I downloaded this app in hope of tracking our tax data, without having to constantly call the IRS or use their website.

The download and EVERY attempt to use the app was a huge waste of time.

It crashes when you attempt to open it with more than one other app open.

It rejects your inquiries constantly. It gives a 'SPECIAL CHARACTERS NOT ALLOWED' error message when you enter money amounts, but the dollar sign is HARD CODED into the application itself!

If they can't get their act together on IRS2GO, they should get rid of IT; because It's just a piece of crap-ware right now.

The idea behind this is to be able to view what's up with your refund. Checked it daily(minus weekends) for 3wks until my check "ARRIVED" & it never failed to tell me that there was nothing it could tell me about my refund and to make sure I allow 4 weeks from filing date to get info. (Checked it again today just to see if it had changed since I already deposited my refund and its still the same.
So, the point to this app? I assume its to get a slew of folks to use the app to throw them off temporarily so they can get some work done...if that's the case then, Brilliant! Otherwise, go back to the drawing table.

Why go through all the trouble in making an app for the consumers when it doesn’t even work. I added all the required info that was 100% accurate, and nothing can be found, as is the case with everyone else that used the app.

The IRS is great at taking money, but they do a piss poor job in sending out refunds in a timely manner. They estimated that it would take 3 weeks, it’s been over a month for direct deposit.

They’d be better off removing this app until they can afford a competent software team that can deliver; having this garbage app be their official return status app is a joke and makes them look like the fools that they are.

The returns that were sent to the IRS through the mail were not processed from March through June due to the coronavirus work stoppage, and the resulting backlog is taking forever for them to process, especially with reduced staffing from coronavirus distancing requirements. So if your return has not yet made it into their pipeline, it will show up as “Refund Status Error - information does not match - please reenter”.

A more accurate error message here would make this a truly useful app. But knowing what the message really means, it’s still a good way to check to see whether your return has been processed yet.

I got all of my information from a helpful human being at the IRS that I reached early this morning (see gethuman.com). I sent my return in to Utah on June 23, and she said it would be about another month before it was processed.

I Sabrina Sanchez have done what you have told me I have not receive my refunds for 15th 2015 2016 and 2020 I’m out Ray I’m all mad I am mad and furious and disappointed and depressed I am a victim of identity self for the past I would say 20 years I don’t know what to do anymore I feel like giving up even trying to do my taxes how many have to do my taxes this year and I’m not gonna get anything why because you think that I’m making so much money when other people are using my social and other states I have said numerous of police reports and I still haven’t gotten my refunds I don’t know who’s going to read this but I need some help my number is 719-581-0186If I can speak to a supervisor that would be super I need somebody’s help I deserve that money cause I work hard for my money and I believe that the IRS owes me a lot of money please answer

This app doesn’t even deserve a rating I’ve been trying to get my refund info and this stupid tells me my info is wrong or doesn’t match I put all 3 of my CORRECT info and it still says it doesn’t match like what I’ve tried the online one and that didn’t even work but yet they swear up and down that this app work or online smh I filled march I was supposed to have my money in December but haven’t gotten it yet I tried calling and multiple times and still nothing and then when I actually had a chance to talk to somebody she was very rude and disrespectful then said have the audacity to tell me I have to wait and extra NINE stupid weeks and to use this app for my refund status or use the website to see but none of them worked smh this is the third time the irs told me that like are you kidding they playing with my money and I don’t like it..it’s pissing me off !

Lead to believe app will track 2020 stimulus but it doesn’t if you were not required to file 2019 tax return. My 2018 adjusted gross income was $11K and I was not required to file in 2019 because of low income. My social security check is automatically deposited to the same bank for many years as are my refunds when I got them. Therefore IRS has deposit information for 2020 stimulus and as of today 4/17 it is not deposited. This app only tracks for those who filed taxes for 2019. Meanwhile those with higher incomes seem to the stimulus before the more needy. Oh and if released alphabetically by last name, my last name begins with “B”. Part time work is no longer available to me to supplement my social security and can’t get through anywhere to file unemployment. It is ridiculous that I should be required to “wait 21 days” to call IRS under these circumstances!

this app is as useless as the government that created it. i filed my taxes with the short form electronically with direct deposit on 2/22. i have received no refund yet as of 5/4. my taxes were filed properly and accepted by the irs within 24hrs. i have received no communication from the irs. i have followed up with phone calls and i use THIS APP daily to check for progress. 71 days later this app says EXACTLY the same thing it has said EVERY ONE of these 71 days:

“Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available.

Please Note: For refund information, please continue to check here, or visit the Refunds page on IRS.gov. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day.”

USELESS APP. USELESS GOVERNMENT. glad i have paid my taxes properly and on time for the 30 years that i have worked! while my country burns, and my finances collapse... i can count on this government to absolutely fall in all of it’s obligations! this app is exactly what you can expect. don’t bother!

I followed directions.

I used irs.gov Turbotax last year and this for the incentive. I answered all the questions for long form so my property taxes would show, and I would get the refund from my state.

Turbotax filed the long form last year.

I answered all the questions this year for the long form.

Turbotax filed the short form and $1,200 'refund'.

I had answered, I had the first $600 and not the second.

I have the screenshots of the questions and answers.

Turbotax from irs.gov did this.

Last year, the form said Turbotax.

This year, the form had no mention of Turbotax.

Nevertheless, I received a letter I would have $600.

Next, I received a letter I would not receive $1,200.

I would receive nothing.

I called that number for Review, if I did not it meant I accepted the determination.

I successfully navigated the automated phone response, plus 25 minutes wait.

I spoke to the Review person, who realized what the problem was, said no more than that and said he would put me thru to Accounts.

