Geeks.com has regularly advertised for years 'locals-only' specials. These supposed specials are for products purchased at its location in Oceanside, CA. The truth is that these offers are no different than their online pricing available to anyone, local or not; in fact the very same products can be purchased from their website at the same prices that are advertised as 'locals-only'. This is nothing more than hype and false advertising.

Geeks.com's website also switched the price of a product during my checkout, advertising a product at a price that the product was not able to be purchased at. I have contacted the company three times regarding this issue, simply requesting to purchase the product at the advertised price, and have received no response after 32 days. I have the text of these communications available as well as a historical collection of their 'locals-only' emails, and will be selecting a law firm shortly.

Customer service is really bad. I spent 45 mins on the phone after submitting an order on a Thursday with 1 day shipping. It is Monday and the order is still en route. I was very disappointed with Geeks' customer service as they were unwilling to adjust my shipping pricing and tried to explain that it was not their fault. This is my first and last experience with this online seller. Hopefully the products are good quality.

I bought a refurbished ibook fro Geeks.com and when I called the first time to ask how to get past admin and password, the tech support acted as if I was stupid, made a suggestion and when I told him it was still scrolling he became impatient and told me to just mail it back. I later solved the problem myself. When I called again to ask about returning it because it does nothing and would cost me loads to upgrade, when I asked the woman to repeat herself, she rudely told me maybe I needed to call back. I am very unhappy with not only the product (which is partially my fault for ignorantly ordering) but more for the tone of the tech support.

The subject line of your message says "sold me junk card reader."

What did you buy from the company?

Did you buy a "junk card reader" -- a device that reads junk?

Or did you buy a card reader that is poorly made, not worth the price you paid for it, etc.; i.e., a "piece of junk?'

What is wrong with whatever it is that you purchased? Does it have a warranty? Have you contacted the company from which you purchased the item?

I had the EXACT same situation with this company happen to me in July. I purchased a refurbished Logitech Harmony remote which did not work. When I called for support I was told that they would replace it with the same model or upgrade to a nicer one. I spent $18 to send it back. They offered store credit stating there were no other remotes to give me. They did give me a refund for the purchase price without hassle, but refused to compensate me for the original $5.00 I paid for shipping the item the first time or the $18 I paid to ship the defective back. Buyer Beware!

Geeks.com is a freaking scam. these # sent me a defective item and did not compensate for it. they gave me my money back, but did not compensate for any of the shipping at all. I kept asking them to compensate for $22 lost due to shipping, but they simply would not. like wtf? is it my fault you gave me a # item? no. this website is a #ing scam and do not do business with them.
