Emirates poor check in service

Dear Sir,

We had a terrible experience with emirates airlines on 6th od Dec 2008, our flight from dubai was due to depart at 1400hrs to Damascus and we reported at the airport (terminal 3) at 12:40 in the afternoon. inspite of so many check in counters at the new terminal there was lack of staff and thus we were not able to check in. i was travelling with my 6month old child and old parents, at the last moment one of your staff comes and says that "anyone flying to damascus" it was so ridiculous because once we reached the counter after waiting for about 40 mintues we were told that the flight has been closed and cannot reopen.

Then after we spoke to the supervisor and she gave us a very disgusting and dissatisfying answer, there was a flight next day in the morning but she could not give us confirmed seats on the flight and said u can always 'try'. on top of that she said we announced a lot of times but thats not true because we didnt hear anything and we were not the only one there were other passengers with us, so how is it possible that none of us heard?. now we have no chance but to travel with Ek on 11th of Dec 2008, in this case you should atleast compensate us by atleast upgrading our tickets or provide some speacial services. and to let you know that we are the skywards members as well.

anyhow i feel i was wrong at trusting emirates airlines and will make sure that i or any of my family member have to never travel with emirates again, i m sure that does make a difference to you, coz you have thousands of passengers waiting to travel. but remember one thing today you have dissatisfied one customer tomorrow may be other and may be you will at the end lose trust of all your customers.

hope that you will take strict action and help your clients.

Regards,
Saba Hasnain Raza

Emirates rude behaviour and poor staff efficiency

last week i visted emiretes office in islamabad(blue area) for buying my ticket for newyork via dubai the staff there was very inhospitable and rude nobody was paying attention on his or her work most of the staff was sitting idle they were not guiding people in a proper manner in which they are supposed to their behaviour was very rude as if they were ready to fight specially a lady named AMINA OMER who was not paying attention on her work when i asked her about my reservation she showed very rude and agressive behaviour i strictly condemn this behaviour and such staff should be kicked out. The passangers spend a lot of money and in the end getting a service like this and such a rude behaviour from the staff is a matter of shame specially from the airline like emirates. i think that the airline should take strickt action against such people as it could affect the popularity and the business of the airline.

Emirates non - refundable tickets

I bought a ticket through the emirates.com, the ticket says non-refundable, the website does not give you the option to select the duration of the ticket (year or 6 month).
The ticket is NY, Dubai, Khartoum, Dubai, NY. the ticket from Khartoum was lost, I did not get any help and the last message I got in my voice mail after I contacted the NY office many times and submittin g the indemnity form that if the ticket is expired they can not do anything ...hello, where is my money, I did not used a whole trip, alteast give me something miles for example but don't rip me more than 850.
The worse part when you call the 1800 some one picking the phone in India and they have no clue to solve any problem, most of the time they ask you to call again and if lucky to get some one in US to speak to you.

Safety issue about emirates flight

I recently traveled with emirates from sydney to dhaka via dubai. On last year 13th december my flight was ek 413 from sydney-dubai. The first time traveling with emirates air bus so it was very exciting to me and I traveled with my family. My daughter is 1year old so I took seat last cabin of the flight as the other passenger will not get disturb if my infant kid will cry. Any way, the meal time - we are waiting and waiting but no meal is coming. We were very hungry as the flight has been depart at 10pm and we left home in evening. They has been served to all cabin except the last one. I could not wait so long and ask a cabin crew where is our food? She told me she forgotten and told sorry! We found very strange when she did the same thing in breakfast time. I asked how can she forget all the time about the meal for the passenger? She told me that its a big flight and they cant remember! I told each cabin has nominated crew to serve and in air bus they do shift duty so how come they forget. She didnt reply me any thing about it. Any way now come to the main issue—

On 14th of december 2017 our flight was ek586 from dubai to dhaka. The transfer from airport to the flight via transit bus after a long waiting. Any way, we found in the flight that our seat arenot in serial that we booked for. So many other passenger came from europe and states who are going facing the same problem. When arrived we just seat on our located seat. But one family told me to exchange that we both family can be seat with our family member. I asked the cabin crew naznin and she told me that we cant seat with the infant as it was emergency exit row seats. I agreed and told her that we adult will seat there if it is ok for the flight. She gave us permission and we 3 adult (Window exit I sat and other 2 passenger from that family who wanted to exchange). Ok the flight has been departed and there was not safety video which is making me very strange. I was thinking about what cabin crew naznin told when we departed that exit row no child or infant can seat as a matter of safety. I want to tell about my self I am a marine engineer and working for australian merchant navy for the last 10years.20years I am flying with different air lines in every month. Last 5years I am qantas frequent flyer gold member. So could not accept what they did. I asked the cabin crew as she told about the safety matter about the exit row seat. Then before departure why she did not explain the emergency operation of the emergency exit door? Where is the safety has been maintained by emirates before flying? I asked the safety video matter too. She told it has been shown on tv screen. Then I asked my co passenger about safety video they had watch or not? They all said that they haven't seen. She was so grumpy and told that its not to explain the emergency exit door operation in case of emergency when we take off. She will explain to all of us when we will land and regarding the safety video she told it may be shown before we on board! I told her how come it is possible before all the passenger arrived the safety video has been shown. So I told her I am not happy about the safety video and emergency exit row responsibly explain with demonstration.
After 10minutes, she came with another cabin crew name ellie. He told me whats my problem. I told what happen. Then he told me that he can select any person in this flight for emergency operation of the emergency exit door. He is not suppose to demonstrate me. Then I told him that how come it is possible? If he will select some one from the end row of the flight then in case emergency how the person can come to operate the emergency door? He didnt answer my this question and walk off with the cabin crew naznin.
We came back to sydney our home and the same thing happen to the flight in ek 412 on 19th january, 2017 - no food served in last cabin and same excuse.
Any way, I cant accept that the excuse that the air bus is very big and so many passenger that they cant look after all. They has nominated cabin to look after and we pay for the service in advance. Why should we will not get that. Ok, we can consider this food matter for this time as it was in xmas and school holiday season so they were busy but how come when safety issue is coming for the safety video and a sily explanation about the demonstration of emergency exit row seat matter. I really cant consider that safety issue. I will be highly oblige if emirates air lines will investigate that matter and improve the skill of the cabin crew and to give them more information about the safety of the flight and duty of care.
I am waiting for the kind reply from emrates to investigate about the safety issue and resolve that problem that every one can fly with emirates safe with enjoy
Thanks

