Maytag sells some serious lemons. I purchased Maytag Front Load 2000 series clothes washer 3 years ago. It worked ok for a year. Since then, I had so many issues with it, that I don't even know where to start. For the past two years we were able to use the washer on quick wash and extra low spin cycle only. Today I can't even turn it on. It's a piece of crap and I will never buy anything from Maytag again. On one of the social media groups someone asked about the good clothes washer. I advised people to stay away form Maytag and not surprisingly a lot of people agreed with my opinion. MAYTAG, STOP SELLING THIS CRAP TO PEOPLE!

maytag dryer not working
I bought a Bravos Gas Dryer from Home Depot. When I received it, the steam refresh was not working. Since I live 30 miles from the city, they told me to find my own repairman. I did and the cheapest was $200.00 traveling time, which Maytag refuses to pay. I already paid over a $1000.00 for this dryer that does not work, and I am expected to pay another $200.00.

My old Sears washer gave up the ghost and I purchased a new Maytag Washer form Lowe’s May 2011.

I selected this particular washer because of the large tub with no spindle in the middle. This allows me to wash large comforters & quilts. THAT PART I LOVE.
However, I’m assuming because of the brilliant laws by the water conservation board and the EPA, it doesn’t fill with enough water to cover my laundry. I have to add three or four Rubbermaid tubs to have enough water to efficiently wash my laundry. If I forget to set my timer I sometimes forget to add the water. For instance today I washed my sheets. I forgot to add water and it wadded my sheets up into a ball & wobbled so fiercely that it actually moved my washer about 6 inches.
I used to like to soak my towels as long as I wanted to. Now this brilliant washer that has a mind of its own and it shuts off & drains the water out.
DEAR EPA EXPERTS THAT IS DEFINITELY WASTING WATER.
I’m suspecting that you are forced to comply with the idiotic rules that the EPA passes. These have to be the stupidest people on the planet.
If you at Maytag implemented these computer controls then I’m pretty upset with YOU.
For ME, nothing can be done at this point except to keep adding water to every load I wash.
For YOU, nothing can be done with this particular model. Hopefully in the future you will consult someone who actually does laundry on a daily basis before making a product that creates so much frustration for the user.

We purchased the Maytag Performance series washer model # MHWE900VJ1
in Aug 2009 and it shakes and vibrates badly. Called an authorized service company to look at it and the main bearing for the drum needs to be replaced at a cost of $700. The technician did not recommend the repair but rather to replace the machine. The machine is only 7 years and 8 months old and it already needs to be replaced. Wow that is some performance.

Hello...most frustrating dealing with Customer Service. First they offer a call back...they never call. Better off staying on the phone for 20 minutes to get through. purchase a maytag because they are, so we thought one of the best...well we will never purchase another maytag appliance nor shop at City Furniture in Castlegar BC. Better off with Kenmore...service is much better.

Dryer was only 4 years old, the dryer element went out on my dryer. Called Maytag customer service about sending out a free replacement part, they were very rude.
They wanted to sell me a warranty for $$300.00 to take care of the repair. I just wanted them to ship me the part for free based on the age of the dryer and condition. They said they couldn't send me out the part. They told me it had to go through a third party. Manager wanted to send out a repair person to install the part for $250.00. Very unhappy. No more Maytag appliances for me. Passing it onto friends. Leaving my review on the internet. Terrible customer service. $65.00 part, how stupid is that.

After filing the first complaint this Melanie called me to help resolve my issue and so I called her back. I talked to some other guy there and after giving him my reference number she left he still had no clue what was going on. Finally he sees my problems and said they were offering me a free six month warranty. Why would I want that when the washer never worked in the first place and on top of that I never could get anyone to come out to even look at it? Taking two days off work for no one to show up and on top of that a washer that doesn't work that's brand new. Terrible customer service and I will let everyone I know what I went through. Nice job Maytag.

Maytag is aware of the parts being defective on this particular model. I think the company should stand behind their product and offer a repair on these models. I have been waiting for parts to come in so the repairman can do the installation. I paid $1600.00 for this model, and now have to pay another $350.00 to have it repaired! Not a fan of Maytag anymore, and I will share this info to all my friends, for consumer awareness.

