GMPartsDirect.com Scam

So stupefyingly hideous is the Gmpartsdirect.com experience, you'll need to bathe in 10 gallons of disinfectant, get a full-body scrub and shampoo with vinegar to remove the scummy residue that remains after buying a part from Gmpartsdirect.com experience. It is a scam.

Purchased a bolt from Gmpartsdirect.com. Single bolt. Was charged - ready? - $2 for the bolt and $20 "shipping." For a 2-ounce, 1-1/2" piece of metal that would fit in a normal #10 business envelope.

Anyway, Gmpartsdirect.com sent the wrong bolt - say by a mile. Not even close.

Thus, the ambush began.

After several e-mails, back and forth, Gmpartsdirect.com, without ever admitting error, finally agreed to accept return of the wrong item. BUT, for the first time, Gmpartsdirect.com revealed that it does not refund shipping charges - even if it shipped the wrong part. Their mistake. You pay.

Wait. Wait. There's still some chicken on that bone. Even if Gmpartsdirect.com ships the wrong item, it charges the customer a "restocking fee" IF it agrees to a return. Yep. Their "mistake." You pay. You eat the artificially bloated "shipping" charge AND a mysterious "restocking" fee. Gmpartsdirect.com is coldly efficient for what it is. But what it is - is a scam. Full stop.

Desired outcome: GM sues GM Parts Direct for damaging their brand.

GMPartsDirect.com automotive parts

On 16 January I ordered a $600.00 catalytic converter (plus paid almost $100.00 for expedited two-day shipping) for my truck. On 22 January the part still had not shipped. Since the part was for my primary vehicle, I found the part locally and installed it. I went to the gmpartsdirect.com website and opened a help ticket requesting cancellation of the order, and got a reply email that my request had been received and was being processed. Seven days later on 29 January I got a notification from FEDEX that the part was shipped on 28 January and would be delivered 29 January. I promptly called flow chevrolet, the owners of the gmpartsdirect.com website, and asked them why my order was not cancelled. The rep apologized and said that they were a small company and sometimes the staff was unable to process all of the incoming email in a timely manner. I told her I was not going to accept delivery of the part (a signature was required). She said that was fine when they received the part back they would return my payment minus shipping and a restocking fee of 25%. The expedited original shipping plus the return shipping plus the 25% restocking fee amounted to almost $300.00. I asked her why the company would not accept responsibility for their failure to cancel the order promptly and she said their return restocking fees and shipping policies are in effect no matter what the reason for the return. BUYER BEWARE!

GMPartsDirect.com selling auto parts that don't work, advertising a return policy that is nothing but a run around.

Ordered a power window regulator for a 2002 Silverado 2500HD 12/8/19. order #1104655
Received the part a week later. Installed in on my truck and it did not raise and lower the window. I was able to repiar the old regulator. I contacted GM parst Direct on 12/16/19 through their web site return policy program. Completed the form and was immedately issued a "suppot ticket #". Was not provided directions what to do with it. No further rosponce so I repeted this again on 12/20/19, again on 12/25/19, again on 12/27/19. When i call the phone number provided on their web site you only get a message that youyhave diled a number that in incorrect. This company is advertising policies and proceedures that false.

GMPartsDirect.com poor service and shipping

I placed my order in september for two wiper arms! After the gm strike ended I expected the parts to be delivered maybe after a week or two, here I am two months past my order still without wiper arms and my window getting scratched. I placed a ticket in their online system and found out from the manager today that the online ticket system closed my ticket without ever passing by a desk of a customer service associate. I come to find out they just blame everything on gm. They never tried to help with the order at all. They then called me rude I never used profane language or anything. The indicated one of my wiperarms was in stock but not the other and that is why they could not ship. Then the manager indicated that I could cancel the order, which I did. I figured I should just find the parts used in a junkyard before dealing with these idiots. Do not use gm parts direct go aftermarket parts they have poor service and would rather you just take your business elsewhere! : (