To answer your question about the exit door (I am not Emirates staff but I used to fly as cabin crew with Australian airline)

It is not required for the passenger to individually be shown how to operate the door if that door has crew seated next to it, unless there is a known emergency during the flight. In this case the crew select passengers physically able and give them a briefing on how to operate the door. (This is what the guy meant when he said 'selecting passengers')

The information on how to open the door is printed on the door itself and also on the safety card. The aircraft manufacturer and the regulators do not consider full-size doors to be "self help exits" as trained crew are present to operate them.

If you have travelled on smaller aircraft (such as B737 or A320) then you may have seen passengers being told how to operate the over-wing window emergency exit. ("self help exit") You may notice there are no crew member stationed at these exits during take off and landing. Therefore, the passengers are told what to do in an emergency. Again, this is not necessary when crew members are present next to the exit for takeoff and landing.

Hope this clears your confusion with this.

Emirates lost baggage

My son travelled from Ahmedabad to Leeds via London Heathrow airport and the biggest check in baggage of his was not retreived. He has complained the lost baggage at the London Heathrow airport and proceeded to Leeds. After several mails the following is the reply I ( his father ) got after 50 days. This is totally un acceptable and I request the highest authority of Emirates to look in to this otherwise I shall be constrained to go to the cunsumor protection courts in India.

Our Ref: DXB/X/SK/160908/6629116
29 October 2008

r M Gangadhara Rao

Email: [protected]@rediffmail.com

Dear Mr Rao,

Baggage Claim Reference: AHL LHREK32300 / 12 September 2008

I refer to our previous correspondence in connection with the above baggage claim which was lodged by your son at London Heathrow airport.

Your son’s baggage claim was referred to our Central Baggage Tracing Unit for extensive tracing to be conducted. However, despite the best efforts of our staff, regrettably, we have been unable to find his bag.

A thorough investigation was conducted by us and we wish to advise you of our findings.

Our records show that your son had checked-in two bags at Ahmedabad airport and tag numbers EK004303 and EK004304 were issued. These bags were received at Dubai airport from the same flight on which he travelled, EK539 from Ahmedabad to Dubai on 12 September 2008.

The bags were subsequently loaded on your son’s connecting flight EK029 from Dubai to London Heathrow on 12 September. Both bags were loaded in baggage container number AKE13637EK.

This is a direct non-stop flight from Dubai to London Heathrow and all bags were delivered to the baggage carousel at London Heathrow airport. It is, therefore, surprising that your son received only one of his two bags.

I wish to advise you that lodging a missing baggage report on arrival, and subsequently completing the Baggage Inventory Form, does not automatically constitute acceptance of liability on the part of Emirates, and this statement is clearly printed on all our baggage reports and the Baggage Inventory Forms.

Regrettably, we are unable to consider your son’s claim on this occasion.

Thank you for allowing me to respond.

Yours sincerely,

Shashikala Saravanan

Now after chasing a lot and suffering and spending lots of money they offer 240$ which I really do not need this but my bag. I have spent more than that for travelling from Zanjan to Tehran many times or calling them offten and often.

Emirates baggage lost, delay in flight

I have travelled by your airlines on 31.10.2008 from Kolkata, India to Muscat, Oman via Dubai. My flight no was EK 571 Y and EK 6478 Y respectively.
Complain no 1:- The EDT of EK 6478 was scheduled in the ticket as 1855 from Dubai. But without prior information it has been delayed to 2010 and merged with WY 0612. When I have asked at Transfer Desk B and C at Dubai international airport about EK6478, the personnel has told that they don't know about the flight name. Ultimately at 1700 hrs the display board shown that the timing of EK 6478 is 2010 hrs. This is the service of Emirates airlines!
Complain no 2:-
Though I have purchased the ticket of EK6478, I have got the boarding pass of WY 0612 at Dubai International airport. When I have reached at Muscat airport I have come to know that my baggage is still at Dubai airport. I have reached Dubai at 1300 hrs and left for Muscat at 2010 hrs. In this huge gap Emirates cann't communicate with Oman air for luggage transfer!
Ultimately I had lodged the Property Irregularity Report at Muscat Airport on 31.10.2008 at 1746 GMT. But till now I have not received any information about my baggage. Is this a good service from Emirates airlines?
What I have to do to get back my Luggage?

it would appear that 'dubai' is still creating issues with lost baggage, my parents has now been lost for three days. How long was it before you got your luggage back?

