My fiance and I have been members for 2 years. We won a trip from the Barclay's Center in NYC and came to the seminar to claim our trip. We sat through the entire promotion and my man was very impressed and confident that we could have great vacations if we signed up. We signed up that day and our confidence got us locked in with a company that deeply regret getting involved with.
We have tried calling, we have emailed and nothing works. The phone numbers have a recording that totally contradicts the hours of operation given on the site. All of the numbers have the same recordings. We are very frustrated with this service. After two months of trying, I am forced to make complaints on social media, with the BBB and even on this platform and it is disgusting and disappointing that we should have to even go this far to chase a representative to get an answer or even to speak to a live person. Has anyone had any real success with speaking to anyone? I would love to explore legalities because we trusted that this was going to be a great experience and this company is wholeheartedly sucking the money right out of us and breaking their own terms. Let's talk about how there are no real deals on the site and we would be better off going to a travel agency for a trip.
Desired outcome: Please refund me or cancel without penalty. I am experiencing mental anguish - up at 5:30am worried about my finances and this account ruining my credit.
I upgraded my membership in 2022 being told I would have more options at more resorts, and nicer places than the usual so, so places. I was able to get a nice place in 2022 shortly after I upgraded, but now the options where I normally visit in the Panhandle of Florida are pitiful. There is pretty much one option, Marina Bay Resort which all of the condos are only 1 bedroom. The big sales pitch that they give sucking you in to upgrade is a joke. Just a warning, what they tell you is not true (more options, more resorts vs. owner-owned condos. I have been on many vacations through this company and you never know what the condo will be like inside. It seems they find the cheapest place that aren't the greatest to offer you. No pictures, just you hoping you don't arrive at some hole in the wall dirty place. I do not recommend joining Global Discovery Vacations.
where did you Join ? We did the same and GOT SCAMED we believe I can not find a two bedroom any where and BECAREFUL if you book a two bed room you might have two beds like in a hotel room no good for your kids right beside you at night if you get what I'm saying. then the ADDED fees, one resort adds the electric you use to your bill most don't come with TP in the bath rooms I booked a trip to Aruba all inclusive with air cheaper just with an internet deal then through GDV
The sales pitch was that I could try it out if I didn't like the new program with in 5 years you could get your money back even know that in writing that was a BIG FAT LIE so far as I called and they tell me they will call you back which as you guessed it they almost never do!
So Far I feel this was/is a Scam I had one nice vacation in the outer banks years and years ago with them before I upgraded one trip to the mountains the cabin had no phone/ TV or kitchen it did have water in the bath room. the cabin was one step above a tent.
I got a call in to see if I can get one of the nice cabins in the GSM near pigeon forge where they sold me the up grade so far not been able to get in.

I joined GDV Nov.11 2022 .I went home & read some of there reviews & decided to cancel membership.So i sent them a telegram 2 days later.now thay still are sending me bills.I call them after long waits on the phone thay say corporate will call me. but thay dont.
We have been global members for years. We've never experienced what you're describing with Global directly. If you're talking about the promotional company they use, we've not used them.
