Freelancer.com Client initiated funding for project payment and later they didn't response

I Freelancer user and looking for data entry work to do at home. So, recently I applied for bid and received response from them suggested to give details of my freelancer user ID, Name, Age, Contry to given email id - sourceautomation.[protected]@gmail.com. then I given details through email. Then they have given me project on 9th Feb, 2023 time 6.46 pm for 24 hrs. and have to submit before 10th feb, 2023 time 3 PM. I have completed this project and submitted them before time. Then at 4.14 PM they replied me, if you completed work then contact team leader on telegram for work verification and payment. And follow his instruction for payment. Team Leader - Mr. Samual

Telegram ID:- @iRazoo_samual. I contacted team leader on telegram. He said your project is correct and illegible for payment of Rs. 5000/-. But to clear this payment you have to pay GST amount of Rs. 500/-. I said to deduct from my payment and give balance amount. He said it's not possible, you have to pay first gst. I asked him for bill, but he said it's not a product, can't give. Then he again said to give Rs. 500/- GST so next 10 minuts you will receive your payment. Then I have paid 500/- through GPay. And asked him for payment, but he said it will take 72hrs to reflect in account. I followed daily, and after 72hrs also, but he didn't replied and after 3 days, he deleted my conversation. Further I also contacted original gmail id. informed them. but no response receive from them. I have attached email conversation for your reference. Please go through it and take necessary action to avoid other user will not face such problems in future. and suggest them to refund my payment. I hope you will do the needful.

Freelancer.com Please refund my funds from my closed account.

I am Olha Shliusar from Ukraine, Ternopil and have worked as freelancer at this platform. My account has been closed at 13th on February without any specified reason. So I have sent ticket to freelancer support team, and Joey C replied me that my account has been closed due to violating the freelancer site's terms and service. I always tried to keep the privacy policy and terms of service at this platform. I think if you want to close my account, you must have specified reason. I hope this is the mistake from freelancer platform. The important thing is that there was $1360 on withdraw to my card. It was date that funds withdraw should be processed. I emailed to my client but he said me he didn't receive this fund. Then, who has this my fund?

Desired outcome: So I hope you will refund my funds to my card directly or refund to my client again.

I'm sorry to hear that, Olha.

Did you contact a freelancer support to resolve your issue? If you contact but they didn't say any reason of your account closing and they didn't release your money then it's really a scam and stealing activity.

I also faced the same problems on other freelancer platforms like Upwork and they closed my account without warning any problem and didn't say the reason of it. So I lost my money more than $3k.

I want to ask why these platforms scam a freelancers. We always work seriously and pay the project fee to freelancer platform but why we need to lost the money and leave over?

I want to say the managers should be clear about this and return the money to the freelancers.

I hope they will resolve Olha's issue and return the money ASAP.

I believe that the freelance support team is an honest team and never a sloppy team stealing other people's money. And now the world is supporting Ukraine, which was affected by the war with Russia. So I'm sure the freelance support team will also help Olha get her account back and get her money back.

Yes, my account was also closed without any reason so I lost my money($1700). I have been known Freelancer platform is the best platform for freelancers like me because I heard they will provide a lot of jobs and good clients. But there were no big and good jobs, there were only the miser client who is looking for cheap developers in this platform, so I had to earn small money compare to my efforts very very hard. Of course, it's understandable enough but I can't stand they stolen my money.

I think we have to counterattack to them so that they refund us the money right away.

LET'S THUMB UP HERE.

The freelance site is the worst I've ever worked for. They have also killed my account and stolen my money $3140. And I couldn't figure out the exact reason for closing my account.

Refund the money to the freelancer and recover their account

Freelancer.com My account is closed after withdrawal pending is end.

They have closed my account without any reason yesterday. And yesterday is the day my withdrawal opening is to end. I had an ongoing project there and had over $300 I have earned from many clients. They said that I did irregular activities but obviously I really didn't do anything against the freelancer rules and tried to keep the terms and conditions. Being successful as a freelancer was my greatest dream, but now I couldn't make my dream comes true. I have contacted with support team several times but they always give me some reply like this.

"Thank you for contacting Freelancer.com Support. We regret to inform you that your account has been closed for violating the Freelancer website in accordance with the Freelancer User Agreement found here at https://www.freelancer.com/about/terms

You accepted our Terms and Conditions when you signed up as a user on the Freelancer website. It has come to our attention that you have participated in activities that may harm the business operation or reputation of Freelancer. We have closed your account for this reason.

