$200 visa card
Dish advertises they give a $200 prepaid Visa card for signing up for their satellite tv service plus internet. When I called them asking about it, they said I needed a code found in some letter they send. The advertisement says to mention code "card 200" when ordering. I've called four times and in their company notes they have my previous call on record concerning my request about the card but they always play dumb and deny they know anything about how to get the card. It's just really strange. They advertise one thing and plead ignorance when asked about it.
What a scam. Voted #1 in customer service? Joke. Classic bait and switch. Beware.
Desired outcome: Send a $200 prepaid visa gift card as advertised.

Cable service
I am not a major sports watcher but I do watch one NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. Two years ago at the beginning of the football season, Dish network took Fox off the air for the entire season. Then last year they did the same thing. Now this year they took NBC off the air during football season. I pay a lot of money each month so I can watch what I want to watch on tv, but for the last three years I have missed several Dallas Cowboys games because of Dish being in a contract dispute with one of the networks. Also, they keep taking good channels off and replacing them with crap like, Halloween Haunted House or Christmas Fireplace. I don't pay $130 per month to watch a fake fireplace, I pay that much to get to watch good shows on tv. But Dish is slowly, but surely taking all of the good shows off and replacing them with crap! I have been a customer for 5 years now but I have had enough. If things don't change, I am going with a different cable provider.
Desired outcome: Stop taking channels off during sports seasons and stop replacing good channels with crap
Dish not authorize to take money out of my account
My husband and I called dish to get information about there service while on the phone she asked me for my debt card number on my card she told me it would not be charged it was to see that it was real card not fake I gave her the information we were approved for there service but when she told me the total price we couldn't afford it at that time she told me she hold it for 30 days if I choose to get it I would call back about 2 weeks latter I get a email stating dish took out of my account 155.99 on 10/29/2021 dish did not have permission to take the money out of my account also had some one scheduled to come to my home for insulation on saturday I called dish on 10/29/21 to ask for my money back and talked to brad from virginia office I I told him this also caused me to be over drawn and wanted that money back as well and was told they couldn't give me that money back of my over draft just the 155.99 this isn't right I would not have been over drawn if dish would not have taken it out of my account in the first place, you can reach me at [protected] thank you roberta fischer or my email is [protected]@outlook.com
Desired outcome: i want dish to pay my over draft fee from my bank i know its only 30.00 it is the principle
Program selection (there is none)
Why can't there be christmas in december where it belongs. Medicare ads are just for dish so you can make money I'm paying for junk! Give us more channels for the same money or clean up channels. You DISH are robbing your customers. Clean your act up.
Dish tv
1- 9-2019 we started with Dish at $79.53 with no add on's now to date Dish is charging us $130.42 and again with no add on's, in fact Dish has eliminated channels that we had in the beginning.
2- Called customer service complained about the movie/show banner that appears on the bottom of the screen when you turn the TV on or change channels...the banner stays visible for 20 to 30 seconds over a movie. CS told me "It stay's nothing they can do about it"
3- When I change channels to view a new show I get "Programming not authorized" and the notice stays on for 3 to 5 seconds
4- UP GRADING DISH TV - Comes on when were watching a movie and it comes on anytime of the day and yes I have programmed and reprogrammed Dish ...doesn't work
5- Dish replaces channels with garbage, channels that we had been watching since we got Dish and then they take the good stuff off and replace it with garbage
6- While watching something on TV all of a sudden Dish will change the station to some off the wall show
7- I will be watching the 2nd TV while my wife is watching the other TV and I will change the channel to 299 from an other station. Once I have changed the channel and started watching a show Dish will change the channel to some odd channel then the TV goes dead at which time I have to reboot the entire system. Rebooting the system is comes natural to us we do it so often.
8- Dish keeps loosing TV stations such as NBC, when will it end?
9- One can't channel surf without running into the BIG notice "NOT AUTHORIZED FOR THIS CHANNEL" No kidding remove that channel!
10- Programs we have set to record failed and started recording some goofy movie or it will only record the beginning or the end of the show we want to watch
Yes Customer Service was contacted numerous times and nothing was accomplished sorry to say
This is only a few of my complaints, looks like Direct TV wasn't so bad after all.
I also agree about losing channels i.e. NBC and Root TV for Basketball season. When contract is done considering going to HULU live or at least fubotv for sports. Would probably save money.
Google nest add-on
At the time of the installation of DISH (July 2021), the tech rep offered to install two Google Nest outdoor cameras. He said the price was just under $700 for both cameras including installation. Most important, he said there would be no monthly charges for the service. At $700, I was led to believe that high cost covered all services. The Nest service at the time of installation included real time camera, back up of activity, and ability to identify faces, observe movements etc.
