I’m filing a complaint against Gardner White. I bought a coffee table a little over a year ago and bought extended warranty on it that should cover everything that happens to it.

About few weeks ago I had an incident and I spelling large amount of water on the table, when I was trying to wiped it down with a towel the color of the table came off and my towel turned black and also some areas started peeling after. I went to Garden White in Madison Heights, MI on 14 mile and Van [censored] to report the issue and I opened claim by the customer service desk and that was 3 days after my incident. I explained everything to the he lady at the front desk and she said she can help me scheduling a service, and she did. A day before my service date I received a message from Gardner White stating that I need to call the extended warranty department for service, Gardner White can’t help me because it been more than a year since I bought the table. I thought the lady at Gardner white made the appointment with the extended warranty but I guess not. I called the phone number that they provided me and started a claim with the extended warranty department, they didn’t asked me a lot of questions, they just gave me an email and said I need to send my informations and pictures of the damage area, and I did. By the time I opened a claim with the warranty department it was couple of weeks after my incident because I waited for my appointment with Gardner White but they canceled my appointment the day before. I kept waiting for somebody to call me from the warranty department to schedule a service but no one did. I tried to call few time and they kept telling me to wait until they process my request. Almost a month later finally I got hold of somebody at the warranty department and they said my claim was denied because I didn’t report it to the witching a week and I didn’t explain what happened to it in details. I tried to explain that I made the claim after 3 days to Gardner White and the lady at the front desk told me that she opened the claim, but she didn’t do it right and I explained everything about the incident to that lady. The warranty department refused to listen and kept telling me it’s too late my claim is denied. I have the message that I received from Gardner White and the claim that I opened with them to prove what I’m saying but they don’t want to listen to me. I tried to call Gardner White store who opened my original claim and they are refusing to help and I keep leaving messages to a manager to call but they never call back. I paid almost $1000 for this coffee table with extended warranty and from the first incident they do want to cover. Why do they sell extended warranty if they are not willing to fix the problem. I am reach out to you today to help me solve my issue and help me fix or replace my coffee table.
