about working for ID.me, I would advise you to think twice. It's not worth it.
Tips for a Smooth ID.me Verification Process: A Comprehensive Guide
If you're having trouble with the verification process on ID.me, don't worry, you're not alone. It can be a frustrating experience, but there are some steps you can take to make it easier. First, contact your local unemployment agency and ask for permission to create a new email for your claim. Once you have permission, create a new ID.me account and link it to your claim. If you were using Textme or another calling app to verify your number, you can keep your old ID.me account. Otherwise, close your old account and retry the verification process in 24 hours.
The best platform to start the process on is your computer using Microsoft Edge. It loads faster and responds better than other browsers like Firefox and Chrome. Make sure you have a webcam as well, as you may need to do a video call if your two primary documents couldn't be verified or if you need to verify a document combo. Wait times for the video call can be long, so be patient.
If you're having trouble with the verification process, don't bother messaging support or calling their contact number. It's a waste of time. Instead, make sure your unemployment office is aware of your repeated failed attempts and ask to create a new email. Don't hide anything from them, keep them posted.
Make sure all your information matches on your documents and on your ID.me profile. The issue I had was a zip-code error. I couldn't verify the zip on my profile because it was wrong due to an auto-fill error. If I had provided the correct information, it could have been considered fraud and I would have lost my benefits. So, make sure you double-check all your information before submitting it.
Finally, if you do everything right, you should receive an email with a link for a video call. It only took me three minutes to complete the call, and I was able to get the benefits I was entitled to. So, don't give up hope. Just remember to get permission first and follow these steps to make the process easier.
Id.me Review: Not Worth the Hassle or Risk for Unemployment Assistance
I gotta say, if you're thinking about using id.me, you might wanna think twice. I mean, it's not worth the hassle, the time, and the risk of putting your personal info out there. I mean, seriously, it's not like you're gonna get a real person on the line or anything. I know a lot of folks are using id.me for unemployment assistance right now, but trust me, you're not gonna get any help from these guys.
If your unemployment agency has a phone line for filing new claims, just keep calling that number until you get through. I know it's a pain in the butt, but it's better than dealing with id.me. I mean, it took me over a month just to get to this point, and I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get any help.
I checked out id.me's official Twitter, and it looks like they might respond if you DM them or something. But I wouldn't count on it. I mean, it's not like they have a support line or anything. I'm just saying, that's what I saw.
My experience with id.me has been pretty much the same as everyone else's. They ask for all this personal info for verification, and then they can't even verify it. And then they tell you to wait for a live agent. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but nope. It's just id.me being id.me. And I've waited for hours and days, and still no help.
Honestly, I feel kinda stupid for trusting id.me in the first place. I mean, just because it's approved by the EDD doesn't mean it's any good. They take all this personal info, and then they can't even verify you. What do they do with all that info? I don't even wanna know. If there's a way to delete my account with id.me, I'm all for it.
ID.me is a Corporation. A corporation is a legal entity created by individuals, stockholders, or shareholders, with the purpose of operating for profit.