I took delivery of a new set of Maytag Bravos XL MCT washer and dryer in the first week of March 2017. Within the first two weeks the dryer was not operating correctly. If you stopped it by opening the door to check your clothes it would not restart. If you left it in that state (power on) and walked away some random time later it would run for 5-10 seconds and stop and this would continue. Eventually, 1 to 2 hours later, I would cycle power and it might or might not start properly. I called Whirlpool within this time and registered the products over the phone. At that time I asked the person for some help understanding what I might be doing run with the cycle settings. She said she didn't know how the cycles worked and didn't offer any other help.
Within the next approximately 3 weeks the washer stopped working all-together. It appeared that the lid lock was never engaging to the cycle would not start. I called and set up a warranty repair. That technician told me he was going to order parts for both units and that some of the parts may be 2 weeks out. He witnessed the dryer irregularities and said he had no idea what was going on. He decided to order complete control panels for both units.
The more I thought about the more upset I became. I called Best Buy and I was just a few days outside the no questions asked return and they would not consider helping. I called Whirlpool and they said that returns have to go through the entity the appliance was purchased through so they had no reason to help other than a warranty repair.
Now one of the parts is 3 weeks and still waiting and I have engaged my state Attorney Generals office seeking a full refund.
I have some other negative experiences with a Maytag washer and frankly it seems the Whirlpool has ruined a good product line.
I bought these because it seemed like a good value. I wanted to purchase American made or at least an American company. Of course, these are not american "made" but "assembled in America" and things are fine until you need a part made in China.
I am probably going to purchase LG if I can get a refund. They seem to have outstanding products, although I don't know about their service.

22 days to receive our fridge in florida
We purchased a maytag fridge on the 30th of march from home depot. Our initial delivery date was scheduled for april the 8th. We received, a phone-call from the delivery technicians located at woodlands, fl the day before and we informed them that we will home to pick up the fridge the whole morning until 3 p. M. The representative on the phone seemed understanding and told us that they would deliver the fridge before 3 p. M. Otherwise they would call us. Of course, they delivered the fridge after 3 p. M and we never got the phone call. Next day, I called to reschedule. The representative on the phone had the audacity to tell me that the next available delivery date was april the 15th. They delivery techs, did come on saturday, april the 15th, and picked up our old fridge. However, they managed to damage our new fridge during delivery. Three days later, I got a phone-call to schedule for the next available delivery date which was saturday the 22nd when we finally got our fridge. Overall, we ended up spending easter without a fridge and waiting 22 days for it to deliver. This was the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We are deeply disappointed with the company and its customer service.

maytag bravos high efficiency top - load washer... dont buy terrible washer
I bought a Maytag washer from Lowes on April 14th. I brought it home and initially had trouble getting it started. Finally got it working for one day. The next day I go to start it and it won't start. I called Customer service and they told me someone would be out on Monday between 8-12. Took the morning off and no one came so I called customer service back and the girl called the service company and said they were running behind and that it would be before 4 so now I have to take the whole day off. Four rolls around and you got it no one shows up. I called back again and this girl told me that the service company they had me with was 120 miles away and they don't service my area and they haven't had a call or a work order for me so the girl I talked to first lied? They then reset the appointment up for Wednesday morning. Another morning off work and noon rolls around and no one shows up. I called customer service and she tells me that she can't get a hold of the service company and that they should be calling me. So I end up taking another whole day off work and I still have a brand new washer that doesn't work. Maytag's customer service is absolutely awful and I will never buy a Maytag anything ever again. If anything Maytag owes me 2 days pay for missing work. Terrible company!

My washer and dryer are about 2 yrs old. I hate them with a passion. My washer rarely gets clothes clean. Leaves soap residue, smells like rotten eggs despite regular cleanings, gets off balance constantly, and wears my clothes out by twisting them into knots.
The dryer leaves my clothes wrinkled no matter how quickly I take them out. I could toss something wrinkled in my old dryer, spin it a few minutes, and wrinkles would disappear. NOT THIS DRYER! I have to iron more than I ever did. These maytag machines make laundry a bigger chore than it should be. I have tried to just live with them but I'm getting a new set and you can believe it won't be a maytag!

