T.J. Maxx $19.99 necklace

Would not allow return of necklace without receipt. Would not give store credit as TJMAXX website says. Store has small sign posted on jewelry counter that is not in view due to merchandise sitting in front of it. The sign does not face area of jewelry counter where customers can easily view it.
I did not check out at the jewelry counter when I purchased the necklace.
I attempted to return the necklace twice.
Young female manager named Taylor refused to give last name when I told her I would be making complaint. This was store located in Abilene, Tx.

T.J. Maxx managers and used clothing

Tj maxx in millcreek utah has a manager named tammy van ekelenburg. She is rude and the worst manager I have ever seen. I complained to her about a piece of clothing that was definitely used that I bought there. The clothing had spots on it and was well used. I didn't ask her to return and get the money back because I lost the receipt. I just let her know how upset I was. That they was selling used clothing. Her response was
No receipt, I can't do anything. Have a good day. This was extremely annoying and not helpful. My hope is that tj maxx gets rid of tammy and hires someone with better customer service. And I wont be shopping tjmaxx no more knowing they are selling used nasty clothing. Disgusting

T.J. Maxx I was discarded and treated very rudely/extremely poor customer service

On 04/14/2019 I purchase a suitcase from TJ MAXX at 9100 N Central Expressway in Dallas. I went on a trip from 05/10/2019-05/19/2019 out of the country. On my trip it was discovered that the zipper was broke. This gave me anxiety and worry on my trip. I tried to return in and the first associate was going to allow me but when I did not have the price tag (I had the receipt and all of the other paperwork from the suitcase) she asked the other associate what should she do. She kept looking around and kept playing with a device like trying to find the price or something but I feel that she was a little puzzled and had no direction or knowledge of what to do. I offered to go look for another suitcase like mine because when I purchase it there were many there. The other associate then told her to call the manager on duty. the manger on duty, Megan came up and immediately told me they would not return it because it had been more than 30 days. I explained my situation and time line that I had worked with and she was having nothing more to do with me other than turn me away. She stated it was store policy that she could not return it. I asked her where is the policy and she just told me to go online. I was appalled at her response and have never been treated with such lack of compassion and customer service. I strongly feel that if I had the price tag for the suitcase that the first associate would have returned it and I would not be sending this complaint. I feel that I have been tossed aside from one associate then to the manager because of lack of training and customer service. I also called the store and asked Megan for the associates name for the purpose of this complaint and once again she was very rude and just said no. I feel that this has been one of the worse customer service experiences ever.

T.J. Maxx customer service

To whom it may concern:

On 5/29/19 I had a very disturbing incident at the Tj Maxx in Olney Maryland. My daughter and I were there shopping, and while there I must have had an allergic reaction to something. My throat began to close up and I could not catch my breath. It could have been dust or someones perfume, but it doesn't not matter what cause it, what matters is how the woman working the dressing rooms began to treat me.

At first the woman was telling my daughter that she did not know what to do, and that she should start patting my back. When that did not work the woman told my daughter and I to go into a dressing room to help calm myself down and catch my breath. After a few minutes of sitting in the dressing room I finally got myself together and could actually breath again. As we were walking out of the dressing room to thank the woman for letting us sit in there, the woman calls the manger over accusing me and my daughter of stealing merchandise's while we were in the room. The woman working the dressing room area made a scene, accusing us of stealing even though she told my daughter and I to go back there in the first place.

The manager was very understanding in the situation, and asked if I needed water or anything/ if I was ok after I was having trouble breathing.

I am extremely disappointed in the way I was treated at this location. I am a 53 year old woman, shopping with my 20 year old daughter who just got home from college for the summer. I am extremely offended that the lady treated me this way, causing a scene in front of the store and manager accusing me and my daughter of stealing.

It is very sad because Tj maxx used to be one of my favorite places to shop with my two daughters, but after this experience I highly doubt that we will be going back. The customer service was extremely upsetting.

That woman completely ruined my day, and should know how to treat a customer better than she did.

