Harrah's Resort - Harrah’s Resort Southern California

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY HARRAH’S AND THE MARKETING TACTICS THEY USE TO MAKE YOU EVEN CONSIDER PAYING $300-$400/NIGHT IN “FUNNER”. CA!

I am telling you right now that after the experience my husband hasI had here this past weekend, you couldn’t pay us to stay in this s**t-hole again.

Let me start by saying that advertising that Sebastian Maniscalco was performing at Harrah’s was like putting lipstick on a pig (Obviously Sebastian being the lipstick that made Harrah’s the Pig look even somewhat attractive to where people would actually consider paying hundreds of dollars to see him perform here and close to a thousand a night for a crappy room).

We are from Temecula so it was a far drive for us, maybe 45 min, but the show started at 7PM so we wanted to see if we could check in early to use the pool so we got there at 2PM. We were told our room wouldn’t be ready until checkin time at 4PM because they were at max capacity for the weekend and running behind. That’s fine and understandable—but then 4PM came around, the room still wasn’t ready. 4:15….4:30…4:45…5:00PM…one hour after check in and now we’re getting very upset because we had less that 2 hours to get into our room, unpacked, showered, cleaned up to make the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy show at 7PM and we could no longer make our dinner reservation with our friends at Hells Kitchen. The front desk has no answers for us as to when our room would be ready (which was supposed to be a pool view suite) so they DOWNGRADED to a basic room that was ready on the first floor that looked out to a concrete wall. No one at the front desk apologized for the inconvenience.

We get to the room—it’s dirty! Had not been cleaned. The bed sheets were dirty and had been slept in, none of them were even tucked in and there was no fitted sheet around the mattress itself; the bathroom was dirty from whoever stayed in it the night before and so we had no clean towels even if we wanted to quickly shower in order to make the show; there weren’t even bags in any of the garbage cans—just unopened clear plastic liners laying at the bottom of the baskets as if someone took the trash out and intended to replace the cans with new bags but just didn’t bother. Would you believe we paid $600/night for a dirty room that we were downgraded to!?!

Now, we love Sebastian Maniscalco which is why we had no problem paying $300/ticket to see him…but the venue he performed in here at Harrah’s in “Funner”, CA? Completely ruined the show for us. The show itself looked like it was being held in a conference room with incredibly uncomfortable conference room chairs set up so close together that if you were an adult male over 180lbs like my husband, you were absolutely touching shoulders pretty snug and tightly with the person seated to the left and right of you. It was like they were packing sardines into a can just so they could make money. When we entered the “venue”, we thought we walked into a time-share presentation by accident and that we might have been in the wrong room. That was the vibe.

It was impossible for anyone to get drinks before and during the show because they had maybe three bar set ups with one bartender at each…now imagine hundreds of people trying to all get their drinks with only 15 minutes to spare…the lines were so long we just said “screw it” because we could hear Sebastian already starting his show. A lot of people were complaining and yelling in line about this.

I think Sebastian himself knows this venue was complete s**t. Not even two minutes into his performance he was already making comments about the “smoke effects” they used to introduce him—it was so overwhelming, “it looked like the place was on fire” (those were his exact words). Then he mocked the stage set up itself because there were two giant screens on either side of him showing him while he was performing, but so close together it was confusing and looked like an optical illusion. They were completely unnecessary.

He had issues with the camera man who was sleeping on the job…Sebastian would point someone out from the audience, ask the camera to highlight them, but the camera staff weren’t paying attention so he had to ask several times and made comments about their laziness.

Then his microphone began having issues creating a lot of feedback—not only for him (as he stated this during his show), but also for us, the audience, which I don’t think he even realized.

Like I said, advertising that Sebastian Maniscalco was performing at Harrah’s was like putting lipstick on a pig! Harrah’s was AWFUL, OUTDATED, OVERPRICED, DIRTY, UNORGANIZED, UNDERSTAFFED and unfortunately it heavily influenced our opinion of Sebastian’s show. There were so many issues with this place that it completely distracted from his comedy—to the point where his stand up itself became about just how s***ty Harrah’s was.

I WILL NEVER RETURN!

Desired outcome: I would like a response and an apology.

Harrah's Resort - bad experience

Good morning. I don't normally write to complain, but this is a must. Myself and many of my friends stayed at your resort Sat night July 20th for my bachelor party. We payed a lot of money to stay there, and of course spent a lot of money on the tables, food and drinks. We stayed in room 426. The AC did not work! In the morning we wanted to watch the golf tournament and the TV was broke. They brought a new tv, hooked it up and left. We watched static for 22 min before the guy came back to set the tv up. At that point it was 11 and check out time. We then went to your pool (to spend more money) have lunch and relax before the drive home. We were informed they only had one cook and expect 1-1.5 hrs to get food. Beautiful place, but I will never ever waste my money at your resort again:( Very very dissatisfied with the whole experience at your resort. Thanks for your time