Regards"

But they are not sharing the details and I can't access my account so I can't check my ticket.
I think this is, this defies the RTI ordinances in Sydney.
Please help me.

Freelancer.com Account closed without reasons and explanations

My name is Mykhailo, and I'm from Ukraine.

My freelancer.com account was abruptly closed after I requested the process for a fund withdrawal and my $1760 was stolen.

That money came from the work I completed for one of my clients over a period of time.

I've been a freelancer on that platform for many years, and they have officially recognized me as a "Preferred" and "Verified" Freelancer.

I worked on numerous projects there and made more than $30k; all of the payments were handled by the platform, and as a preferred freelancer, I was required to give them 15% of my earnings.

I was nearly in tears when I learned that my account had been closed because, in the difficult circumstances of Ukraine, that was the only way I could provide for my family. Without my employment, my freelancer account, my family would be unable to survive.

I really didn't do anything to violate the terms and conditions of freelancer.com, and all of my clients were happy with my work.

Please review my work once more and send me my account again. Take it into account as a support for our Ukrainians.

I see a lot of people from Ukraine whose account were closed and they lose their money. I am from Ukraine too and some days ago my account was closed too with balance on it. I guess that one of possible reason for account closure is sanctions because of russia - Ukraine war. It is very unfair that ukrainian citizen are war-affected we side and we try to survive by our own hard work in order to support our family and our country and sanction are affected against Ukrainian too!

But my account is now closed and I'm not sure why.

I always tried to keep the privacy policy and rules on freelancer.com

I think if you want to close my account, you must have enough reason

Freelancer.com My account was suspended

Hi,

My account was suspended without any explanation. I have tried to contact them via email but I have had no luck. All they gave me was vague "give get policy" answer. I am really disappointed by the treatment as they just kicked me out and made no effort to tell me why in the first place. It is highly unfair when they do not provide any way to explain myself.

Freelancer.com Account closure without any reason stated

Greetings! My Freelancer account had apparently been closed for breaking the T's and C's. But when I tried to find out more information, I was left with no answers. I have been banned on the account where I put hours and much effort in order to secure my first gig, along with a recurring project as I am a reliable and capable Freelancer. I have contacted support, but was met with "Thanks for reaching out to us. Your ticket has been received. One of our agents will reply to you shortly.". I haven't heard back from these "agents", and I obviously cannot check the ticket status because I cannot access my account. This defies the RTI ordinances in Sydney, and I have relatives there who will be pressing charges unless either solid proof of malpractice is given, or unless I am rightfully given back access to my account. If Freelancer is going to be banning capable freelancers like this and not give any information whatsoever, then it is an incapable Freelance marketplace.

Desired outcome: A full length apology, as well as reverting the closure status of my account.

I received an update from a certain Dawnny L., telling me to check the updates on my tickets. Firstly, I can't check updates on the website because I can't log-in. Secondly, here's a fun story. I got a blank email from Zen M. as a "response" to my ticket , and then an email saying that Freelancer haven't heard back. And the ticket closes.

People going to hell at least get to know what went wrong. Freelancer.com treats the Freelancers worse than people going to hell?! Absolutely harrowing.

Now I have been given an automated message telling me that the decision is final, and I have breached the Terms and Conditions... HOW?

I am seriously considering contacting a lawyer in South Wales, Australia, and unless my account access is restored, I will be advocating for the site to be banned in my home country of Pakistan through PTA.

Freelancer.com username, personal data, gpdr

few years back when i used to take a chance with projects on freelancer.com, i did not submit to them displaying all my names/ middle names on my profile for any user. At some point they introduced a thorough identification and then all my names were displayed on my profile- i am a name-2 middle-names guy and my second name is in my username. I tryed 2 times to ask them why and how i can change at least my last name and all they could come up was with their current policies. I can be easily found on social media with all the info they display and i am not confortable with that.

Desired outcome: posibility to change the username and/or keeping just a first name and a last name capital eg "jhon m."

Freelancer.com My account is limited after payment from client.

I received $800 milestone from client 19 Jan.
I requested withdraw 19 Jan, freelancer.com locked the amount $800, and required ID verification. So my balance is negative.
I submitted document, and waited, but no reply.
I can't withdraw money, nor add money, nor post project, not submit ticket.
How could they steal $800, and no response?

I earned $800 after working from my client. Jan 20, They limited my account, and required ID verification. I submitted document, but after 48 hours, they are holding money, and no reply.

I sent message to freelancer message board, they are no reply.

