I am filing this complaint because Fidelity Warranty Services is once again refusing to honor a clearly covered repair under my Platinum Vehicle Service Contract, purchased in 2024 for my 2014 Toyota Sienna. This is the second time I have experienced the same pattern of behavior from Fidelity: they authorize a repair, then attempt to reduce or avoid payment without citing any contractual basis.
On May 15, 2026, Firestone diagnosed failed lower control arms, ball joints, and stabilizer links. These components are covered under the Platinum plan, which is an exclusionary contract. Fidelity’s own exclusions list confirms that the only suspension‑related exclusion is shock absorbers. The parts identified in my repair are not excluded, and the failure qualifies as a covered mechanical breakdown.
Firestone contacted Fidelity and received prior authorization for the suspension repair. Despite issuing authorization, Fidelity is now refusing to pay the full covered amount and is attempting to reduce the labor reimbursement without pointing to any clause in the contract that allows them to do so. The contract contains no labor‑rate caps, no labor‑hour limits, and no provision allowing Fidelity to retroactively reduce an authorized claim.
Because Fidelity is refusing to honor the full covered amount, no suspension repairs have been started. The only work I have authorized is the brake service, which I know is excluded and must be paid by me. I cannot proceed with the covered suspension repairs until Fidelity agrees to pay the full amount they authorized and are contractually obligated to cover. This suspension repair is safety‑critical and needs to be completed promptly.
This is the second time Fidelity has attempted to avoid paying for a legitimate, covered repair on this vehicle. Due to this repeated behavior, I have already filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and am pursuing resolution through that channel as well.
I am requesting that Fidelity Warranty Services honor the full covered amount they authorized so the repair can proceed without further delay
Desired outcome: Cover the full amount minus my deductible.
