TNTconsignment note: [protected] - loss of 1 out of 3 cartoons

This is a letter I receive from TNT 3 weeks goods being collected. Three cartons were collected, two small ones delivered to my customer in Dalby and the large carton worth $1000.00 lost. After being a loyal customer with TNT since 2008, this is their response. I personally feel it is shameful and seek your intervention please.

Our records indicate that you have elected not to have Extended Warranty on this consignment.
Under our Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract with you, TNT’s liability is limited to the amount of the Extended Warranty specified on the front of the consignment note. On this basis we regret you are not able to make a claim.
May we suggest that you check with your private insurer to establish whether your existing policies provide for marine transit cover.
