I was going through my spam box, as I like to remove myself from ad lists I notice I'm getting a lot of e-mail from, to reduce the incoming amount of data coming into my inbox. I happened to notice some Skout thing, and I couldn't find anywhere in the e-mail. I logged into the site with my e-mail address and a password consisted of me randomly pressing keys, and it logged me in. I was shocked to find that a photo I had used to reply to a few craigslist ads was being used on this site, and a marginal amount of incorrect information including my age, and my location, though it did list the correct state I lived in. Keep in mind, I NEVER signed up for an account with this website, and had no clue what it was before today.

I contacted the support e-mail for the site, as there was no option to close my account AT ALL (most internet dating sites like these, or anything you can sign up for, has an option to close your account), and informed them of this, and threatened to pursue legal action. They removed the photo, but not the profile, which is whatever because it doesn't include any personal info about me.

Clearly there is some sort of advantage of people who work for their website, to snake/steal photos from people on craigslist, to create profiles to up their user count, like so many websites of this caliber use. It's pretty fishy that this site doesn't currently provide an option to close an account, plus I was never provided a password in the spam e-mails I received. I have no plans to pursue legal action, as the photo was removed, but I feel it's noteworthy enough to leave a complaint on here so that if other people notice the same thing happening, it can build up. I will be leaving an ad on craigslist next, informing their users of this issue.
