After using my last HP laptop for over 9 years, I decided to try Dell. My Dell 16-5640 laptop died in less than 2 months. A complete operating system failure. After 2 days on the phone with Dell tech support we have restored the operating system to the factory settings, resulting in 2 months lost data. I guess I have to live with this.
But the problem remains that I no longer have the Microsoft Office Suite Lifetime which was INCLUDED in my purchase. The system was purchased through Amazon. Dell suggested that I go to Amazon for a solution or buy a new copy. But it is not the fault of Amazon that the Dell system failed. How could Amazon possibly be responsible for this failure?
In effect Dell is asking me to pay TWICE for the Office Suite, since their only solution is to subscribe again to the Microsoft suite which I already paid for.
Recommendation: Avoid Dell Computers.
