2025 GMC sierra EV Max (VIN#:5UX23EM00R9V95236)

July 07, 2025:
1. Purchased EV at Yates/GMC dealership in Goodyear AZ
July 08, 2025:
1. Took EV to dealer, EV showing midgate latch problem.
2. Tech stated latch would need to be replaced
3. Told dealer I could drop off Thursday morning (July 10) as I was going to San Diego for vacation and would not need back till following Monday (July14)
July 10, 2025:
1. Turned EV in 0700 that morning to replace/repair latch
July 14, 2025:
1. Went to pick up EV, not ready, told EV would be repaired by Tuesday (July 15)
July 15, 2025:
1. Picked up EV after work, approx. 1700, latch was replaced and no longer a warning statement.
July 16 and 17, 2025:
1. Drove EV to and from work (29 miles 1 way, 7 to 8 percent battery use for 1 way. 60 miles total per day, 15% battery usage.
July 18, 2025
1. Drove EV to work, ran just fine, no faulty indications.
2. End of workday (approx. 1630) started walking out to parking lot to where EV was parked, tried to remote start, no indication it worked, had worked the 2 days prior.
3. Entered vehicle and stepped on electric pedal to wake up EV and all kinds of warning lights came on at the DIC, HV, LV, Battery, Drive system, 4ws, crab walk, and other misc. I did not scroll through all the warnings
4. I called Yates service and asked what I should do, was directed to see if it would go in drive and was able to move. I stated yes. Drove around a small oval parking lot, EV made no sound or mechanical issues, except for all the warning lights still on DIC. Told to go ahead and drive home and bring into dealer the next day. (Saturday, July 18)
5. EV drove fine going home from work and mileage and percent battery life decreased about the same as it had 2 days earlier.
July 19, 2025
1. Walked out to my EV to take to dealer.
2. EV did not come alive like usual when walking up to it. Remote would not work, had to use mechanical key to open door.
3. NO indications of any kind when door was open. Stepped on brake, no indications (nothing at all worked, completely DEAD)
4. Called dealer service dept, told they would send a tow truck out to pick up.
5. Tow driver showed up with flatbed, he could not get anything to work also, stated he would have to drag my EV into the road to put on truck, told him that that was not going to happen.
6. Tow driver called dealer and said that without being able to put in neutral and not being able to drag, he could not put on truck.
7. Dealer asked tow driver if he had a portable jump pack and apply to LV 12V battery to see if EV might go into neutral, driver removed plastic covering battery, asked if I had a meter, stated I did, 12-volt low voltage battery read 3.6 to 3.8 volts. Driver hooked jump pack to EV battery, lights and door ding and other stuff came on. Driver stepped on peddle and EV died. (Kind of an electrical brown out when doing). Never was able to get into neutral. Diver left.
8. Dealer called another tow truck company and prior to coming out to EV, company called me and stated that they would send a driver out, I stated that EV would not going into neutral, lady on phone stated that no problem, they would drag onto tow truck, I stated that is not going to happen, don’t even come out.
9. Dealer stated they would figure the solution on Monday, July 21.
July 21, 2025
1. Drove rental,(provide by Yates) to dealership to talk to service. After a little heated discussion, they stated they would be at my house around noon.
2. Service manager, Service advisor, EV dealership mechanic SME, and tow service showed up.
3. EV tech installed a new LV 12-volt battery in EV. All indications came on to include all the warnings on the DIC. The big screen was not working or controlling correctly.
4. Tech cycled gear shift to park, neutral, drive, reverse and it seems to go into those modes. Decision was made to see if it was drivable, it was not. The brakes locked down when peddle was reduced. (COULD SMELL THE BRAKES BURNING VERY BAD).
5. Decided that since at least it would go into neutral, just to put it on the tow truck.
6. RO open date 7/21/25 RO# 6033618/4
7. EV had been driven a total of 4 full days and 461 miles
AUG 08, 2025
1. Hired AMAR law group to file a Lemon Law case against GM.
2. The reason I did this is that the GM EV concierge told me (Get a Lawyer.) (This was after I questioned him on why GM could not just provide me another Like for Like vehicle)
July 21 to Dec 22, 2025
1. Yates, along with regional engineer and engineer flown in from Detroit, worked to figure out what was wrong with EV. Almost every module, voltage cables, large front display, LV and HV battery were replaced. They really could not say what finally fixed the problem, dealer drove it 138 miles to verify operational prior to giving it back to me. 599 miles total on EV now.
Dec 22, 2025
1. Yates GMC/Buick called to inform me that EV was finally fixed, and I could pick it up.
2. Drove it home and parked it currently has 638 miles on it.
Jan 28, 2026
1. Finally received a call from my lawyer stating GM had made an offer.
THIS IS THE OFFER. (As we discussed, we have received a settlement offer from GM. The offer was either a re-purchase or $19,000, inclusive of attorney fees. You indicated that you would prefer re-purchase, but if you accepted the cash and keep offer, you would receive $12,654 and our office would receive $6,346.
2. I feel for all the stress, headaches, my time during this 6-month period that this is a slap in the face offer.
3. On the re-purchase, all the warranties, vehicle tags, gap insurance, etc. would be prorated to the final date that the settlement ends. Why should I be penalized for the time that the vehicle was sitting in a service dept torn down to pieces as they were trying to figure out what was wrong.
4. On the keep and settlement, 19,000 with lawyers getting 1/3 and myself 2/3 I would still be paying taxes on the settlement, which is also a slap in the face.
5. I have made 6 payments (10,700 total) on a vehicle that I could not even drive, 6 months of insurance, 6 months off vehicle tag cost on A VEHICLE I COULD NOT EVEN DRIVE.

In OCT of 2025 I got tired of it all and purchased for cash (out of my saving, as I could not afford 2 vehicle payments) a 2025 GMC Denali Ultimate 3500HD diesel from YATES. I was never going back to an EV or accept mine once fixed (unless the keep and settlement was worth it) or a repurchase (where I lose money because of all the prorated stuff) because of the time it took to repair and that never figured out what the problem or problems were.

I was told that I would not receive any money back for the cost of me installing a 50-amp outlet in garage and purchasing a larger charger as the EV was 215KW battery and charger that came with vehicle to up to 2 days to charge. I also purchased a dash mat for one hundred dollars. So am I supposed to take that loss also.

I have purchased 8 plus GM products over the years, all high end, and this case really has me angry with GM, I stand by your products, you should stand by me in making this Lemon law case reasonable.
