Very Bad Hospital
I would not send anyone to Cooper Hospital for medical treatment. I am diabetic and need to have an early morning appointment for my condition. First thing they did was to change my surgery arrival time from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm leaving over 14 hours for not have anything to eat or drink at this time.
After I arrived and was prepared for surgery the time was now 4:30 pm. At that time they informed me that my operation time had changed to 6:00 pm. About 5 minutes later my surgery was cancelled telling me that one of the doctors (Dr. Bowen, Heart Surgeon ) could not stay for my procedure. The hospital did not care that I was a diabetic, did not care I had to cancel a shoulder replacement that same day for my wife to schedule my critical operation. Did not care that I had to arrange a ride to the hospital and home for myself and my wife. Did not care that I had had to stop my blood thinners for AFib for 4 days putting me at risk for a stroke. And what makes it even worse is that nobody from the hospital even call me the next day to try to make it right. I was made to feel like I was just a piece of meat, just money in their bank account. They sent us home with a parking voucher to get our car out of the garage. My day ended with me going over 17 hours without having anything to eat or drink. Cooper Hospital tells you that “ Cooper Cares “ “Treatment First”.
I am now making arrangements to go to University of Penn Hospital.

7/26/24 appt. at Moorestown NJ site with Jessie. Arrived told it was cancelled. I was never notified. Given a phone # to call worthless! Called another # told I was scheduled for 9/23/24 had to get someone else for a time. What right do they have to set up an appointment I set up my appt. They don't know my availabiliy. Waste of time. Spent another hour talking to at least 3 p eople one said they could give me a date not a time what kind of office are they running and this is pain management! The time and frustration spent was unbelievable.! I am 77 years old and I don't really need this type of frustration. I hope this complaint get to you asap. Thank you

Review of Cooper University Health Care's Turnersville Facility: Concerns with Work Environment and Management
I recently visited Cooper University Health Care's new facility in Turnersville and had a chance to chat with a friend who works there. They shared with me that while they enjoy working at Cooper Health, the work environment has been less than ideal. Apparently, the office manager is difficult to communicate with and employees feel like their concerns are not being heard. For example, if an employee is not meeting Cooper Health's standards, nothing is done to correct the behavior. This includes things like being late, using cellphones during work hours, taking extended lunch breaks, and engaging in non-work related conversations. As a senior person, I found some of the conversations I overheard to be unpleasant and unprofessional.
I truly hope that someone from Cooper Health will come to this office and see and hear what is happening. It's important for employees to feel valued and heard in their workplace, and for patients to receive care from professionals who are focused on their work. Despite these concerns, I still believe that Cooper Health is a great healthcare provider and I would recommend them to others.
Disappointing Experience at Cooper University Health Care: Doctor Retires, No Follow-Up Care, and Limited Options
I recently had an experience at Cooper University Health Care that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I went in for X-rays on my back on May 12th, only to be told by the doctor that he was retiring in just four days and I would need to find another doctor to read my results. I couldn't help but wonder why he bothered to see me at all if he knew he wouldn't be able to follow through with my care.
To make matters worse, the doctor gave me a choice between living with the pain or undergoing yet another surgery. I've already had five surgeries in the past 15 years, and I'm hesitant to trust another doctor with my health after so many failed attempts. If I could stop payment from my insurance company, I would - that's how frustrated I am with the care I received.
I was shocked that I wasn't taken care of better, especially considering the number of people who come into the hospital without insurance. I expected better treatment and more helpful answers than what I received. Even my cardiologist at Penn Medicine couldn't get the results for me, leaving me without any answers from May 12th until now.

To make matters worse, one of the supervisors openly stated that she would not hire a man for any position under her supervision. The HR team was also highly unprofessional and incompetent. If you are looking to advance and move to another department, good luck! They will keep you where you are with no pay increase, despite telling you otherwise. I could go on and on, but I will stop here. I strongly advise against working at Cooper University Health Care. Consider yourself warned!