I have had the fuses, heating element replaced going on 3 times now. I'm over this product and am ready for a complete new dryer and most definitely not a Maytag. Will not recommend this product. This dryer is definitely the worst item I have ever bought in my life. I thought when buying Maytag meant the performance would be much better and not need repair at a year and a half. DO NOT BUY this dryer ever

On 3/11/2017, I briefly turned on my Maytag dryer and received very strong shock.
On 3/13/2017 I replaced this dryer
The pain was significant and the shock left my right arm numb especially around my pinky finger on my right arm.
I did not see a doctor at the time because I hoped the pain would not continue and the numbness would disappear.
It is now over a month later and the numbness is still present around my right hand especially around my pinky finger on my right hand.
I am considering “broadcasting” this incident on Social Media and contacting a Lawyer.
If you read my complaint information it was regarding dryer Model #LD-4000.
My belief in Maytag has been crushed by this Shocking Incident.

Our Maytag top-loader washer, Model MVWC425BW, delivered 8/1/2014, along with four other appliances. I had to call for service a couple of months later complaining about bad burning oily smell. Service rep came out, couldn’t find anything wrong. He told me sometimes new machines have a smell to them. The smell continued whole time washer was used. I only used machine half the time because we go south for winter. In Jan 2017, we had painter come in to paint room. He pulled out washer and found greasy, oily, puddle under washer. (see attached photo) After doing some research, I found out that Maytag has had trouble with their front loaders having transmission trouble with leaking oil. The service rep that came out the second time, after leak was found states “It’s the luck of the draw if you get a good machine or not.” Over five hundred dollars for a machine and hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to get a washer that will last more than 2 years? Contacted the dealer we purchased from. They contacted Maytag. Maytag response was “Even though I had a service call a couple of months after purchase (which they claim nothing was wrong and machine still under warranty), Maytag refuses to accept any responsibility.” I know they have had a recall on the front loaders for transmission problems. Could this have carried over to the top-loaders? Does make me wonder.
Maytag, Inc. is a company that has been around since the 1920’s. Several generations have taken pride in saying they owned a Maytag washer, mine included. It had a reputation as being a very dependable machine. What happen? Did quality go down the tubes after Maytag was acquired by Whirlpool in 2006? Or was it happening before that? What happened to companies backing their products and taking pride in what they produce? After this experience I will never own another and will let everyone I know that “it is the luck of the draw” on getting Maytag that will not last more than a couple of years.

I bought a maytag top load washer model # MVWB835DW in november 2015.
My washer was 11 months old and broke down. Repair people came quickly and said it was the motherboard that went which is a $500.00 part. I thought it was a fluke it broke but i bought the extended warranty just in case. Now my washer is 16 months old and broke again for same problem E-2, F-6 code.
Warranty company gives repair to someone 45 minutes away from me and they have done nothing but give me a run around. TURNED REPAIR IN ON APRIL 2ND AND STILL NOT FIXED. I have a family of 4 and need my washer. I thought maytag was a good brand that would last awhile boy was i wrong. I just love going to the laundry mat ! I have spent $60.00 and counting.. it would be nice if you would do something to make it right.

Just want anyone who was thinking of trading their old washer in for a more efficient one to know, it is the biggest waste of money out there and you will only be mad! They do not work! I appreciate companies trying to save us money but if we pay our water bill we should be able to decide how much water our washer uses! If you have to buy a new washer you are screwed because that is all there is now. You have to add your own water with a bucket and you will have to wash your clothes several times to get the soap out! I wish there was a way around this stupidity!

In November of 2016 we purchased a high-end, high-priced Maytag Washer and Dryer.
We have had nothing but trouble with both appliances, and Lowes won't exchange after the first month. We purchased long-term warranties on both appliances, and are now getting the run-around from the local/Lowes service provider.
The dryer has never worked, and we've had 4 service calls on the dryer. We were told that after three service calls without fixing the problem with the dryer, the dryer can be exchanged. When I asked the servicing company the number of service calls, they told me 2 (one call for a part, and two calls within the same month). We are just getting one excuse after the other to keep us from exchanging the dryer.
Now, we're having a problem with the washer. The last load I washed
came out spotty (light and dark - like the old "tie dyes), and the washer has been causing my bathroom rugs to come unstitched at the seams. These problems have not happened before, and Maytag says I'm using the wrong washing products (I'm very careful with my clothes and the products I use)... they're also saying that the fraying bath rugs are caused by usage (they are almost new, and I've never had this problem before). I am convinced that whatever I do, Maytag will make excuses for exchanging out the washer. I'm afraid to use it - for any future clothing or bedding.
We are so disgusted that we don't know where to turn. We are convinced that neither Maytag or Lowes will do anything about our very severe problem.
Please help us.