T.J. Maxx laid off

The reason im writing now is that i got laid off. Im a backroom coordinator i never have the proper materials on time also associates. When we get each day is 5 pallets to 8 pallets sometimes we get surprised by adding extra pallet. We are required to break down all of it. But my managers pressure me and we dont have payroll. Im actually considered about my ex co workers they work in the backroom and their ac doesnt work. I have told the managers and they have done nothing about it . for the reason why i got laid off cause we got jammed with clothes and no payroll i only have one hanger. And is not fair cause i work so hard for it . I try giving ideas but my ideas doesnt work cause it make it worst thays what i got told on . i got blame for the week i got vacation, i came back to work and they blame me for they got jammed it wasnt my fault. I try to catch up but i got overwhelmed with their pressure. So definitely the backroom ac doesnt work and is gonna be 2 weeks already. I know i aint there anymore started today .

T.J. Maxx I am complaining about the manager

TJ Maxx in Carmel Mountain has a manager named Mike Lynch. He is rude and the worst manager I have never seen. I complained to him about a Calphalon pot that I bought there. I cooked only one time and the stainless steel pot had spots on it. I didn't ask him to return and get the money back because I lost the receipt. I just let him know how upset I was and how a Calphalon pot can have bad quality. His response was
NO RECEIPT, I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. HAVE A GOOD DAY. This was extremely annoying and not helpful. My hope is that TJ Maxx gets rid of Mike and hires someone with better customer service.

T.J. Maxx unethical management behaviour

Management have stated time and time again to all staff that they cannot put any merchandises on hold items for next day purchases and cannot purchase items at closing of store hours while still being technically working and not on break., but management have abuse this many times by having items put on hold for the next day for purchases and as well management have shopped while still on the clock. Management shopping at the end of closing hours while still being on the clock is time fraud. The manager Kimona Hudson has on several occasion have shopped close to closing hours while still on the clock. The Coordinator Olena has also shopped while the store was closing. This is time fraud to make purchases while on still on the clock and supposed to be working. Both the managers Dorota and Beata have had items put on hold for next day purchases which is against the rules to all staff members.

T.J. Maxx unethical behaviour

I purchased in Warsaw many items (the bill was around 1, 600 PLN) in the store next to the Palace of Culture, on the 27th of April, at around noon time. I paid by card.in the morning of the 29th of April, I wanted to return a pair of pants. I brought them, together with the receipt, but the employees and the manager told me that the pair of paints in not on the receipt (they have looked on the cameras) and they cannot give me the money back ad if I want them back, I would have to pay! I felt very bad, my feelings were hurt, my time was wasted, and moreover, I had to leave the pants in the store. I would have expected other attitude from the manager, something like: "We are very sorry that our employee didn't scan the pants and put you in this situation. Unfortunately we cannot give you the money back, but for your time, here is a 50 PLN card to shop in our store" or something like this...

T.J. Maxx employee was incredibly rude

At TJ Maxx Casselbery, FL, an employee by the name Gina G (Coordinator) was incredibly rude. I went to the counter and asked for a price check on a pair of shoes, and this employee took them behind the counter to check. She comes back and says ‘in reality its a $700 shoe so it's not going to be cheap if that's what you're expecting'. I told her I never said anything about it being cheap or not, all I wanted was a price check which was my right as a customer since they didn't have a price tag. (The stores fault, not mine!) Then she says that she was a little suspicious because the price tag should have been there. So not only did she accuse me of being cheap, but also indirectly called me a criminal. Suspicious is not a word you use with customers, especially when I shop there atleast twice every week. I went to the manager to complain and he seemed least bothered, didn't even go to talk to her. When I was leaving the store, she called out ‘the cart can't be taken outside the store'. I was literally still inside, a long way from the door. There was no reason to say that, especially after the snide comments earlier. I told her of course I know the cart doesn't go outside, I shop here all the time, which she replied with ‘yeah I've seen you here', further proving my earlier point that the door comment was unnecessary. She had a terrible, condescending attitude and when I told her I was upset with what she said, she said she never said or meant any of it, but didnt apologise to me once. My husband noticed her rudeness as well, as did everyone else. Extremely disappointed with TJ Maxx and the employees, this woman should not be allowed to serve customers. If this is how she treats people who shop there twice a week, I don't want to imagine what happens with everyone else. Please take action against her. Calling customers cheap criminals is not acceptable, EVER.

