My husband and I traveled with Senior Excursions (Wickham Park Senior Center) on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at your Fairfield Inn & Suites in Fort Collins, SD. I have issues I would like to address with you regarding our stay.
The check-in was a cluster. Luke, your clerk did very well with the task he was given. Never while traveling with a large group (54 folks) have I had to wait to show my ID to be issued my room key. We had been travelling since 9am and arrived at your hotel at 11 p.m. only to have to wait in line to show our ID to be issued our room key. Normally, the group leader is given the keys and hands them out.
Secondly, we were not told until we arrived at your hotel that we would not have access to hot water. I know some things you cannot control but your hotel staff should have notified our contact person before 11 p.m. to give us an opportunity to make other arrangements if we so desired.
The most serious issue I have with your hotel was not compliant ADA access to electrical outlets for Bi-pap and C-pap machines. My husband along with another elderly couple who both had Bi-pap machines did not have access to an electrical outlet. Your rooms have one center nightstand with no access to electricity. The only option your rooms provide is to run an extension cord across the bed to plug in the breathing machine (a terrible fire hazard).
My husband is a disabled Veteran and can't sleep without his Bi-pap machine. I don't know who else in our group is dependent on the machines besides the three people I mentioned. I would ask that you get that issue resolved quickly. It is an easy fix. I would hope Corporate would also confirm all their hotels give this access to their guests.
I do hope you and Fairfield Corporate will reach out to myself and my group and make an apology and refund for your oversights.
Also, due to doing a grouping book I was not allowed to provide my Marriott number before I left the hotel and therefore, did not receive points for my stay.
Claimed loss: I did email the Asst GM C. Schultz on 09/28/2026 and no response from her.
Desired outcome: Compensation and correct the issue of no available outlets in the guest rooms so a Bi-pap or C-pap or any other medical equipment can be plugged in or easy access at the nightstand for both beds.
