Fairfield Inn and Suites review: Early departure fee

The Fairfield Inn charged me an early departure fee when I requested to check out a day early. I had stayed from Sunday until Thursday. My reservation was through Friday. I routinely stay in hotels for work, Hilton being my brand of choice. I routinely check out early and have never once been charge by a Hilton or Holiday Inn brand hotel. I was at the front desk at 6:30 am in the morning and was told that the hotels policy requires to check out the night before. Ironically, I had considered doing that but saw that there was an inexperienced clerk at front desk that evening and thought better of it.
