[Resolved] IberoStar — the club
Stayed at Cancun resort. December 3-10 2016.Last day did club sales. High pressure, almost missed flight. Was told by BOTH salesmen 50% off and come back here. I said i wanted the exact room, same week, was told no problem. Signed for $10, 000. Charged $2500 balance in payments.
Now March, looked into booking room... My level of club ( light blue) not eligible for ANY discount at cancun. Only Premium... Not Premium Gold.
Also, any discounts to other resorts are 25% off THEIR rack rates. Not %50.
I did not assume any of these numbers. I asked for a direct example. Was shown 120/120 for me and wife, add 90 for upgrade to villa. Saw him write it down. They showed me and the Mrs. We agree we saw the same thing. Condescending #####s on phone say " Well, if its not in your contract, it doesn't exist."... Talked to lawyer, was told high pressure tactics, bait and switch, and sighning under duress are all reasons to void contract.

Filing with Nh consumer fraud department on Monday.

clearly something has changed with Iberostar. My last 2 trips have been wonderful. The manager of the club in Iberostar Tucan, Tanita is one of the nicest people. She assisted my family 2 years ago when my mother had forgotten her heart medication. She happened to be at the restaurant when we found out, came over as we were panicked. I explained the issue, she asked for the med name and dose. She assured me that it was ok and to enjoy dinner. 45 min later she comes by with a bag, inside was my mum's meds, she apologizes and says there is a small charge, that must be paid in cash.I was expecting 100's and had 200 in my hand... it was $6 … six dollars . and to boot, wouldn't take a tip. this saved our trip. She had no reason to go the extra mile for us. last year, because of the cobblestone street, we were almost at the resort when my wife got car sick … bad, decided to walk, I had the info and said I would check family in, and return for her.When Tanita found out about this, she took off in a golf cart and picked her up, as my wife couldn't stand the bumps, … 10 min later I see Tanita and my wife arm in arm walking on to the resort. Who does this? certainly no other resort. My issues are resolved. completely. as for the finer points.. The resort I was interested in that was excluded... was added. And this being my 3rd trip, depending on time of booking, I save 40-60% off regular rates. the club will have more than paid for itself, the perks are just an added benefit. yes, read the contract, take notes if needed with the sales people. compare . then join if it works for you, and join me and my family in Tucan Iberostar Playa del Carmen. and no I wasn't bribed to say this my family means the world to me. And they took care of them as if they were Iberostar family.