At the end of a month, the service dramatically decreased. All we have now is an erratic real-time view and poor snapshots of activity at best. We began to receive pop-up messages that in order to maintain the service, we needed to upgrade to a $5.99 monthly fee. What we were not told at the time of installation is that the service that was demonstrated was actually a promo to show the upgraded service. However, the DISH representative explained this as the actual service, with no additional fees. We had no idea it was a promo, and nothing to indicate that it was a promo.
We contacted DISH customer service several times, explaining that their representative misrepresented the service. The first time, we were switched to a "higher level", who had us go over the entire story again, and then placed us on hold and never returned (we realized no one was coming back after 35 minutes on hold). We called a second time a few days later, only to be told that DISH didn't charge for the service, but that we should call GOOGLE nest.
To be clear, this complaint is not about Nest, it's about the Dish's technician misrepresentation and fraudulent claim that there is no fee with the service. The rep never said that there was a one-month free demo of the premium Nest service and a $5.99 monthly fee afterwards. He repeated several times that the $700 was all we had to pay. After numerous calls, Dish has walked away from their claim that there are no fees to continue with the service I was receiving from day one. Now, I am stuck with $700 of cameras that provide almost nothing. They refuse to "hear" the part of our complaint that states their rep lied about the service. We would not have paid $700 for the cameras if there was a monthly fee involved. Our second call to DISH resulted in more of the same: we don't charge the fee. They refuse to acknowledge our complaint that the tech, who was an employee and agent of DISH, is the one who sold us the cameras on behalf of DISH with fraudulent information.
Resolution - Dish should pay for the monthly fee to continue the services that were promised at the time of installation. If not, I want my money back the cameras removed, and the holes created to install the cameras both inside and outside our house repaired.
Desired outcome: Dish should pay for the monthly fee for services promised at the time of installation. If not, I want my money back the cameras removed, and the holes created to install the cameras both inside and outside our house repaired.
Driver driving recklessly plate number bsf6001

Desired outcome: Termination please

We miss all our programs on 10TV. Local news, Norah O'donnell, Lets Make a Deal, Price is right, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, the Browns football. We miss these programs! We are retired and watch 10TV all day long. You are only hurting people like us. I have sent messages to Tegna also.

Desired outcome: Please settle your dispute with Tegna
Lies
I asked very specific questions about specific stations when I signed up with Dish Network. I was promised channels that they didn't even have a current contract with. When I complained they said that it was an independent representative so they were not responsible for the lies and could not release me from my contract without fees. Then they dropped our local sports, the main reason we even have a TV service in the first place. Again, they will not let you out of your contact without huge fees because programming is subject to change. They are the worst because THEY ARE LIARS, GIGANTIC LIARS! AVOID ANY CONTRACT WITH THEM!
Desired outcome: Release from contract without fees.
Services not working as promised
On Oct 5, 2021 we had dish network installed. The tech was here almost 5 hours. Once the tv was installed with Dish Network, we immediately lost our internet and phone service. So Dish Network never worked from the moment it was installed. We were not able to watch movies because of no internet. We made 3 calls to Dish because of issues. Each call was over 40 minutes. They offered us $50 because of inconvience. The techs response to the issue was to call comcast (our internet/phone/tv provider). We had not cancelled any services at this time. We were planning to have Verizon DSL for internet and phone. On Oct 6 the verizon tech came and stated their DSL service would be too slow to operate downloads for Dish Network. We called Dish Network to cancel. Service was never as promised. Once they cancelled the service, our phone and internet was restored. Now we have no TV. I called Comcast and explained the situation. A comcast tech came to the house and showed us the problem. Dish had spliced into their cooper clad steel cable. Dish was supposed to have used their own 100% cooper new wire. They acutally disconnected our comcast cable instead of running new wire, which resulted in our disconnection of internet and phone. When they did disconnect the tv service our comcast should have been restored, but couldn't because of their splicing our comcast lines
Desired outcome: We don't believe we should have to pay a $480 disconnect fee for services that never worked from the moment of installation.
we were contacted by a senior representative who was able to resolve and close our account. thank you
I went with dish because other services fees kept climbing but have been very unhappy with dish because they no longer have CBS because of contract dispute and now am having problems with getting my streaming services and do not want to pay for a service call. I would never suggest this service to anyone.
NBC off Air
I am very disappointed. I recently subscribed to Dish Network. I live in the country and it's hard to get channels by antenna. I watch a lot of local channels with NBC being my go to channel. I get to watch two weeks and now it's off the air. I'm sure I will not be getting any credits. When I signed up for Dish it never mentioned it would soon not be broadcasting NBC. I sure they will not let me out of contract either. This is very sad that you sign up for service stuck in a contract then they pull channels that you can no longer view. Something needs to change. This is not right to the customers.