Freelancer.com The freelancer closed the account and had all my funds. (romandevshev)

On January 29, they suddenly closed my account without specifying any reason. So all the funds in my account were robbed by the freelancer.

I was so unfair that I blew a ticket asking for a reason, but there was no news for a while.

So I wrote an article expressing my anger on TRUSTPILOT.COM, and a message from them came to my invox as if they were trying to save face.

The reason why my account was cut off is that a program that does not know ethics or morality determined that I manipulated the review and automatically deleted it.

Even so, there is no word about my funds.

I worked there for many years and to keep the terms and conditions, I refused to seduce clients to work outside, and sometimes the clients I met at Social also worked there, and their "smart" program made me instantly I called him a scammer and robbed the money I earned with blood and sweat.

It's really dog [censored].

Freelancer.com My account has been closed without any notification

My Account has been closed without any notification. So I submit to reopen my account and know the reason why closed. After 3 days, I received an email from a Freelancer support member named John C, but there is no correct reason and no way how to reopen the account. I don't think that I violate the terms of the freelancer platform and actually, I have never been violating terms and I tried to keep up with the terms. And again passed 3 days, and there is no other response from the support team. Really I want to reopen my account and if I violated the terms, I want to know correctly about that. Freelancer.com Closed my account and stole about $900.

Dear, everybody.

Hope you're doing well.
As a full stack developer, I worked at freelancer.com from 2021. I worked with many clients and they left full reviews.
Unfortunately, my account has been limited during two weeks because of one client as he awarded me with different account. So freelancer detected it as kind of money laundry and request me ID verification and answer their questions.

They proved my ID and listened my answer but they closed my account at 23/1/2023. I was very disappointed.
I lost nearly $900 on account and 3 live clients at the same time. My clients contacted support team but they didn't care about it.
I hope freelancer.com company would refund my money and reactivate my account for me and my clients as well.

It looks like freelancer platform sends automatic response.
They sent this message.

Freelancer.com Freelancer.com have closed my account and stole 150$.

They dont refund money that i have earned from clients,

They have stole my money and dont respond for days and weeks.

I am valeriy burykin from ukraine and i live in very difficult situation as war.

But they have closed my account without any reason and they dont tell me why did they suspended my account.

No reply from freelancer support.

Very disappointed.

Upwork refund money to client but freelancer.com swallow money when they suspend freelancers.

Freelancer.com Stole my money from account.

Hi everybody.
I worked at freelancer.com and today (23/1/2023), they closed my account.
I had $1240 in my account.
I sent a message to the support team to say sorry and ask to be reactivated or refund money.
But they send only ticket.
How can I see the ticket result when the account is closed?
In freelancer.com, I think I tried to not violate their rule.
Not working outside and create milestone on the freelancer.com and paid fee always.
I never worked without milestone.
If clients ask Anydesk or Teamviewer, first create milestone and worked.
So I am proud of it.
But they closed my account and said nothing about it.
How can I refund my money? I started to withdraw before it closed.
I disappointed and I am going to ask my client to never use freelancer.com.

Freelancer.com Closed account

They closed my freelancer account without any reason and without any notification. I came to realize that someone was trying to hack my account without my notice I had a project going on there at that time, more than $600. This was very painful and gave me a lot of panic attacks since I was waiting to withdraw the money and clear my debts and buy food for my kids since I have no other source of income and my children are starving. I have filled in tickets many times, but they always give me the same reply every time.

They said I had done some activities against their rules, which is absolutely not correct. Instead of giving me the details, they are referring to the whole user agreement, for which I am unable to make out the reason.

Freelancer.com Client initiated some funding for project assigning process, later not received any positive response.