Emirates no exact information about transit visa

I am student. I want to go to san francisco.
Last night I had valid ticket and valid visa of united states.
My flights were as following:
Larnaka-dubai with emirates airline (Ek 108)
Dubai-landon again with emirates airline (Ek 007)
Landon-sf with virgin athlantic (Vs 019)
I bought my ticket from emirates airline from iran and them come to larnaka to pick up my us visa form its embassy at nicosia.
My ticket includes all of my flights. It is worth mention that it was return ticket. And cost me 2250$.

When I want to check in to fly to san francisco, the emirates crew and officers did not let me to check in. The reason was that I don't have transit visa of landon. I explain them that because I have unites states visa in my passport I don't need landon transit visa. But they don't have exact information about this problem, and they said we can let you check in.
You can check this site. See "passengers exempt from the datv requirements" part. That proves I don't need landon transit visa.

Http://www.Ukvisas.Gov. Uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvnationals

I miss my flight and tomorrow morning I again go to the airport and prove them that did not need any transit visa. They said I should email to emirates. They don't care that I am studen and have no extra money to buy to pay for hotel and food.

My ticket that I bought from emirates airline cost me 2250 $ and I miss my flight because of its crews. My new ticket from another airline costs me 1060 $. I have to stay in cyprus for more 2 days and should pay for it.
I want to refund all of my money from emirates airline because that was their problem, and do not know about the condition and requirements of transit visa.
With whom should I talk? I want all of my money.

Emirates lost baggage complaint

Dear sir,
I am writing with great disappointment in regards of my friend (Mr.Syed Mujahid Hussain Shah)’s lost baggage during a flight journey on board this airline flight EK607 from Karachi to Dubai on 6th April 2017.For your kind information, my friend Mr.Mujahid has lodged a complaint to the concern airline customer service and senior claim assistant in charged (Asilya Mukhidinova) in regards of this matter but he has not had a satisfactory answer nor any reply from them but in turn they declined to take any responsibility on this matter and they harshly told my friend that they have his baggage in the same flight but they are unwilling to handle it back to him. I strongly object to the treatment received by my friend from this airliner staffs. This shows the bad reputation of the EMIRATES AIRLINE service to its customers. All the valuables inside my friend’s baggage worth AED47 000 in total. Please kindly do your best and promptly take any action on this matter. My friend’s mobile number is +[protected].Thank you.

Since last two days I was trying to cancel one of my booking via Emirates Airlines. But still I am struggling with their web procedures. There were lot of things I had to do for a booking cancellation. When I completed all requested details then the call center guy he simply cancelled my booking and told me that if you need to refund then you have to fill an online application form . Then again I contacted the call center and they told me that I have to buy a new system with new OS since their application is not working in my system. So they suggested me to have a system with maxilla, Google Grome, etc. .or buy a new computer ! So if I want to get my money back I have to spend two thousand dhs TOO.

I don't think the call center guys / girls were handled this situation in a nice way. They were challenged me. Even they told us to change the system (latptop/ desktop). Any comments

i think emirates airline must intervene in the waytheir customers are being treated by dubai immigration officers.i was travelling from south africa to united kingdom via dubai through emirates airline.i was asked questions about my visit to uk which i did n't mind because it was their duty as immigration officers. what upset me was to go further when it was clear in passport that i've got aleave to remain in england and it was clear on the passport that i was in uk 3weeks ago, i was travelling with my wife and 3 year old boy who is british citizen because of my leave to remain status. despite that clear information they further asked employment photographic cards and uk driving licence-this was a suprise as i did n't know that when going abroad i must carry all of this and further more i've travelled via a lot of airports in my 8 year stay in england and i was not put in such a situation . iwas not travelling to united arab emirates which i would expert.this did n't happen in newcastle which i would expert and had never happened before.the same thing happen to a fellow south african who was travelling to uk on the same flight and to my sister today .what we noticed is that, all other nationals were free to go, it was the black foreigh nationals stopped, is this airport starting to be racist.
if emirates airline is not interfering, this will have an effect on their customers travelling on their airline, as from now i don't think i'll ever go via that airport where certain individuals are treated as terrorist because of the colour of their skin and country of origin.

I have only heard good things about emirates and this was why I choose to use them. Sadly the food and the service was shocking.
I pressed the attendant alert button several times and no one bothered to come to me. I was in a window seat and was forced to
Ask two passengers to get out their seat so I could get some attention from this unenthusiastic cabin crew members.
For lunch which was served nearly two hours after lunch time the crew informed us they on had fish. As a person who is allergic to seafood this was not going to work for me. There was no chicken no beef no ham no pork. Just fish. After raising my voice in disgust that
They only had fish. Some cabin crew members went back and suddenly chicken became available. Why does one need to raise their voice every time the service is poor? And only then people come around?

