Just purchased a new Cuisinart toaster (CPI cpt-435P1). What a terrible chemical odor it gives off when first used! I had to take it out to the garage to get the smell out of the kitchen. It took me about 18 toaster cycles (without bread) to work out and off the smell.
Was it just mine that did this? Seriously, there must be something that Cuisinart can do doing the post production process to "burn" most of this chemical off the heating coils. Or something during the packaging process to minimize the chemical smell. A nice product like this shouldn't to start out making we customers nauseous.
