The bus driver, called "T," was not cooperative with handicapped people and their families. I stood out in the rain trying to put a walker under the bus, the driver was on the bus and ignoring me. Finally, I called out to her, and she said, "Just leave it there, and I will get it."
We got to the point of not asking for help. She rarely lowered the bus to the lowest of steps. Mom struggled to get on and off the bus. We had no help getting her walker on and off the bus. We did it ourselves.
I witnessed her never assisting anyone with a handicap get on and off the bus, nor assisting them with their walkers.
This driver did not follow the directions you sent. She took her own shortcuts that led to hours of us being on the bus. IF she doesn't follow the directions you give her, then why does she work for you?
I am disgusted with this whole situation. Now, my mom is under a doctor's care due to undue stress on her leg. I think if she had not had to lift her leg so high to get on and off the bus, she might have avoided the pain she is now in.
If a driver has no patience for people with walkers, she shouldn't drive with them on board.