My flight was 24 hours long which in essence is a whole day in the air. Normal people eat three meals a day. I am a grown man and delivering half a pizza late that night was disgraceful. Well the piece of pizza was so small it was finished in less than three minutes.
I attempted to call a cabin crew member and enquire about getting some more food. After many attempts and no joy I had to get people to move again as the entire crew were too busy in the half hour of calling to get to me. ("this is not the type of service I had expected from emirates. ") I asked if there were some more of what ever they had to which they responded no. Now, I know as a well seasoned traveller that there is always a couple of boxes extra. My question is this? Where did they go? As stated earlier I am a grown man the kiddie size portions is just not going to cut it.

By the time breakfast came round I was starving, we had a choice of omelette or scrambled eggs. I opted for the omelette. Upon opening it I noticed there was mushrooms in the same plate. Unfortunately I am also highly allergic to mushrooms which as one knows is a fungus.
I scoop out all the mushrooms and ate the balance of the food. Well it was not long and I was throwing up and had an upset stomach.

In the early hours of the morning as it was just getting light I was about to start taking some pictures when the steward leaned over every one and with the use of a coat hanger and his arm in front of my face slid the shatter down. I found this this to be very rude and highly offensive. It is in the same league putting the palm of your hand in some ones face! I was angry!

The cold beverages were lukewarm and the coffee was at room temperature. I have never been so disappointed in an airline as I was today.

The head set I received was faulty and about an hour before we were due to disembark the steward came round collecting headsets.

Having believed that Emirates was an airline with excellent service; we booked a return flight to Bangkok via Dubai.
On the outward flight my special dietary meal was not available. The steward promised to return after the meal to fill in the missing form. An hour and a half later I had to go and find him. (Chatting to a stewardess). The service throughout was slipshod, eg: dirty trays left for much longer than any other airline I've experienced; the steward/esses chatting and ignoring repeated calls from travelers.

On the return flight; I got my special meal half an hour before my husband; which was perhaps unavoidable. However, after I had finished I sat with a dirty tray in front of me for a full two hours and fifteen minutes. Useful if you want to trap customers whilst you serve tea and coffee! In the end several people in aisle seats began to take their trays back. Who can blame them? I had cramp and backache from my inability to move; I needed the toilet and, consequently had my worst flight experience ever. Pinning customers in in such a manner, on a long flight isn't just inconsiderate; it's downright cruel and potentially dangerous when one is unable to move one's legs for such a stretch of time.

1) i want to appraise your airplane fleet and the nice airport. However, I have two complaints about arrival lounge. We have arrived yesterday (Sunday 8 may & rsquo;11) form the atlanta on delta airline and going the transfer area for my connecting flight to dammam. Unfortunately there was no emirates counter. We had to walk all the way across the upper level to the other side which was a very long walk beside there were no trolleys or buggies to place the carry on. We were walking in a twilight zone not knowing where we were heading. We had to ask anyone where is the transfer counters. If there were signs, they were not posted clearly. (I am not talking about the airport where the gates, I am referring to the back side as to exit to dubai)
I am certainly surprise that emirates does not have a counter in the arrival are for other international airlines. One way is to have passengers escorted by a bus to the other side. My concern was to make sure I arrive at the counter to secure our connecting boarding pass.

After long walk and agony, the person (Pilipino) at the counter asked us what the weights of our checked in luggage are. Otherwise he will not issue the boarding pass. I had to talk to the supervisor (Syrian) who I guess gave him the signal to issue the boarding pass. The general attitude that was not good as they were only defending emirate airline and not caring about the passenger comfort.
The general attitude was go and complain, well I guess this is what I am doing hoping this never happen again.
Emirate airline is in the marketing business, but certainly, what I saw was not far from saudi airline.
One will expect to see an emirate transfer counter on arrival, we would have received our boarding passes and could used the time shopping on having coffee at the restaurants while heading to the gate which is far away, but this could help the passenger comfort. We were rushing not knowing where we were heading in the airport into the twilight zone.

This is certainly did not give me a good impression and I will make sure about my future flying routs.

2) another issue concern the airport.
After getting the boarding passes, we were looking for gate 212, we followed the signs all the way to see a sign for gates 209 through 216. Getting to the right hand side walk way, we had to go all the way back to gate 212. I said this is in arabic, where is your ear ya juha?

I am very sorry to say that emirtes airline is worst airline. I had very bad experience in 2017 but yesterday in spt24, 2017 I bought a ticket on teh phone from emirates airline directly. The representative who was helping o me was very nice but he did not mentioned the all information at the time of purchase this ticket. When I got the e-ticket in my email, I noticed that the two pices of 25 lbs each luggage is allow to carry from ny to damascus but from dubai to karachi only 30 kg is allow. How come this could happen to us. He said I am allow to carry two pieces of luggage until my final destination which is karachi.
I am taking my 24 months daughter who is very sick and the main reason to take her for 3 days in syria for pilgrim there. After short transit in syria I have to proceed to karachi.
There is no make sense to carry two pieces from ny to damasus and then onwards I can not carry two pieces.
I am in a big stress now, icalled many times to get the same representative but they said it is very hard to reach the same representative who booked the ticket for me.
They know this is not right but they can not help me to fix this matter.

Please who ever read this mail, please before buy any ticket from emirates make sure everything is clear otherwise they give a very hard time to passangers.

Please if you can solve my issue then call me on [protected] mr. Raza.

My wife and I arrived at durban airport on the 11th june 2017 in order to take our flight to seoul. After checking in we proceeded through the normal formalities and made our way to the relevant gate for boarding. Thats where it started. We waited in a queue for over an hour only to find out that there was a delay for some unknown reason. After a while, we finally boarded the aircraft.

