items never stocked
I'm tired of going to buy items that are on sale and nothing is ever stocked. I always check product availability before going and it will tell me it's in stock, get there and nothing! I even check while standing in front of whatever I'm looking for and in stock means it's not there until the day after the sale is over and it magically appears. Not to mention rude manager who makes up rules and won't honor sale prices.
inept, rude cashier/manager: fire her now
Items rang up wrong. She would not adjust. Said I was being rude for wanting the correct price, which was posted on the sign. This was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. She should be fired and I should be compensated for this upsetting retail experience. Meanwhile, her low-life friend said she's had enough of my mouth. I said, "This is great: I'm rude because I want the correct price!" Skanks should not be allowed to loiter and distract the already unqualified cashier, then be rude to customers. RSVP

I went to store #14617 at 8:00 pm and all the good you put outside was all ready in the store blocking all the isle where I could not even get down the Isle that I wanted items from. I know the workers has to bring them in at night however it should not be as early as it was. If it was there at 8:00 pm all ready how much earlier was it actually put in the store blocking the isles. The weather was clear and sunny all this day so it is not due to the rain. The store is not kept up clean as other Dollar General Stores. Thank You and I hope this problem can be resolved.

This store is very dirty, cluttered, and the isles are impossible to pass through because stuff is all over the floor. The shelves are almost empty in some areas. No carts are available. I had to walk outside and clear around the store to the back in order to find a cart. When I asked who the manager of the store was, the women said "I am, do you have a problem?" She said it in a disgusted and almost threatening tone of voice so I didn't engage her. I won't go back. People are constantly complaining that there is never a checker or they have to stand in line forever. I hope something can be done because treating customers like this will run the business off.
I live in small town in Illinios have been to at least a dozen different stores in different towns. less than a handful are always neat and well stocked. I think it comes down to management. There is definitely a staffing problem. They expect staff to run back and forth between stocking and cashiering. If the manager is a good manager, they are able to retain a good team. It also comes down to type of district manager in any location. the problems start at corporate level, they want the most out of the lowest paid employees on the floor. Not enough room for amount of stock sent to some smaller locations.
That seems to be the biggest complaint about Dollar general, isles full of carts with the mdse and nothing put on the shelves. This company needs to take some lessons on organization of there stores and train there employees . Hold them accountable for there actions. It could be a great little store if there employees were friendly and you had mdse to buy

I once worked with the company. Enjoyed the customers for the most part. Worked with some great woman. Had issues with the night cashiers jobs that were put upon me. I had to go light duty so that helped some. Came to the point where I couldn't do my job as night cashier and offered mornings/mids on the days she had open. At that point she was no longer willing to work with me, she let me go. We went through a few employees during my time. The only constant with this store is that when the manager works, her boyfriend is there. He is either standing/following customers to see if stealing, hovering over the gate to registers when she is at them. Always jumping in guest conversations, directing wherever they might need to go. Helps with truck, recovery, hangs in stockroom when she's back there. I was just wondering if that was normal or does every employee get to have that benefit? Time and time again she has gotten away with it. We would get in trouble for not getting much done while she is getting her stuff done plus with help. Now, I was told to go to another store and shop. I gave her a few days to get over it. And now they both ignore me and my husband. It isn't how a manager should be to a customer. Civil not rude.

Store 14211 kalida ohio. This manager is a very rude lady. When she talks with me she just laughs like I'm a joke. She always has a comment on how she is fully staffed like, she don't need any help. Ok, so answer me this. When I shopped there today, Rolltainers were at every endcap. It was very hard to get thru the aisle. Shelves were not recovered and low. So, miss manager. Stop talking down to me, talking to me like I'm a joke. You obviously do not have the staff that knows how to take care of your store. Your place looked no different than any other dollar general. Maybe if you gave me a position, your stock would be on the shelves instead of sitting in the boxes on Rolltainers. Lower your ego and stop acting like you are better than others.

What has happened to this location? It use to be really neat and well stocked. It seems that the manager was on leave and the substitute is not as good. The staff does not seem to follow thru on stocking and you have to go search for someone to ring you up. The aisle are cluttered and you can't push your cart thru. I hope you can bring back the previous manager. She ran the store so well and it felt like a community store.

i live in charleston sc and i have the exact problem. i go in to buy the sale items on the ad and there are never any on the shelf or in over stock at the top of the shelves. THEN MAGICALLY they appear on the shelves after the sales over.
