I had a terrible experience with Get a Rate LLC. Be ready for inaccurate estimates, overpriced services, incompetent staff, and the loan "advisor" being very unprofessional. So please consider it before. Plan things ahead with time, shop around, get second opinions, read carefully all documents, and make the best decision. I would not recommend Get a Rate LLC in Elmwood Park, NJ. My rate to them: 1 out of 5.

I was really lucky to find the team at Get A Rate, especially Joe Sargenti and Eileen Mital. I was super stressed when I started with another mortgage broker who I felt was taking advantage of me at the last minute (hidden fees, bad interest rate, other fees), but then I got the courage to try somewhere else (Get a Rate!). And wow, am I happy I did! They were so helpful. They found me an amazing 3.499% interest rate, kept me informed every step of the way, and the best part -- Even though I came to them just 2 weeks before my closing date, we got a "clear to close" in just 8 days! They saved me stress, time, and a ton of money. I'm really grateful! A++

I had a so-so experience with GetARate when I refinanced my mortgage. I wasn't too happy with how the closing process went. It started in early February and dragged on until May 1st, which is a long time for a simple refinance, you know? There were a few big issues: 1. They didn't communicate much during the process. 2. They made careless mistakes on the paperwork. 3. I was unsure about what would happen next because of their internal disorganization and shuffling around of processes and loan officers. 4. To top it off, they took back an earlier quote they gave me for a lower commitment fee, and I only found out on the day of closing. I tried to get reimbursed $400 by emailing them multiple times, but they said no. That's just lousy customer service, you know? That last point really left a bad taste in my mouth. I can't say I recommend them, sorry.
