How responsive is Dairy Queen's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Dairy Queen handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Dairy Queen and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Dairy Queen heath blizzard

I live in Noblesville Indiana, I order a large heath blizzard at the DQ on 5625 Pebble Village Ln, Noblesville, IN 46062, when I pay for Heath, specially a large and get tiny tiny pieces of heath, it is just embarrassing, I did not order and want to pay for just plain ice cream, but that is exactly what I got, needless to say I will not be going back.

Dairy Queen invermere, british columbia, canada dq location

Hello,

RE: Dairy Queen - Invermere, British Columbia, Canada

The Dairy Queen located in Invermere, British Columbia has the worst service, highest prices and terrible food.

I have been over charged by them, have received food that should have never left the kitchen (i.e. hair in food, horrible presentation or spoiled) and have also received terrible service. Their employees cannot speak fluent English which results in incorrect orders and being charged for items you never ordered in the first place. When this happens, you are argued with by the employee and do not receive a refund or an apology for being charged for food you never ordered or being over charged.

They charge extra for each and every sauce that comes with a meal, their fries are never fresh and usually have rotten ones and their portions are extremely small. Blizards are never mixed properly, lack the ingredients and are never filled to the rim even though you have paid for an entire blizard. Their burgers are usually paper thin, burnt or have taste as if they have been sitting for a week. Their vegetables they serve on the burgers and wraps are never fresh and are usually slimy and close to rotten.

They have offensive music (swearing, distasteful etc.) blaring within the restaurant at all times which they run off of a personal cell phone taped above the door. When you ask them to turn it down or change the music, they roll their eyes and barley turn it down which doesn't do anything!

All in all, the Invermere DQ needs to be reviewed and have proper standards put in place. When the previous local owners were running it, there was never any issues and they prided themselves on providing excellent food and service, which is what the Invermere DQ needs now more than ever.

I have stopped eating at the Invermere DQ and do not plan on returning until their standards have increased, and this is a mutual feeling for many locals.

Thank you,

Dairy Queen customer service

The new lady in training taking my order was very rude to me. She huffed at me when I asked for juice instead of pop and said you know I wish you had told me that before in a very short rude voice. I understand training we have have all been there but no excuse to be flat out rude to people. People need to have good customer service while serving the public not talk down to them

Dairy Queen worse service

In my hometown we have two Dairy Queen's, Granted the one by the interstate is a little better. I was disgusted at the service I received today at the one in town. I went in there with my dad, we weren't greeted. There was a line of customers and the employees were ignoring them just talking. Then once we order, we were told the soda machine didn't work(which was a lie). I received our meals, my sandwich was wrong and they didn't give my dad his fries and his bread looked disgusting and his gravy was cold (he order the chicken strip basket. I proceeded to back to the front, they agreed to fix it. I watched as all the employees just lolly gagged around, they finely got to the point of correcting my order. Only once I got back to my table it was still wrong. I only order a double bacon cheeseburger plain people. First they gave me no cheese. The second time they gave me no bacon. I was too the point I went up there. I told them I wasn't waiting another five minutes for them to sit there with their balls in their hands and not fix my order. I just simply asked them to give me the bacon and I'll correct it myself. After choking my meal down, because I refused to pay for a drink and only get water. An elderly man went to the soda machine and worked. I was beyond pissed at that point. The employees lied, were rude and not even doing their jobs. I will never go back to that Dairy Queen again. I'd rather drive 30 minutes to the town over and get good service and a better meal at a different Dairy Queen.

Dairy Queen bogo of the 99 cent blizzard

Sunday, October 14, 2018
Dairy Queen
3033 Tyler Drive
Northport, AL
[protected]

My husband and I visited our local DQ, as we often do, on the date above. We were armed with a 99 cent coupon for a BOGO blizzard for 99 cents. My husband ordered a large blizzard and we told the girl at the window that we had a coupon for another for 99 cents. She told me, at that time, the BOGO was only a small. We showed her the coupon and my husband told her clearly that was not what the coupon said. She just "blew us off" and fixed what she wanted not even entertaining that she might possibly be incorrect. She turned our blizzards upside down, thrust them at us and closed the window.

As I say, we visit this DG often. Clearly, it is not the money involved . . .it is that our patronage is valued so little. In close proximity to this DG, there is Chick fil a, McDonalds, Wendy's, McAllister's and Popeyes. We could have easily chosen another restaurant. As a matter of fact, a McDonald's chocolate sundae is a delicious alternative and only $1.