GMPartsDirect.com online purchase

On October 28, 2019 I ordered a crankshaft from gmpartsdirect, which is owned and operated by Flow Buick GMC of Winston-Salem, for $190.63 plus shipping, totaling $221.81. According to the website, orders generally ship within 3 business days. If the items are not in stock, the website says that the items would ship in 3-7 days. Upon placing my order, nothing was stated that the item was not in stock. On the 3rd day, December 31, 2019, I called to enquire as to when my order would ship. I was informed that due to recent GM Strike, that my order would ship late. I Asked if I would receive my order by Friday, November 9, 2019, and I was informed that I would not, I was also informed that I should see if I could purchase my part locally. I agreed and requested a refund. The representative said no problem and our conversation ended. I received another phone call shortly after from gmpartsdirect. I was left a voice mail stating that I would be charged a 35% restocking fee for canceling my order. I immediately called back and was told the same thing. I asked the representative how could I be charged for a restocking fee of an item that THEY don't have in stock?! I was told that once an order is placed, they have to charge the restocking fee upon cancellation. I was told that it would take about a month to get the part, so GM had not shipped the item to the dealership yet! So why am I being charged for something that hasn't even been shipped out yet!?

GMPartsDirect.com online sales

I ordered Oe (acdelco) brake pads, was told that they were coming from the factory. They sent me a box from the returns dept, with used, chipped pads from who knows what vehicle. I called them to complain about it, and got an email with some bogus ticket number, which they closed without addressing the issue days later. Will not respond to paypal dispute either. Complete SCAM.

GMPartsDirect.com online parts order

I ordered a hitch for my truck which the website says is the correct one for my truck. After waiting two weeks to receive the part The hitch does not fit. I have left multiple messages and have received no reply. I have sent multiple e-mails to them over the past few weeks and have gotten no response. No one ever answers the phone. This website is a scam.

GMPartsDirect.com Don't do business with these people

Site failed when I tried to order a part. Site indicated that technical team was correcting a problem. No indication that my order went through. Next day I received an email that the part was ordered. I tried to cancel the order but they would not cancel. They charge $20 restocking fee to return part and want a lot of information. They try to make it very difficult to return parts. Not customer focused. Despite their website failure, they are determined to make a profit from me. They also doubled charged my credit card.

Don't do business with these people.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IF YOU EVEN GET A REPLY!

"This company has the worst customer service of any online retailer I have ever used. It took over a week to get someone to answer an email and forget about the phone, no one ever answers and they will not call you back if you leave a message or request a call in an email. My biggest complaint is their return policy. I ordered a part through their on line catalog, the catalog picture labeling was wrong and the text was misleading so I end up with the wrong part because of these errors in their catalog. Their response was
"Upon placing a new order with GmPartsDirect.com for the correct part number by our customer service team, we will override the site policies this once and authorize a return for part number [protected], restocking fees will be reduced to 20% from 35%.
Please keep in mind part number [protected] is a special order part and is not returnable. The online catalog is offered by RevolutionParts, a third party vendor.
If the rear manifold pipe is needed a new order will need to be placed for part number [protected] via the website. Please reply to this email supplying your new order number to receive your RGA number and complete return instructions."
I do not feel I should be charged a restocking fee for an error in their catalog, I WILL NEVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN.

GMPartsDirect.com return plicy

I ordered a replacement seat cushion for my Grand Am using the part number off their website. Well the part ended up being the wrong part due to their wrong part number. The correct part is no longer made and they or GM must have substituted a different part that was only off by one number but it will not fit in the seat properly. I'm sure the number was substituted in order to try and get rid of the seat cushions they had in stock. Gmpartsdirect.com will not take the part back because i did not verify the part number before i ordered it. There is no way to verify the number by phone since they have no phone customer service, only email. I'd love to use some choice words about what i think of them but i will only say that i will never ever order from them again for myself or my friend's cars.

Do Not Trust Their Part Numbers on anything special order or really any part because i read that it is a pain to return any part. If you are in a rush for a part, do not bother with them because the whole idea of having to email them to verify part numbers is nutty.