T.J. Maxx fitting room customer service

Good evening,
Most likely this complaint will be lost in the hundreds of complaints listed in this site.
Regardless, I need to voice my opinion due to a situation that happened today at this store. The lady that was attending fitting room area at around 4:20 pm on 4/9/19 was coarse and condescending to my child. He is ten years of age but is big for his age; also he has a disability. Even though she could not see a physical disability, doesn't mean that she has the right to make an opinion about him. People should be more sensitive and receive more training. My son could not go into the fitting room alone for the reasons stated above. I told her I wanted to go with him into the ladies fitting room and she automatically said that he was a "big boy, that he could go on his own." I do not have to explain anybody as to why I wanted to go in with him. She said no, not the ladies that he needed to go the men's room and that I could go in there with him, She argued that he was too big to go into the ladies and it was disrespectful. So, what about me walking into the men's fitting room. I really would not have any issues with her, but she was condescending and arrogant.
Like I said, not all disabilities are physical, and she should not make comments as to who and when people can go into a fitting room. What if it was a daughter with a father? I wonder.

T.J. Maxx horrible manager

Now I understand how hard it is to work in retail. But if you don't want to deal with people do not work in retail. There is a "manager" named Betty L. She is a horrible manager with a bad attitude. There are 10 people on line- she is chatting with other employees and yapping away and not addressing the amount of people on line. I called TJMaxx corporate already and complained her.

T.J. Maxx discrimination and poor customer service

I have been to this store on several occasions, and customer service is always horrible by multiple employees. On april 4th, 2019, I was looking at handbags, jewlery, then make up as my mom and daughter also shopped and the lady in the jewlery department for the third time was rude, and did not have any customer service skills. She has done this before and changed prices on items. I returned two other times and the customer service is always poor and unacceptable. I will not continue to shop here unless these matters are resolved. The names of the employees are elisa, and brissa. Please ensure all customers are provided with kindness and not descriminated based on gender, race, or disability.

T.J. Maxx Mistreated in the store

I was there in the store around 1:00 pm, I have some return
Merchandises, one of them with tag not tj maxx clear on it, which I told the casher to look inside for the sn and match it with the receipt, she didn't know about it that when I explain it to her, so she turn ugly with me right away, and told me that's not from here you came her to lie on us. Which I politely asked her to call the manger, which she came and said it was miss communication from the casher, understand what I was talkin about which the casher said something nasty again accusing me that I don't understand english, but the manager didn't do any thing about the casher miss treated me nasty again front of her and talk with me like i'm nothing, or someone doesn't understand what i'm talking about. Then they refused to give me my money and just give me store credit which is okay with me. But what happened yesterday is not acceptable by any mean.
I didn't want tell you that was raciest because i'm warring scarf, but believe me that what I felt from this couple for first time in any store since I came to this country 9 years ago.

T.J. Maxx poor customer service during processing a return

Hi!

I would like to report a horrible experience in store #899 on 3/27/19 .

I've been a loyal TJ MAXX and Marshals stores client for decades . I've been always happy with selection and service when I lived in Connecticut. Now I moved to Venice, FL. While I applaud great selection I am sorry to admit that customer service is not always the way it should be.

Recently for a first time I decided to shop at tjmaxx.com and I loved it! I kept buying on line because of it's convenience to shop and check out using my PayPal. Everything was great until I've got to return some things which didn't fit me. So I was planning to return them and find something else. And then it began . Shia, the girl at the register, informed me that I will be issued a store credit. I told her I wish I was warned about it when I was buying on line using PayPal while I was checking out . We kept talking and manger, Lisa, happened to walk by and joined the conversation . The both talked to me in empathetic, phony, unpleasant way and it made me feel very uncomfortable and upset. When I asked Lisa if she could suggest to her management to make some changes in checking out while shopping on line, her respond was :" I am the manager". Then, in sarcastic tone, Shia asked me if I found everything I was looking for . She could not care less if I did or did not.

