I have applied for my daugher's forename who was captured incorrectly at DHA, I applied on 15.07.2025 at Bredasdorp branch. They advised and wrote on the copy of application that it takes 9 - 12 Months. Its now 13 Months and as of yet no one has contacted me to advise this has been completed. I took it upon myself to send an email to HACC@dha.gov.za on 25.03.2026 to advise on the progress of such application. Received a response to send my ID number, which I did, as of date no response. I Also made a call to the Department of Home affairs last month June 2026 and the agent told me this application is still in process and that she will escalate this as this is past the due time. I have been waiting and nothing as of yet. I then contacted the DHA line 012 338 8000 as the toll free number 0800601190 is not available. I provided all my details the same as the first call last month. This agent proceed to tell me that there is no such application on their system? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? How can something like this get lost so easily on a government system? I cant contact the DHA offices in Bredasdorp as they do not pick up their phones and the number on Google does not belong to them. How am I suppose to get my childs name corrected I paid for a service I lost a whole day from work by sitting in the qeue at DHA offices, I cant go back to the offices as I can not get off work.
Can some one please direct me to the correct person/people to get this resolved. My daughter is walking around with a name thats not hers. She is in Grade 12 and we wanted to get this resolved before applying her to any universities.
