Harley Davidson review: Stock Cam chain tensioners are junk!

Bikes made from 1996 to 2006 were product with defective cam chain tensions. Harley knew about problem but manufactured the bikes anyway. Tensioners are made out of cheap plastic and will break up anywhere from 10,000 miles to 30,000 miles. Harley did nothing to fix this problem and the cost to replace defective parts is around $2500! In 2007 Harley finally addressed the problem and went to a hydrologic can chain tensioner. Harley should be responsible and issue a recall and DO THE RIGHT THING and replace defective parts! I will never buy another Harley or and Harley products.

Claimed loss: $2500

Desired outcome: Replace defective cam chain tensioners and issue a recall for all the other people who got screwed by Harley Davidson!

My Harley Fat boy is a 2004 with 10,815 miles on it and have stopped riding it. Worried about cam chain tensioners breaking into pcs and trashing the motor! Not sure what I will do. Bought a 2024 Kawasaki eliminator 450 to ride now. Never had any issues with metric bikes!