Everything went as per normal. We took off and all seemed fine up until the cabin lights suddenly dimmed and there was an immediate loss of altitude, feeling as if the plane was falling! A few seconds later, it felt as if it was corrected, but not 100% this all occurred approximately 35minuts into the flight. The captain eventually announced that the one engine had failed and we had to turn back to durban. After a further stressful 30 minutes we finally landed back in durban. The landing was totally horrendous we bounced off the runway twice, probably due to the fact there was engine problems. None the less, we were safe, but my wife was traumatised! All through this time no one offered us water, the airport was total chaos, the airline denying engine failure, just saying all of this was a technicality. Other passengers were stuck with no water waiting an hour and a half with us to go through passport control. We were told to go home, we would recieve a call the next day. We spent r950 on a taxi home, which was another hour and a half. No one helped us even after we tried communicating several times with staff. The following day no one called and by the afternoon we were so stressed we called and made arrangements ourselves.

Totally digusted would like someone to see my perspective, and how would we be re-imbursed?

I have just submitted a complaint and claim to emirates customer affairs in dubai. A changed return flight was not recorded by a member of emirates staff at colombo airport, and resulting chaos and confusion led to a miserable, inconvenient and exhausting journey. I am a retired lone female traveller and emirates ground staff were either useless, or formal to the point of rudeness. Cabin staff had to pick up the peieces and did so very well.
We'll see what response I get - will keep this site uptodate... Annie

Flight EK 978 and EK 217 Oct.28, 2017 both delayed 22 and 68 minutes respectively, many passengers including myself stranded. This airlines fails to get connecting passengers to planes when flights arrive late. Its staff need to learn first lessons in civility and hospitality, .I got sick running for miles across Dubai Airport!. Staff at counter very rude:. They ignored my dietary requests/. I showed my dr’s letter for medical assistance but their head steward disregarded the letter for any accomodation;. They broke my luggage’. Emirates Airlines packs the plan without regards to passenger needs:. It was my first flight with this airline”.

I never had problem like this with other airlines. I have contacted Emirates Cusomer service about my broken luggage and all problems with airline but instead of taking a report they have referred me to a no name email address which I have sent 2 emails. I read somewhere it takes them more than 6 months to respond! I sent an email to your Online Booking Query Department on 25 November 2017 and they forwarded my email to your office in Singapore. I also sent 2 reminders dated 27 & 29 November 2017. Up to now I have not received any reply from your Emirates Office in Singapore.

By not replying my email, Emirates is showing disrespect to me (a 68 year old senior citizen). Therefore, I can conclude that your service staff are negligent in carrying out their duties to seve the customers. By ignoring my email, Emirates gives me the impression that your staff have never been trained to respect and serve their customers. How can Emirates Airlines serve their customers well when they cannot even control the working attitude of their own staff. I hope to get a better response from you this time.

I found no way of providing a feedback to emirates airlines. This is the only way I thought I can share my thoughts about it.

Along with my family I recently went to india by emirates airlines - houston to mumbai via dubai. While boarding from houston, our cabin bags were taken away saying that there was no space (Which we later found, was there). We were not even given any time to take our important stuff to keep with us. Upon asking we were told, that our bags will be given back in dubai. However when we reached dubai, we found out that we had to clear immigration to get our cabin bags, which was not possible. And were asked to transfer those bags to our final destination. We had all our next boarding passes and important papers and things in those bags. Since we had no other choice we had to make a request for the bags to be sent to our final destination.

We got our bags 7 day after we reached. Not only that, the seal was broken and some of the goods stolen!

What I dont get is, why were we not told about the immigration clearance required just to pick our cabin bags. Its not like we didnt ask. After a lot of requesting we were told that we will get our cabin bags without any problem? If the airline crew itself dont know any thing, what are we supposed to do? Its not the money but the memories we lost from the goods that were stolen. All we want is that the culprit should be caught! If the internal airline members do such a thing can we really trust them ?

This has been a very bad experience for my family, never to be forgotten!

Emirates bad manners, con money

Just hours ago my mom had a flight traveling from Birmingham airport to Dubai, the women on counter 81 had the worst manners ever. Impolite, grumpy face, demanding, and suspicious of racism, we walked to the counter she had a grumpy face no greeting or what so ever and demanded the passport "give the passport!", asked some questions she keeps looking other direction and ignoring us (suspicious of racism), we put luggage on the scale she demand us pay the extras "over weight pay up!", we forced to take out the gifts for relatives, at the end, we still 3 kilos over, okay we payed the 3 kilos extra, which was £16 per kilo, through out time at the counter the manners, and facial looks. we feel they treating us like dirt rather than passengers or customers, after the all bad time at counter when my mom got to the boarding gate she was force to pay over £100 for the hand luggage if not they will throw the luggage away, how heavy can a hand held luggage be? £100 is just stupid and why the women at the counter do not warn us at all about fines? guess she what that to happen. All bad manner and service, con money and racism. not boarding emirates ever.

You are warned and told about your restrictions in regards to the weight of checked baggage which in economy on emirates is 20kg and 30 kg in business . Emirates is one of the most lenient of airlines when it comes to luggage and unfortunately if its over then you have to pay..this is not news and all airlines do this.

