I gotta say, I'm not too thrilled with Hardwood Lumber Company. Like a lot of other folks have said, the wait time was way longer than they said it would be. And then, to make matters worse, there were even more delays with shipping and stuff. And when I tried to talk to them about it, they didn't seem to care at all. So I had to pay some guys to just sit around and wait for the wood to show up, but it never did. This happened three times! Not cool.

I got some Alder countertops from Hardwood Lumber Company like two years ago. It was lit! They sent it all the way to South Carolina and it was still looking fresh when it got here. The countertops were so pretty! They came when they said they would and the peeps there were quick to answer any questions we had. We're building another crib now and we're definitely hitting up Hardwood Lumber Company again!

Don't buy from this company, they're not good. They took forever to send my order and every time I talked to them they told me different lies. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a company. Even the girl who tried to help me doesn't work there anymore. I think she got tired of dealing with angry customers all day. I ordered a counter top for over $1,000 on July 5th and just cancelled my order today, October 12 because they couldn't deliver. I waited for 4 months for nothing. It's too bad because they have nice products, but I'll never know. Seriously, stay away from this company!

We order a countertop on August 19. We were so excited to see that it had finally arrived on October 28, after a two and a half month wait. When I opened the box, I was so mad to find that the countertop I waited nearly three months for had been damaged and was literally cracked in half. When I contacted customer service requesting a refund because I did not want to wait another three months, they informed me that they would refund me 50%! What sort of company doesn't stand by their work and shipping process? Anything less than a 100% refund for the destroyed and useless countertop is not okay. Any decent, ethical and reputable company would absolutely give a full refund without question. BE CAREFUL ORDERING ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY! IT TAKES FOREVER FOR IT TO ARRIVE AND THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR SHIPPING PROCESS SO IF IT BREAKS YOU WILL BE OUT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!

This company has great customer service and their products are beautiful. We ordered a complicated, custom countertop and it wasn't "perfect" when it arrived. Maria said they'd take it back at their cost to check it out. They made us a whole new countertop, which still wasn't "perfect" so we agreed on a good discount. They also sent us a free cutting board that's actually perfect. If you're ordering something that doesn't need a CAD, you'll probably be 100% happy. Even though our premium walnut butcher block island top had some mistakes, we're glad we found Hardwood Lumber Company. Their staff is professional and reasonable. Things aren't always perfect, but they did offer us a full refund if we wanted. We chose to be flexible and we're very happy with the result.

This website uses a checkout service from a company called ***. During checkout, there ain't no option to review the order before they charge your card. Plus, the shipping charges ain't visible during checkout. The shipping charge was a whopping 80% of the cost of the material! *** gives you only 5 minutes to cancel the purchase from the time you fill out the initial order page. After that, the order is "permanently" placed, including the hidden shipping charges. On top of this "bait-and-switch" billing experience, my card was charged twice for the same amount! Hardwood-Lumber Company don't provide customer service on the weekend, so I contacted *** customer service to cancel the orders. But *** refused to take any action to resolve the matter, 'cause the order wasn't cancelled within 5 minutes via the email they sent. It's a bummer that a company that's supposed to carry premium materials engages in such obviously sneaky billing methods.

I'm so bummed about this company right now. I hit them up for a desk project I wanted to build and told them all the deets. The person I talked to was cool and helped me pick the right stuff for my project. They said to email them for a custom quote, so I did and got a quote back in less than a day. So far, so good! But then, the other shoe dropped. I replied to that quote with exactly what I wanted to order based on their directions and asked how to move forward. They said they'd be happy to take my order, but the price would be 50% higher than the quote. They said the edge finishes were way more expensive than they thought and there'd be almost $200 in shipping charges added to my order. This is after the email said shipping was freight shipping and explained what I had to do when it got here. It also said I could upgrade my shipping, but that would cost more. I'm super disappointed. I asked to talk to the manager and she said they made a mistake and were sorry, but they couldn't honor the first quote. How can a business not stand by their written word? I feel like this was bait and switch advertising!

I got a big ol' butcher block from Hardwood Lumber Company for my kitchen island. I didn't want any of that distressed look on it, so I picked the hand-planed option, thinking it would be extra smooth on top. But when I got it, it was all divoted and messed up, with big ol' gaps on either end where the wood done separated. Them gaps was bigger than 4 inches! We had to use the bottom side 'cause it looked better, but them gaps and separations ain't something I can fix. I even ordered a sample beforehand, and it was perfect! I paid $45 plus shipping for that sample, but what I got was nothin' like it. I done tried to talk to *** about it in a bunch of emails, but she ain't been no help. I even tried to cancel the charge on my credit card, but they couldn't do nothin' either. I offered to pay for the wood and asked for a new one made the way we wanted it, but they want me to pay half for a new one. I already paid over $1300 for this one, and it's poor quality. They messed up in production, and they ain't standin' behind their product.
