Edward Jones - proceeds of sold equities
It's hard to believe that a large, financial institution could mess up once or even twice, but four times?
Three years ago I requested EJ sell $20K US equities be sold and have the proceeds (cheque) sent to my Canadian address, not my Florida address.
And I also requested the cheque be sent via overnight courier, which I happily agreed to pay for.
After the stipulated time of sale and settlement of account a cheque was cut.
Guess what? The next day — no cheque.
Matter-of-fact no cheque for the next 3 days, however I was assured that the cheque was on its way.
On the 4th day I received a call from my sister in Florida who said: "I have a UPS envelope to your attention. What should I do?"
I promptly called my broker, who apologized profusely and called head office in St. Louis to issue a new cheque and send it UPS overnight at their cost.
Cheque was in hand the next day; actual timing of sale to cheque in hand was
9 business days with a weekend thrown in for good measure.
Imagine if I needed the monies to close a deal, pay for an operation or timely loan to a family member?
But it doesn't end there: It happened again and again with the same results.
So what do you do on the 4th attempt?
Spell it out in capital letters and beg, grovel and cajole like this:
"I beg you for the last time, please send cheque to my Canadian address, do not send to my fla address. Do not send by regular us post. Send cheque by ups overnight delivery. I will pay."
Result: Sale of equities at Monday's bell; settlement Wednesday; notified of sent cheque by UPS for delivery Thursday; make that Friday; sorry, Monday;
again sorry Tuesday; actually it was posted by regular mail. As of Wednesday,
I expect a call from my sister in Florida, most likely tomorrow.
So how do you deal with a "shower-of-fools" who cannot get anything right?
I guess you look elsewhere to park your money.

Edward Jones - tax return preparation for the last thirty years continually and for clients as well as others but always the same individuals
Ricky Dale Williams has NEVER stopped doing tax returns since he was able to including the entire time he has been a financial adviser for Edward JONES. Terrible experience with Laura Z. Guerrero. She claims she is trying to help people make money for retirement, college savings, or even vacations, but does quite the opposite. She does not help you understand financial management like she claims, but talks down to you instead. When I first opened my account with Edward jones, Scott Skinner advised me to invest in an annuity with prudential. This was within my tax deffered retirement account. I already have enough retirement income from pensions and s.s. to live on. shortly after this Scott moved to another office .I believe that Scott advised me this way for the big commission on the annuity!!!Read full review
My wife was trying to get a job as an advisor with Edward Jones, she was getting advice from an advisor Michael R. Kopec from Michigan city IN. Edward Jones - electronic access to account information
After 25+ years of investment partnership with Edward Jones, I closed my remaining accounts in January 2017. I had received the 2016 1099s - one of which had incomplete figures. I was to "check" weekly for those complete figures which would be "finalized" by March 15, 2017 if not prior to that date.
I have (HAD) on line access to my Edward Jones accounts until - with no prior warning - on March 7, 2017 could no longer access the information on line as my account(s) had been closed.
This means I cannot electronically bring over the 2016 figures to complete my 2016 taxes.
In this age of electronically obtaining information, it is mind boggling to me that Edward Jones would not allow the access to account tax information at the very least until after April 15th! When I talked to "customer service" (hahahahaha) the response was "too bad, so sad"!
I have warned the members of my family and at least 2 of my friends (who have EJ investment accounts) of this situation.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Just got my 2nd robo call at 6:25 PM Tuesday November 8th. I already registered a complaint regarding the first call I received a few days ago. I am also on the NO CALL LIST. I am also aware that consumer surveys do not apply. But why call a client who says not to? This has been ongoing for 2 years. In December 2015 Edward Jones was court ordered to disburse the funds from my mothers Trust account NLT 31 March. Have been an Edward Jones client for many years. After relocating to Bullhead City, Arizona, I met with and completed an account transfer to their local financial fraudster, Kari Hoffman. This advisor has continously made trades from my account without my express permission. She has bullied me unmercifully to buy a high commission (for her) annunity. This woman needs to be fired and prosecuted for her fradulent actions.Read full review
This company has been a real bully. They have lost a gr6, at deal of money because their fees are high and the trust is small. Around 27, 000.00 as of now and could have released the funds but instead wanted court order. After almost a year, about huge attorney fee and time the court gave them the order.