Dear Sir/Madam

I Freelancer User [edited] and looking for data entry jobs which can be done from home. I choose this platform to continue my professional career. Recently I applied for bid, for that I get response from Aima F.@mairafirg and suggested me to give Freelancer Username , Name , Age and Country Name to their email: [protected]@gmail.com then I sent details through email. As per their instruction I submitted the filled form through https://freelancer-data-work-form01.paperform.co/ .With some terms and conditions they initiated to pay Rs1000 to [protected]@oksbi as security deposit and to fill with duly signed contract form and technical instruction form. After submission of both these form and security deposit acknowledgement, they initiated to contact @iRazoo_samual with telegram app. Later he initiated me to send the screenshot of security deposit 1000Rs to verify and to assign project. Then I sent him screen shot of security deposit which is paid to [protected]@oksbi account for the project plan 1. After verification he sent me 25 pages jpg file. Later he immediately initiated me to give international bank account details for the payment purpose. When he knows I didn't have any international bank account he told me to call with telegram app, he will suggest solution. After calling through telegram, he told me that many of freelancer users didn’t have international bank account, for such users they create account within freelancer platform for all types of currency transactions for that purpose we need to pay extra 3000Rs to create account. This process takes only 10 minutes, once the account is generated, he will share login details to me later we can withdraw this amount. (He didn’t give me time to think and quickly responding until rest of the payment transfer). He initiated to pay 3000Rs for the same UPI id [protected]@oksbi in which I have already paid security deposit 1000Rs. As per his instructions I paid Rs 3000 for the same UPI id. Once the money transferred to that account, he stopped responding to me. He told me the whole process takes 10 minutes time once the process is completed, he will send login details to me. I have waited for reply but no response from him. I started conversation with him to refund the money otherwise I will lodge the complaint against him and those who involved in this scam. He blocked and deleted all the conversation chat, but he doesn’t know I have already taken the screenshot. I gave him 24 hours’ time to refund, but he is not refunded. Whole these situations I explained with mail to original source [protected]@gmail.com and initiated them to refund my money. But they don’t give any response. I have attached all details for your kind reference. Please go through it and take necessary action to avoid other users couldn't face same problem in future which I faced, also suggest them to refund my payment. Hope you will do the needful.

I would like to apologize for this complaint against the freelancer site. This complaint is not against freelancer site, it is against the client those who scams freelancer users who looking for job/projects. I trust on them is my big mistake. As I am new user of this platform I learned more from this incident. The main intention of this complaint is to secure other freelancer users from such types of scams. I really appreciate for the freelancer support team for their positive response in shorter period of time and also thankful for their guidelines which gives me positive energy. I will try my level best to resolve this complaint at earliest. Another most important thing for freelancer user those who looking for jobs/projects, don't make any kind of payments like security deposit, processing charges etc to the client's, those who demands for jobs/projects outside freelancer platform and don't give them any response outside freelancer platform through mail, whatsapp, telegram or any other social media platform. I have attached all details to know all of you how the clients are acts when we paid them outside this platform. Please read all the terms and conditions of freelancer.com thoroughly before placing any bids.
Thanks to freelancer support team those who given me right direction to come out from such problems.

I'm very sad and heartbroken after reading your last response because it's very early for you guys to make that kind of decision-related to my account closure without any warning or temporary suspension, it's very easy for you guys to close an account but for me, it was my only bread and butter, I've worked hard to become a writer and someone told me to open a freelancer account and use my skills there, I left my job from a reputable firm and started my own freelancing. I'm a UK citizen, I've provided all the details which were officially attested by the government bodies of the United Kingdom, my passport, my picture, the utility bills of my UK residence, my UK number, etc. Everything which I provided was approved by Freelancer and after that, I started working on it, My bank account is UK based, and my location and everything, I just opened my freelancer account in the USA once when I went there for a family event, I didn't know that it's going to be a problem since I'm very new to freelancer. With that being said, I don't know which kind of terms and conditions you are referring to which I have apparently breached, If opening my account in the USA was a problem then I can understand and I won't be opening it in the future whenever I plan to travel next. Apart from this issue I would like to know the exact reason why my account was blocked, when I came back from the USA I logged into my account and it was asking for verification, I did the verification again like I did the first time and after that, you blocked my account by saying the picture is blurred, I have uploaded the high res pictures and not sure what went wrong. I would really appreciate a second chance here with a warning. Because apart from opening the account in the USA once I did nothing wrong. My bank account matches my details, my Id is UK based, my passport is British, and my address is Manchester. I live here. What kind of additional proof do you want so that you can authenticate my UK residency and citizenship?

To conclude, if you guys still want to close my account and affect my family and career then I would like to know the details below.

1) Please tell me the exact reason why my account was blocked apart from just logging in to my account in the USA once or twice.

2) What will happen to the hard-earned money which I haven't withdrawn from my Freelancer Account which was 250 GBP and the money which was about to be released by my clients was 600 GBP, how will we resolve this part? Will you at least allow temporary access to me so that I can complete the work and get my money which is apparently mine and not yours to keep?

3) Lastly, Is there any way I can recover my account, I'm ready to accept all your conditions If I get another chance from you as I was looking for a longer-term business relationship with a freelancer. If I was doing something wrong don't you think the professional way to go about that would have been to get a warning or a heads up, I didn't get any warning or suspension, overnight I just got an account closure warning from you guys.