Desired outcome: Please put NBC back in air
TV Service
We sign up for your service about 6 months ago we had nothing but problems with our boxes in the house on both TV's they will freeze up and we have to unplug them and wait for them to reload. We had one of your service representative come out and he changed the boxes but the problem never got fixed. We called several times and was told to unplug the box and wait for it to reload. I was also told not to change the channel to fast because that might be what is causing the problem. We tried that but it still would freeze up. It has become a problem almost ever night when we are watching TV that one or both boxes will freeze up. I canceled our service because of all the problems with your service and now one of your customer service agents told me that we owe Dish TV $380.00. I do not feel that is very fair for Dish to charge me for poor service when I had one of your service technician come out and it still didn't fix the problem. We put up with this problem for 6 months. Please let me no your decision if we owe you 380.00
Desired outcome: cancel the 380.00
Automatic pay required to get channels promised
Have been a Loyal customer for at least over 1 year. Dish TV say a customer must sign up for Automatic Payment to ensure they get their Money! Have had two local channels removed due to dispute with cable company raising charges to local channels; (Komo 4, King 5, Kiro 7) that are in the TV channel package when we sign up and twice the local channels have been removed due to dispute. The first time a local channel was removed, Dish charged me $7.00 to get channel back and of which was NOT mentioned in the contract by Dish to the consumer that this would happen. I should NOT be charged any extra because of GREED !
Desired outcome: QUIT THE GREED AND MAKING CONSUMERS PAY FOR YOUR GREED!!!
Lost local channel
I am very upset I lost channel 5 and if it's not replaced asap I'm changing services-I watch this channel everyday because it's our local channel!
Desired outcome: Give our channel back!
Terrible program guide
1. Movie descriptions often contain spoilers that tell you the outcome of the movie. The most common are movies described as being about a "doomed romance." This information usually ruins the entire movie because the mystery of whether the relationship succeeds or not is the whole point of the movie. This information is not revealed until the end of the movie. What happens at the end of a movie should never be revealed in the description.
2. Incoherent desciptions in broken sentences that make little sense. For example: "A poignant story about a boy who goes to."
3. inaccurate episode numbers. It's very common for the first episode of a series to be listed as any number other than episode 1. The final episode of a 12 episode 1st season will be listed as perhaps episode 16 or 24 or maybe even episode 1. It doesn't matter what channel the show is on. It is extremely rare for the episode number to be correct.
All of these problems started after Dish stopped using Gracenote for its guide information and it's been a mess ever since. Why do they keep doing this? Why are the authors of the program information so illiterate?
Desired outcome: Fix the errors and get rid of program descriptions that contain spoilers. Especially anything that includes phrases like "doomed romance."
Service cancellation - return equipment
On Aug 24th, I terminated my service at the end of my contract. The agent verified my info and arranged for a receiver return box to be shipped to me. Three weeks later, when I had not received the box, I called back and found out they had sent it to some other address not associated with me. We went through the process of verifying info again and the agent said a box would arrive within a few days. Three days later, a UPS agent appears at my door with a label but no box. Once more, I had to call Dish and go through the process. Finally, a box arrives and I pack up the device and take to a UPS store. Today, I receive an email that due to late return of equipment, a $379 charge has been made to my account. For the fourth time, I call Dish and the supervising agent tells me they will removed the charge after the equip has been received even though I gave him the UPS tracking number for the box.
Four call to terminate service and each time the agent tries to convince me to "Re-connect". This organization is lost.
Blackout of at&t sportsnet
In the last few months I switched from Direct Tv to Dish Network. At that time I was very clear that they did have AT&T Sportsnet Pittsburgh. Which the sales rep. confirmed. Last week in the middle of a baseball game they pulled it off the air They stated that this would only affect a few customers. I am one of those few customers. I was paying extra for this service
Desired outcome: Cancel Dish and go back to Direct tv without any cost to me
Dish satellite service, in particular, I am paying for a service i'm not receiving the loss of att sports/root sports
See above
Desired outcome: DISH must restore the service and provide refunds for the time the service is not available, as promised.
Unacceptable blackout of root sports!
I will not accept any reason for turning off Root sports whatsoever! I would never ever have switched to Dish without my local teams or my local channels on TV. There are 3 games left in the season our team is tied to go to the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. I have a large family and group of friends coming here for the games this weekend. They and I will never accept this. They will never switch over and we will switch as soon as we can. Are you Kidding me 3 games left and you turn it off, you know exactly what is going on in this neck of the woods with the Seattle Mariners and you do this. If you don't fix this you will loose us and many many others too. This is completely unacceptable. Do not give the the ridiculous statement of I'm sorry, with 3 games left and 20 years for this state's team to even have a chance and you shut it off with sorry!