I recently had an experience at Cooper University Health Care that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. My 85-year-old mother and I went to the hospital from her doctor's office, and upon arrival, I asked for a wheelchair to assist her in getting into the building. To my surprise, I was informed that there were no wheelchairs available. I couldn't believe it! How could one of the largest hospitals not have wheelchairs for their patients?
The woman at the patient information desk responded to my inquiry in a sarcastic manner, saying that this happens all the time. She then walked away, leaving me to deal with the situation on my own. I found it unacceptable that this could be a common occurrence in such a large hospital. It seems like poor management to me.
Carrying my mother into the hospital was not only stressful but also downright disgusting. It's disappointing to have to go through this kind of experience when you're already dealing with the stress of going to the hospital. I wouldn't want anyone else to have to go through this, and it's the reason why I won't be dealing with a doctor who only works out of Cooper.

Cooper University Health Care Review: Frustrating Billing and Call-In System, but Great Doctor
I've had a couple of experiences with Cooper University Health Care and unfortunately, both times my bill has been messed up. It's frustrating because they're trying to collect more money than my insurance says they should be. The first time I called, I was on hold for an hour before finally talking to someone who saw the mistake and said they fixed it. However, the same mistake happened again during my second appointment just last month. This time, I spent a whopping 90 minutes on hold before being transferred to a "help desk" that couldn't really help me other than taking my name and number. It's ridiculous that I'm not the one making the mistake, yet I'm the one wasting my time trying to fix it. Maybe I should get some compensation for all the time I've wasted.
The call-in system is a mess. You have to wait on hold for everything. It's frustrating to have to wait on hold for 30 minutes just to make an appointment when you're already feeling sick. I've been to four different doctors this year and Cooper is the only one that can't seem to figure out the insurance processing. It's a shame because I really like my doctor and wish he would go somewhere else.
Despite all the frustration, I still gave Cooper University Health Care a few stars because of my doctor. However, I hope they can improve their billing and call-in system in the future. It's not fair to patients to have to waste so much time trying to fix mistakes that aren't their fault.

Disappointing ER Experience at Cooper Hospital: Doctor Nyce's Lack of Care and Attention
I had an extreme pain in my thigh and had to be taken to Cooper Hospital by ambulance. The attendants were all very nice and accommodating. They did X-Rays and Ultrasound of my leg and found no blood clots or any broken bones. However, I was still in excruciating pain. Unfortunately, I never got to see the attending doctor, whose name was Nyce. He didn't feel that an MRI was warranted, so he sent me home with crutches which I was unable to use because I couldn't stand upright without pain. He also prescribed a strong Advil pill. I even asked for an MRI, but they said that Nyce didn't see fit to do it. I hope that no one else gets him as a doctor in the Emergency Room! He didn't even have the decency to come and see me in person. He sent his assistant! I will not be going to Cooper Hospital should I ever need care again. Oh, and I'm 73 years old, and this was my first time ever going to a hospital. I don't take any medications and have not had any surgeries, so I would think that the care would have been a little better than what I received. That doctor needs to find another profession!

We went to Cooper and told them about her symptoms, including the fact that she was dripping fluid. The staff assured us that everything was okay and that she hadn't broken her water or anything like that. I asked if they could induce labor, but they said they would do it in two days.
I was concerned and asked them to check her more thoroughly, but they seemed to want us out of there quickly. The doctor was apparently at home and didn't want to come in on a Saturday, even though she was on call. I don't understand why she couldn't have come in to help us. In the end, I took my wife to another hospital and it turned out that she was indeed leaking amniotic fluid. She had to be induced, which was a stressful and difficult experience.
I've heard from other friends who have had their children born at Cooper that the staff can be lazy and ignore important symptoms. They seem to want to get patients out of the hospital as quickly as possible without doing a thorough job. I was really disappointed with the care we received at Cooper and would not recommend this hospital to anyone. It's a shame that such an important institution can be so careless with people's health and well-being.