I ordered a power window regulator and it failed to operate and would not open and close the window. I have filled out the request on line for a return ticket before I give them back the part. I have done this four times and have been issued four ticket #'s. I don't know what to do with them? I have also contacted them by phone and if someone answers they say they can't help me but will have a co-worker contact tomorrow. Never happened. This company does not have a legitimate return program and you should avoid doing ANY business with them. I think there are enough similar complaints to generate a class action law suite to get this company off the internet and try to recover our money paid in good faith for products that work and are correct for the vehicles they were ordered for.

I ordered a "coded" key FOB for my 2013 Chevy Malibu. Because the "coded" key fob cost more that the non-coded version, I expected it to immediately open my car door since I provided my car's VIN#. I also thought the key would be cut to match my VIN#, but it came blank. I also noticed that the part # they sent me, did not match the part # I ordered (that was clearly on my order receipt). I complained about both and they just sent me their return policy information that required me to pay the return shipping costs and a 25% re-stocking fee. I wrote another email saying I would not pay anything for a part their people sent me that was wrong. I requested a call from a supervisor, and even after I sent a third email, I received no communication from them. Bottom line, their alleged customer service SUCKS! Warning - DO NOT buy anything from this company as they are scammers and have horrible customer service.

GMpartsdirect is the WORST online purchase experience I have ever had. 3 weeks to get a simple order, non existent customer service. I sent 2 emails with no reply, left a message, with no call back. when I did finally receive the order, a part was missing, and I certainly dont expect a reply about this ( emailed them already). RUN... far and fast away from this company.

Their shipping was so slow that I had to order my parts from somewhere else. When I tried to cancel the order with GMPartsdirect because it was going to take more than a week for delivery, they refused. What's even more frustrating is that I paid extra for 2-day shipping and then it took 7 days for them to ship the parts. Believe it or not, I will go to a dealership to buy my parts before I will go to GMPartsdirect in the future.

Don't bother getting a phone number. Even if you do speak to a live person, in my case the Manager, you still get scammed and nothing he says will be done. I've been three days, my funds are tied up with paypal and I don't even have a conformation a part is ordered. I have emailed each day and apparantly my email has been sent to junk because I get no responce. I have filed a BB complaint, but a lot of good it will do with my part.
SUMMARY, no matter what the price, it's not work the aggrevation and being treated like a piece of Crap. JUST DON'T DO IT, YOU'LL BE SORRY.

GMPartsDirect.com Slow order process

Ordered a spare tire hoist for my 2000 Chev Tahoe on May 21 2008. Received order number (206090) via email on same date. Email did not indicate part was backordered or any status on the order. After a weeks time the order status on the web site finally changed from IN PROCESS to ON ORDER? No explanation what ON ORDER means?

Waited another week and sent an email asking for status on order. Did not receive ANY other correspondence from GMPartsdirect.com about my order.

Sent a second EMAIL asking for order status, and frankly I assume I have lost my $108 order.

1) At best this site is the SLOWEST order processing Internet site I have ever dealt with. Initially the price was right for the part, but now I should have ordered it from the dealer and paid the extra $30.

2) The customer service is MISSING IN ACTION.

3) Today is June 2nd 2008. 13 days after ordering my part from GMPARTSDIRECT.COM. A day after this order, I ordered a part from Monoprice.com for my boat and a part from Sears.com for my lawnmower. I have already installed both of these parts.

Ordered part from them. Due to GM strike there was a delay in shipping my part. After 4 days I ordered my transaction to be cancelled. I was charged a 35% restocking fee, because they had to order the part from GM before shipping to me. Scammers they seem.

I've been 4 days, my funds are tied up and I don't even know if I have an order. No email responce, no phone support and no comformation of any sort, YOU do the MATH. Don't mess with GMPARTSDIRECT. You'll be sorry and the little bit of discount is not worth it. You may also consider that they offer the part at a low price but make up on it on shipping and handling. If you ask for a refund, what are you going to get if anything. The full amount or the price of the part. They charge at least 26% of the item price for shipping and handleing. I'll bet this isn't going to be refunded.