When I walked away from register and turned back I saw Shia left her register and went to talk to Lisa. I saw them laughing . I am sure at my expense.

I worked at Nordstrom for a long time until I retired. I know what good customer service is. The service I've experienced was far from acceptable. Now I have over $100 in store credit and I don't even want to shop at that store anymore. I don't want Lisa and Shia to talk behind my back and laugh at me again.
What an poor example Lisa ( store manager) is for her employees!

I wish I could get my money back.

T.J. Maxx an employee

I'm writing a message because I had a horrible experience in the TJ Maxx on Sunday March 17, 2019 ( 3670 McKinley Pkwy, Buffalo NY) I walked over to the makeup section and I looked up and I saw this employee who I didn't get her name but she was an Asian lady who looked to be in her 30s-40s and she was watching me very sternly for some reason. I always check the product to see if it's damaged or broken before purchase if I like the product. I would NEVER buy something that is damaged nor would I even think about touching a makeup product because that's horrible. But I was making sure some items I was interested in weren't damaged and this lady comes up to me and very rudely was telling even raising her voice at me to stop and she was saying how I couldn't do that. She also said how they don't have testers and I can't test the makeup. I told her I wasn't testing anything and I had to make sure the product was not damaged. She still kept accusing me of testing when I wasn't; I had to walk away from her because of how humiliated she made me feel when I did nothing wrong. Most makeup items are damaged because careless people touch them but I do not and I would never do that. There were people around and she embarrassed me when I did nothing wrong. She was extremely rude to me and there were other people around that were doing the same exact thing! But she only came up to me. I am an 18 year old girl and I also have pink hair. I feel like She stereotyped me because I have colored hair thinking I was testing the makeup when I was only making sure nothing was damaged. The actions that were made towards me humiliated me and I'm am beyond upset that an employee would act this way towards a customer. A response to this horrible, humiliating, and disgusting experience would be greatly appreciated.

T.J. Maxx men's clothing dept. compared to the women's dept.

I have shopped at TJ Maxx for many many years, ever since they first came to the area. I used to go almost 2 times a week everyweek to buy clothing and stuff for my house. I could always find something I wanted or needed but as of the last several years the mens clothing dpet. is horrible. I have sent many complaints but nothing ever changes. Every season the mens dept. gets smaller to accomodate the extra items. Christmas time the mens dept. get shrunk to accomodate. I was at this store 2 days ago and counted racks. The mens dept. has 7 racks compared to the ladies side which had almost 40. The mens dept. has been reduced again because there is alot more furniture, rugs, outdoor items. Which I dont understand because here is Homegoods store right across the street and that is where these items should be not reducing the mens dept. The mens dept. always gets the short end of the stick with your company. The selectin is horrible, can barely find any jeans, dress pants or anythang that an adult over the age of 30 would wear. It has been over three years since I have bought any clothing from your comapny and as of recently I started shopping a the mall. Men shouldnt be forced to shop online and a the mall and pay outrageous prices to find something decent to wear. Not only do the women have the majority of the store but many times I have been in there and found women trying on the mens clothing so not only do we have to compete with other men shopping in our dept. but women too making our selection even worse. You also advertise that you carry name brands for less, half the brands in your men's section I have never heard of and the quality of their clothes is cheap and trashy. Your selection for housewares has goen down hill as well. A bunch of cheap items that dont last and fall apart. You did away with Layaway as well which was great because for younger people when they go shopping they have an option to put things on layaway when they cant afford to buy it outright. This was how I did a lot of my shopping with you company when I was younger and was not making a decent wage at that time. Your company should be ashamed of the way you treat the men's dept.. Men like to shop too. So hopefully you get it together soon and fire whoever is over the men's dept. because if you don't I plan to start blogging about your discrimination against men by not providing them with the same amount of respect and options you provide the women's dept.. BTW this is not just at this location. I have shopped at many, many TJ Maxx and Marshall's locations within the Michigan and Indiana area and they all lack the attention of the men's dept. they need. The one in Benton Harbor Michigan next tot eh Target that just closed only had 5 racks of men's clothing. With Target closed this is your time to shine and start drawing in more shoppers.