From ALL U.K airports and in europe especially hand luggage must be of a certain size and must not weigh MORE than 7kg..this is not to annoy customers this is because hatracks (overhead stowages ) are not designed to carry Huge amounts of weight..thats what the cargo hold is for...its is also there to prevent injury. In birmingham they are very strict and in check in area there are MANY signs indicating those restrictions.

The reason why your mother was stopped at the gate and her hand luggage is weighed is because customers tend to hide these little gems that weigh too much...so next time dont be sneaky, check it in and pay the extra.

As for racism ...would this have been the case of your comlaint if she had just been rude and sullen but you hadnt been charged...its so pathetic.

I had travelled from Houston -Dubai - Bangalore on 11 /Nov/08 and to my surprise the checked in luggage was damaged. Sony SLR camera and camcorder missing. The laptop and top half of the luggage inside was soaked in water. All clothes were ransacked and discolored.

To top it all the wise b**** at Bengaluru Airport physically denied my right to lodge a complaint. She abused her junior and threatened them not to provide any support or officially acknowledge my baggage claim. She snatched and tore the piece of paper which her employee tried to hand over to me.

Fellow traveller (white guy) wondered whether they would have guts to behave similarly with a WHITE GUY!

I think its best to stick to BA / European Airline.

Emirates lost baggage/stolen items

We traveled on 15, August 2008 to 17 August 2008 from Denver to New York to Dubai and on to Dar Es Salaam. Somewhere between New York and Dubai our luggage went missing. We were in a group of ten and only one person got their bag on arrival in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania. Each day someone would get a bag and we traveled on to Kiliminjaro airport. Every where we went other people would tell us that Emirates always loses a bag and we would be lucky if all of our items arrived. Each airport passed the blame of what had happened to our bags back to another airport as though no one was to blame and yet always telling us that the bags were just delayed. After not having our bags in Africa until a week had passed the last 5 bags showed up and sure enough we had our shoes stolen, pants, converters and other items. The total is well over $1000 US. They took our complaint in Kiliminjaro(very nice helpful people) and then a list of items stolen after we complained on our return Aug. 31. We have heard not one thing from this company. I recommend you think twice before flying this airline as they are uncommunicative and have proven untrustworthy.

Sir,

I traveled from Manila Philippines on Sept. 7th 2008 to Dubai and transferred to Jupiter Airlines to Baghdad Iraq the morning of the 8th Sept. 2008. I used your Marahaba luggage transfer services with great trust only to find out that I paid 80 USD to lose my luggage. Here it is 14th of Oct and I still haven't gotten my luggage and don't think I ever will. I had in my bags a digital movie camera, all my clothes, medicines and gifts for all my friends.

I'd like to make a formal complaint that you either find my bags and get them to me or I be reimbursed for all my items that total a little over $2000 USD. I would much rather have the bags because there's items in them that simply can't be replaced.

I hear allot of the same stories about your airlines losing luggage and simply don't do anything to find them, but I'm going to see if you ignore my email or I'm going to take it a level higher? One way or the other I expect to hear something back from you.

Regards,

Joel Strawn

Emirates stolen baggage

I recently returned from a trip to Dubai. One of my suitcases never arrived at my final destination. The airline can't even trace whether it left Dubai airport. It was a suitcase with most of my expensive shopping. I suspect my bag was stolen since I opened it infront of a porter who are known to be lookouts to inform the baggage handlers which bag to steal. I just find it strange that my 4 other pieces arrived and the one piece that had the expensive items didn't. I would accept perhaps it got lost if airline can tell me that yes it did leave Dubai airport but they can't. I have heard from many others with similar experiences. I think this is a real shame for Dubai. I plan to on writing to the tourism minister to complain about the number of thefts occuring at this airport. I wouldn't consider vacationing in Dubai again because of this experience. I encourage everyone who has has similar experience at Dubai airport or with Emirates airline to write to him as well. Maybe if enough people write he would consider taking action.

How right you are sir. Emirates have gained a very negative reputation for this sort of thing recently. During the world cup in South Africa there were scores of similar incidents. However the difference there was that their baggage handlers would actually break into peoples' suitcases and select whatever they desired.

Being part of the Emirates at Johannesburg Airport must be like being sent to California during the gold rush for these guys. I have had at least half a dozen friends report theft when using Emirates from Jo'burg.

My personal experience as a Masters student was having an SLR camera stolen, a portable hard-drive with all my work on it and even my back-up USB stick. What hurt most of all was not the cost, but the fact months of hard work and intellectual property have been lost forever.

Worse still, was the fact that every member of the Emirates staff I tried to speak to evaded my questions and kept referring me to someone else. Finally I was told to send an e-mail to customer complaints, and I received an automated response saying it would take 30 days to process my query. Well after much badgering, 47 days later someone replied and basically informed me I was stupid for packing anything of value into my hold luggage!

Next time I need to go to Africa, I think I will fly Virgin. I hear a lot of good stuff about them.