..the wait period announcenent was 60 plus minutes.

..after 45 minutes of please hold on, the automated phone response abruptly changed to not available at this time and hung up.

After a few days, I checked the app and it does not reflect any change from the Review.

How does the federal government think their socialist programs proposed would work any better?

This works not at all.

Following your tax return, as indicated here, is misleading.

First, the IRS encourages taxpayers to navigate the necessary jungle of online preparation and submission.

However, an insurmountable hurdle is the prerequisite of a cell phone number. Even if you prepare all forms electronically and try to submit a completed tax return online, a functioning cell phone is required. In 2021 my landline phone number was repeatedly rejected. Whether a cell phone number is more secure, a better identifier, or whatever, no alternative mechanism exists to circumvent this requirement!

Subsequently, not having a home printer, I had to find a commercial business to print my iPad-prepared return, which was submitted via US Postal Service.

Second, the IRS2Go data apparently does not include returns sent by US Postal Service. Tracking online the status of my 1040 return, submitted in early October , has yielded no results as of early February 2022.

Luckily reaching an IRS agent by telephone, I confirmed that my tax return had been received. However, no other information was available as to my anticipated refund.

Using IRS2Go, most recently as February 3, 2022, no online information is retrievable. Having correctly entered all required data (Social Security number, date of birth, filing status, name, address, refund amount (as it appeared on my submitted return), IRS2Go repeatedly responded no match existed. My entries were erroneous. I should correct them and try again.

Thus, IRS statements on information about processing of returns and refunds are currently misleading, if not totally inaccurate.

Even if problems of understaffing, inadequate funding, Covid-19, etc. exist, the IRS should amend its public claims.

I have complained several times about my suspended account of my id.me and up till now no response rather am conversation with a robot that give me automated messages. And more than 4 free tickets have been given to me yet to no avail of reopening my account for me.

Is this how poor your services are? I demand answers please and my id.me account address is [protected]@gmail.com

I used and checked this app 2-3 times daily. After 21 days from filing(has to be 21 days before you can call and ask about status) called and was told selected for identification verification. App didn't tell me that or that I have to make an appointment to go in and let them physically see that this is me. Then wait up to 9-------I said 9 weeks to get our return after.
Why didn't the app at least say to contact office?
Don't waste space with this app!

This app severs no purpose... shocker I know. I guess it's an attempt to show that the organization is up with the technology of the present. It's not. If you need a list of phone numbers for the IRS, this app is awesome! But if you need someone to answer the call you place to that number this app is not for you. Then again if you need this app chances are life is already complicated enough, so don't add to it by downloading this app. Plus they track you with it.

The irs is pitiful, the workers can’t get their jobs done, no phone support whatsoever! Whoever is running the IRS should be impeached immediately. Millions of Americans are desperately hurting out here in America financially and the irs can’t even give exceptional customer service , can’t answer the phones, the call volumes are always high, the call wait time is over 1 hour, can’t even depend on a government agency to do their job! Zero STARS BELOW ZERO STARS!

I have called the IRS, and been on the website been dealing with this for 2+ years trying to receive my 2018 refund. I get no where. No one can help everything is automated. When I went on the website to check for my status there was never a 2018 option. Why and where is my refund this is like a chase game, that’s so frustrating to make ppl just give up! Where is a number to speak to an actual person? All I want is the refund, if it was the other way around it would be different :(

The BS you get when using is that the app says "We have received your return" and that you will get your refund 21 days after they received it, but they don't tell you when they received it, only that they received it. That is an unacceptable 21 day window. After waiting over a month, I don't think it is unreasonable to assume that there should be detailed, updated information available. This app smacks you in the face and says "when you get your refund, that's your acknowledgement."

I need a username and key to use the app. I have a username I think, but I don’t know where to get the key. Nothing online has been provided this information or been helpful in any way. Like everything in government, this has been a circular [censored]show with no answers, a lot of frustration, and I’ve been on hold with the IRS phone line now for an hour. I can’t access my online account with the authentication through the app, and I can’t access the auth code in the app without the app key ‍♂️wtf

This app is extremely inaccurate. It's very glitchy and low quality. I had been waiting for my refund a few weeks and I every time I had checked this App it would always say the same thing every time; "We have received your refund and it's being process." Now I was like OK but I had FINALLY got my refund back a few days ago and I just wanted to check it again to see if it was that smart and accurate and had said the same thing it did before! Conclusion is; DO NOT GET THIS APP. Just be patient.

Spent so much time trying to register only to find out my address is entered wrong in their system not by my own mistake mind you.

What’s the solution? No way to view Information about your account. Have to make an appointment and skip a day of work just to see my account balance at the tax office.

IRS is horrible to deal with on any given day, but I feel bad for people thinking this app will help or simplify anything.

Why can’t the IRS just have a phone number like every other ordinary organization?

Starting using the app . But it doesn’t help anything, it’s hasn’t been helpful in years for any type of payments anymore . My sister can’t get her back in 3 years now and I got my refund stolen and they have yet to find out who did it . My status went from processing to still processing which means there’s something wrong . They never tell me what and I gotta try and wait for a letter . Last year it was a stupid 100.00 mistake on my business tax and they just didn’t send me the refund . I wonder what’s there excuse this year

This app and the website is unreliable at best. I filed on Jan. 17 and had an expected refund date of Feb. 20. Well that date came and gone so I started checking religious on both the app and website. At one point, the site said that I entered in the info wrong (which I did not) and the app said I should receive my refund on Feb. 27. That was a few days ago and since then I have been unable to receive another confirmation of the 27th date. Here's to hoping that one time only answer was correct and meant for me. Good luck everybody.
