I just spent a long time being transferred from Hilton Honors customer service to American Express and then back to a supervisor at customer service (where he hung up or got disconnected).
Originally I was told by a customer service representative at HH to transfer 106k points for four nights stay in Tokyo. I was worried about the conversion (being that Amex was offering 1,000 for 1,500) so I called to speak with a professional before making the transfer. He assured me to transfer over exactly 106 points and then I would get a hotel room for 4 nights. I did what the HH costumer service rep told me to do right then - I proceeded to book the hotel to find out that the points he told me were absolutely not correct.
He was VERY wrong and I could NOT even get ONE night at the hotel we were discussing. I would have NEVER transferred the points to HH and I want them back to my Amex card.
Under Goodwill exception I am asking very kindly that you do what is fair. To HH 109 points is nothing but to me it is equivalent to a great deal of hardwork and I want to ue the points differently. Please do what is right. I would have NOT transferred the points had your representative not told me the wrong amount. Please help make this right.