Emirates reemboursment

Dear,
I came from Sydney to Beirut on emirates airline.
I arrived to Dubai on 18 august. I m waiting my flight in airport of Dubai to return to lebanon. The gate was closed with 5 minutes before I arrived & I did not hear any call out & we were 7 personnes with the same situations. My flight number is EK 957. I have to reserve to Oman airlines coz I couldn’t wait the next night emirates flight, and I pay 300 $. I try to ask them to make me a refund but no answer. 2 passengres mr tony sleiman & mss maya abi rached have the same situation but But it seems that they know Mr. Rami in the emirates airport that he have a good position & he change there emirates airlines tickets to Oman airlines tickets without paying anything. Im very sad for the treatment, coz I was expecting that all people are treated equally.

I hope to make me a refund.
Waiting ur reply

Sincerely yours.

Emirates luggage lost

My wife took a flight from Istanbul to Mauritius with Emirates. We were estimating that this airline company was one the best. Correspondance period in Dubai was only 25 minutes and of course luggages didn't loaded to Mauritius plane. Then they found themselves without any luggage.

She will be there for 4 days and for a very clear reason, she has no luggage at her first day(for the moment). Nobody can load in 25 min from one plane to second in any airport. And then her luggage cannot be tracked and no one knows where it is.

This is incredible to leave people without luggage in tropical island and i'm shure they knew it.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Let me introduce myself, my name is Vivek and i was travelling in the Emirates Airlines starting from Trivandrum(India) via Dubai to Milan Malpensa Airport last sunday 2nd September 2007. I had 3 pieces of luggage - (a)my laptop which i took as hand luggage inside the Aircraft and (b)my small bag and (c) My suitcase the two of which i checked in at Trivandrum itself. On my arrival at Milan Malpensa airport at around 12:45 PM i went to the Conveyor for retrieving the luggages. I waited over there for a long time(almost 2hrs) and then another 2 hrs for lodging the complaint in your emirates counter- only my small bag came and not my suitcase.Although i got my Luggage back on 4-Sep-2007, I was put in a very difficult situation because i have been suffering from food poisoning and my medicine was inside the suitcase which did not come - On top of all that my company which is based in Bergamo had sent a taxi to pick me up also left when i came out after making the complaint and i was short of money at that time and some how i managed to reach Bergamo safely. I also had some important official documents, clothes inside the missing luggage. This was a very frustrating and unfortunate incident which indicates the lousy attitude of Emirates for the valuable time and safety of the passengers.

I am a frequent traveler. I traveled by Emirates on 21 Dec from Toronto. On arrival to Dubai my baggage went missing. I had two days stay in Dubai and I called some 40 times at [protected] (which is the only number made available to me by Emirates for baggage problems). Twice someone picked-up the phone and told me how difficult a job it is to retrieve baggage, took my phone number to call back. And that's it. I am totally lost as to my next actions. Waiting...

I was traveling from Kolkata to Doha via Dubai on 30th August 2008 by EK 549 & EK 847, and I had a most harrowing experience with Emirates Airlines. After having cleared a 'blue & black' color combination 'shoulder-slung' type sports kit bag for cabin baggage by the 'check-in' counter official, the 'boarding gate' official declined to allow it to be taken in the cabin and so, finally transferred it to the 'booked baggage' section, to be transported in aircraft baggage hold.

However, on arrival at Doha airport, I discovered that the said bag had gone missing somewhere in Kolkata airport or in transit in Dubai airport. On inquiry with the Qatar Aviation Services officials at Doha airport they said that such an event has happened because the 'boarding gate' official had not tagged the baggage properly. They are trying to locate the missing baggage under File Ref : DOHEK51848.

If the same cannot be traced, I demand full monetary compensation claim from Emirates Airlines!

I traveled from Jeddah - Dubai - Hyderabad (India) on June 09th 2014, on a Umrah trip! I spent well. Myself arrived in Hyderabad Airport late night to chaos when it came to luggage retrieval.

Went to BAGGAGE AT ARRIVAL! What a queue, I was only asking how long more after 2 hrs waiting. My bag was with all, important staff, memoirs, whatever from Makkah & Madina (Money will never replace it) was missing on the baggage belt. Raised complaint with airport department (reference file - *****41622) dated 09 June 2014 as of today they are still finding my bag, gave them pictures of the bag.

I have to call these emirates & airport authority people n number of times daily but still same reply we are searching sir.

Emirates luggage lost

I reached Ahmedabad from Emirates Air-line from flight EK-508. It took almost half an hour for my luggage to come on luggage strap though i cleared my immigration in 5 mins. After then, when i opened my bags at my home, "All the items which are packed in good new packages are missed from my bags". "Even none of the chocolates bags are there in my bag."

Now i am searching a way to figure out this issue but Air-line is not responding me in good way.

Emirates bad services

From,
Dr. Priya ramany,
P. O box-132263, gharnatta street, jeddah 21382, saudi arabia,

To,
The head, emirates airlines dubai,

Dear sir,

Sub:resentment over the poor catering services, poor in flight services on board of ek-804, 241, 242, 243, ticket no:176 [protected], pnr-dsa7fw, dt-09-06-08

I had the unfortunate experience of traveling in emirates flight for the first time from jeddah-dubai-toronto. Let me detail my unpleasant experiences on board.

Iam a pure vegetarian, I don't eat-even eggs.

Ek-804 said that I have not specified veg. Food, hence they let me to starve from jeddah to dubai.

On reaching dubai as well as in toronto, at the airport emirates help desk, I made sure to order for vegetarian indian food covering enroute. To my surprise, I was offered hindu meal which had
Mutton, tuna in breakfast!

