On the morning of 14 November 2025 I bought a pair of Puma sneakers from Footgear. The service I received from the salesman was superb and excellent. On the same day later when I got home I tried on the shoes to make sure they both fit and look good and feel good because I had only fit one side of the shoe, which was the right side. Whilst trying to walk around and feel the shoes the left shoe did not fit and look proportioned to the other. I tried tieing the shoes in different ways however still there was no comfort especially when walking. I decided to wake up in the morning and take back the shoes back to the store, I found a sales lady who I raised my grievance with and offered to exchange the shoes even if it's me paying for another pair no matter the price. I was then referred to the store manager who was at a meeting, a few minutes later he emerged from the back office and raised my grievance with him and he said to leave the shoes and my receipt with him because he was still in a meeting.i told him I am not leaving both the shoes and receipt, it's either I leave the shoes and take the receipt with me and this is when he said to me 'why am I acting in such a manner over a R722. 00 pair of shoes'.of which I found offensive because when I came to the store I was looking to buy a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths and those were unavailable, and proceeded to look for another pair of shoes with a salesman assisting me and he showed me offers and specials. Ultimately reaching a conclusion and bought the Puma shoes which were a great deal especially when I was looking to spend R1000-R1500 in store. He took a picture of the receipt and I left and came back after 30 minutes...when I returned the manager still gave me grief and attitude over what should be done because there weren't anymore size 9 on those specific Puma shoes, we had a back and forth argument as to who has to now bend for the other, because I had opted to buy another pair and I don't mind paying the balance if need be.i proceeded to pick out a pair of Reebok shoes which were R999. 99, whilst paying I found out that the lady who had referred me to the manager is the supervisor. I asked her for the store phone number and whether I could file a complaint and I was referred to the Footgear online service. In that being said I felt that my consumer rights were violated and my financial status undermined both by Footgear and the store manager.
