Be very careful if you stay at one of the Extended Stay America Hotels with this nightmarish bed bug problem that many of their locations are apparently having. Extended Stay Hotels do have some appealing aspects to their franchise, like large refrigerators. But this potential bed bug problem needs to be taken seriously. Before you check in: ask to see the room and pull up the sheets across the whole bed to look for bed bugs. Look carefully there and other places where bed bug infestations may be occurring. Take your time and look carefully. You don’t want to wake up the next morning covered in painful, itchy bed bug bites! I’m dialed into the hotel business and this rumor about widespread bed bug infestations at Extended Stay America has been making the rounds a lot recently. Now, of course, you never know for sure if rumors are true, but I’ve heard this rumor about bed bugs at Extended Stay so often recently that I have considerable concern that it’s true. In any event, be very careful in checking for bed bugs if you do stay at an Extended Stay America Hotel.
Recommendation: Try to find an alternative hotel, but if you have to stay at an Extended Stay America Hotel, look very carefully for bed bugs in the room before you check in