T.J. Maxx general merchandise

I placed an order online at the TJ Maxx site. When the order arrived today, it had my name and address on the box. When I opened the box, it was all items that I did not order. The invoice inside matched what I had ordered, but not the items. I called TJ Maxx's customer service to report that I had received someone else's order. They told me that I had to box up the items and take them to UPS to be returned. When I inquired about the items that I had already ordered and still wanted, they told me that if I wanted to reorder the items today, I would have to pay for them again and wait to be reimbursed. Why? Why am I being inconvenienced for something I had nothing to do with? The representative had very little concern for my inconvenience. When I told her that I should be compensated in some way for the inconvenience of having to take the package that wasn't mine to a UPS store to be returned, she replied, "Well, I would be happy to give you free shipping on your next order." Umm, no thanks. I will never shop at TJ Maxx online or in their stores again. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told it would be 24-48 hours before one would call me. Thanks for nothing.

T.J. Maxx bad service

I purchased a parka for my daughter from my local tj maxx about a month ago. After leaving for school, my daughter informed me that she found an electronic tag on the parka after she set off an alarm at a store. When she came home to visit for a weekend I took her parka back to my local tj maxx to get the tag removed. I was unable to find the receipt for the parka because my daughter had thrown it away once she started wearing the parka. The employee at my local tj maxx refused to remove the electronic tag. After calling the manager I showed them both my credit card statement proving that I made a purchase at that tj maxx that was the same price as the parka but they still refused to the remove the tag. They made me wait one and a half hours as they searched for my receipt in their system before they eventually found proof of purchase and removed the tag.

T.J. Maxx unprofessional/rude employee - bad experience

Good evening,

I came to the South College Rd. Tj Maxx in Wilmington, NC on 01/10/2019. I was there return an outfit that did not work out for me. I placed the tags and receipt with the clothing items back in the original bag for return. When I got up to the register and told employee Nancy ( Tall, big lady, short blonde hair) that I had a return she immediately had an attitude and made somewhat of a scene. She then proceeded to tell me I could not return the items because the tags were not attached, though they were in the bag with the receipt. She proceeded to argue with me for about ten minutes before looking to get any kind of help as she was new. The nice lady next to her showed her how to attach the tags and apologized to me under her breath for Nancy's horribel attitude. I understand that everyone has bad days but it truly felt as if her customer service skills were not up to par what so ever. I have returned items to Tj Maxx multiple times this same way with no trouble in the past. If attaching the tags is policy, this should be printed on the receipt at the bottom where it only states "to return within 30 days with receipt". Customers are not aware this is policy if you do not communicate this to them. I appreciate your time.

T.J. Maxx service

Hi,

I bought a plate from the back section of the store which are mostly broken or have scratches. This plate apparently had some scratches but I didn't study it. I bought it cause it was only $5.99 and I was just putting my candles. When I got home, I tried my candles and it didn't fit so 2 days after I returned it. The manager of TJ Maxx Santa Clara and the cashier refused to accept my return. They said it was old and used. They didn't even look at my receipt which was only 2 days old. This manager has this kind of attitude. She makes customers feel that they are not trustworthy, they are cheaters or scammers of whatever. TJ Maxx is a great company but you should hire people who knows how to deal with customers respectfully. She needs to be fired.

Btw, my complaint is against a lady manager. She is wearing glasses and seems to always look at customers with suspicion. The casher is also a lady cashier, Indian. She was on No. 6 booth when I came in at Jan. 15, 2019 at around 1.50 pm.
