I purchased this washer through Home Depot 8/20/23. It has had serious issues ever since I got it. When spinning it gets off balance and shakes and I have to put it on pause and try to move everything around but it still shakes. It's installed in my garage and sits on a ledge. The shaking gets so bad I have to put it on pause and try to keep it from falling off the ledge and hurting someone. A repair tech has been to our house numerous times. He said the drum needed to be replaced. Several drums were shipped to my home and they were damaged upon arrival because there was no packing in the boxes. Finally one was shipped and wasn't damaged. The tech came back and replaced the drum but it continues to vibrate and shake. He said the agitator was also defective and needed to be replaced. We received the the new part and the tech will have to come again to replace it. Now it's leaking water every time we use the washer. I have called GE numerous times and ask for them to replace the washer or give me a refund but they will do neither. I will never buy GE again.

Desired outcome: Refund or new washer

Hi Mrs. Thompson.

We can't begin to tell you how sorry we are that you're experiencing any difficulty with your HotPoint washing machine. Speaking of which, we should clarify that this is a HotPoint labeled washing machine -- not G. E.

HotPoint provides a one year, limited warranty on the unit. It's important that the service technician is authorized by HotPoint. This service technician can work with HotPoint to declare the unit unrepairable and receive return authorization.

You mention this unit is setting on a ledge. It means the flooring underneath the unit may not be stable and create the problem. We'd recommend placing it directly on the garage floor.

If this doesn't completely cover all of your concerns, PLEASE let us know. We want to make sure you're thoroughly enjoying your unit.