When I protested to the in flight supervisor, she gave me a staring look as though, I am unnecessarily fussing for nothing, took a note of my complaint and told me that there is nothing she can provide.

Again I was filling my stomach with water and air, thanks to the kind services on board.

If it is difficult to provide a simple vegetarian meal, you should have told me so, since I would have got a parcel arranged for the entire journey.

It is a shame to pronounce emirates airlines as the best in services, when it is absolutely not true, looking at what I have gone through.

Iam planning to share my bad experience with the media of saudi arabia so that nobody else suffers this treatment in the future.

It is a shame on the emirates to offer such poor services and charge sky rocketing prices for the tickets.

Hope that atleast there will be suitable action and reply to my accussation asap.

Bottom line is Emirates, like every other business really dont care about customers. They do fancy things like provide free cars for business and first class customers but do nothng more than any other airline for economy class passengers. Theyt are a big corporate company who when it comes down to it just dont really care. Full of corporate process, policy and and restricing local managers and staff in what they can do. I just pray for the day when any company, especially airlines really do what they say they do in the company clap trap marketing.

First off don't call it a fing HINDU meal... call it what it is... Non Veg, w/o Beef meal, or BEEF meal. Or how about a simple VEG meal... its ###ed to call it a HINDU meal... How do you assume that if a person boraded is brown you serve him the fing HINDU meal by default? It's stupid... felt like slapping the dumb stewardess with hair died blond and trying to fake an accent... who replied with a stupid answer she was tought to blurt out when asked about any religious meal! Never flying that stupid airlines again.

You go MNG GIRL i completely agree with you could these people ask for anything more...if you dont request your special meal more than 48HOURS before your departure it cannot be GUARANTEED...do you understand that the logistics of catering is more difficult than I WANT!

in future if your needs are so STRICT i suggest you take your own food as it is an aircraft and sometimes because your not the only person on board things dont always go right.

i suggest a different airline in future

All of you Indians complain about anything and everything. You expect everything to be provided for you. If you buy a ticket on the same day, u think catering will magically come up with ur request? U have the most unimaginable requests. Do you think emirates airlines have a supermarket on board?

Emirates discourteous & poor service

Hi, I have just returned back from my trip to London on Emirates, I am not surprised to read about all the complaints this World Class Carrier is attracting!
For me, I have a few complaints as follows:
1) I checked in online at Emirates branch office in Abu Dhabi, about 5-6 hrs before my flight EK 005 from Dubai on Wednesday 30th July. my first "gripe" is that they have a facility for check-in, which then requires you to print the confirmation of your checking-in. This very large facility unfortunately do not provide a printer for printing such a document!
2) Although when I checked -in, the confirmation was processed along with an option to change your allocated seating. On seeing that the seat was shown as being directly next to one of the exit points, i accepted it, as it provided a lot of leg room. My problem came when on boarding the plane, I was asked to sit in the row behind the seat next to the exit point. Obviously the layout of the plane they use while checking-in is not to be trusted!.
3) My wife and 5 kids had already flown with Emirates about 2 weeks ago and they had a problem that the "kids meal" she requested when booking her flight were not arranged!
4) On arriving in London, my wife requested a change of return date for my eldest daughter, she was told on the phone that this was done - no complaint! But a week later when my wife in London requested that I (father) be seated next to my 4 kids on the return journey which we had on the same flight, she was surprised to hear that all of the kids flights had been changed as per my eldest daughter's flight - complaint!
5) On the flight back with my kids on 3 August via EK 033 from London, the air crew were extremely uncaring and completely robotic in their dealings with the passengers. At one time though, after being delayed nearly 1 hour due to a passenger not showing up at boarding time, one of the HOSTESS's a chinese lady while following procedures to identify all hand luggage, broke out in a rant and rave that no one was claiming a bag which had been stowed away!
6) After boarding the plane and sitting for over one hour, my youngest (9 year old ) daughter was feeling very hungry, I told her to go to the galley and ask for some snacks. She went back and spoke to some staff who sent her back that food will be served soon ( we had not even taken off at this time!) After almost 45 minutes after we took, my girl again said she was feeling hungry, I asked her to stop the "LADY" and ask her again, again the answer was we are about to serve food soon. 10 minutes later, the drinks tolley was wheeled to the front and after half an hour had still not reached us at the back of the plane! On seeing that my daughter was so hungry, I went to the galley behind our seats where the crew were chatting away and asked for a snack for my daughter who had asked for the same over one and half hours ago. One air steward responded that the food will be served soon, when I told her that we have been told this for so long! then replied "well does she want dinner or not?" I replied that yes but in the mean time, pls give her a snack ( I was very annolyed by this time!). He then handed me two (small) packets of salty biscuits!.
7) Eventually the food was served to us, only to be told that although the menu had two options for the main course, unfortuanately only on option was now available! ( what was the point of providing menus?)

Anyway, this complaints list may grow further since, my wife and daughter are yet to travel back to Dubai (on separate flights) and lets see what happens then...

S.K. Hassan

8) During the course of the flight, I saw a stewardess (accidentally) slap a small girl ( maybe 10 years old) in the face and she merely said "sorry" and then carried on with her work! Then at one, time as I was sitting in an aisle seat, one of the stewardesses ( same Chinese looking lady) jabbed me with a food tray on her way past.