Come on, DG has been around a long time. You are, clearly, doing something right. I do not believe, however, the attitude shown us yesterday is how you envisioned your customers to be treated.

Dairy Queen the dairy queen app

I went to a dairy queen rest stop in New Jersey for the first time, really excited for my first blizzard. I even downloaded the app joking my experience would make me want to become a regular. I received a digital coupon for downloading the app immediately, where I receive a small blizzard for free. Awesome! I was super stoked. My husband also received this as did many others standing in the line. When my husband went to redeem the coupon he showed it to the woman and she said because she couldn't see the code, we can't redeem the treat. There is a timer attached that can't be stopped and if you back out of the coupon you forfeit it. I don't think that is fair at all seeing as it's your app that malfunctioned. I could understand if it was just my husband and me but 5 other people in line had the same problem. This was my first DQ experience and based on the attitude of the people at that location and your faulty app that jips people out of coupons, I don't think my husband and I will be patronising your establishments again.

Dairy Queen service and product availability

I go to the Dairy Queen located on Delaware Rt 1 at Springhill North of Milford. It is in the Country Corner Store. I only live 3 1/2 miles East the store and go there a few times a week. I get upset when I drive there. only to be told that their out of one or the other flavors of ice cream. You only sell 2 flavors, Chocolate or Vanilla as the bases of all ice cream products sold. And I could understand if I got there at 9:30pm when they close at 10:pm if they ran out but that is not the case. I have been there as early as 6:15 pm and am told that they don't have one or the other flavors. I also understand that equipment fail and they may run out of stock but it is at least once, sometimes twice a week that is occurs.

Then there are the times that they don't even tell you that the flavor is out and they make the cone with the other flavor. when you tell them that is not what you ordered, They argue with you telling that is all they have and when you ask for a refund you get it but passive reluctantly.

When I have said something about them being I am told while you know that there is a Dairy Queen in town. Will if I wanted to drive the extra few miles and deal with crossing the Highway and dealing with the traffic and lights, I would have.

What I don't understand is that your franchises are a service oriented business that was built on the reputation of sell ice cream based treats and keeping the customer happy. A happy customer is a returning customer. But Companies nowadays don't seem to care about their customers satisfaction. This is a far cry from how business was conducted in my youth.

I would like to see the franchise improve their operation to meet customer expectations and customers being treated as they deserve as paying customers with professionalism, courtesy and a smile. I would like to remain a customer but if the service and behaviors continue, I will not.

Sincerly;
David W. Vinson

Dairy Queen owner

I arrived with my family the place is in maintenance. the only thing that works is to drive through it, we tell the cashier that we will take a little time our order, and after 5 minutes a guy approached arguing that if you can help us order and we say no everything is fine, with a very rude attitude tells us to hurry, says he is the owner, and just why you had 5 minutes ordering us ran from your business that does not need customers that take a long time to order, and we shout that we We were from his place almost hit my wife with 8 months of pregnancy if I could give less 5 stars. I'm going to make a complaint to the corporate

I have nothing to do with this situation in any way, however I just wanted to say that it’s extremely hard for me to imagine an owner yelling and assaulting pregnant women because someone took their time to look at the menu. I will say that I would be incredibly peeves with you too if you camped out in my drive through for 5 minutes- this preventing the restaurant from being able to serve other people. The restaurant has a right to make money and other customers deserve to be able to order and eat in a timely manner without having to wait on you to figure out what you want.

Dairy Queen chicken finger basket & a cookie sunday

I am not one to typically write a review just because I wasn't entirely happy. However, this last visit was to the point that I think you would want to hear. I waited 15 minutes & was then served fries so dry that they were hard and contained nothing on the inside. The cookie Sunday was singed badly on top and raw dough in the middle.

The chicken was as equally dry as the fries. It seemed as though I waited 15 minutes to be served over cooked old food.

Dairy Queen food was stale and awful

At lunchtime from my work I went to Dairy Queen on 75th St. in Kenosha, to get their chicken tenders with french fries and I upgraded to a blizzard rather than getting a drink or a Sundae. The way wasn't bad but I did see the cashier closing the lid to my blizzard which is unsanitary first of all. And then once I did receive my food the chicken strips/tenders were completely stale they must've made them for the lunch rush at 11 and gave them to me at 2:30. And the french fries were stale and old as well. I was able to eat the blizzard it was wonderful but I had to throw the rest of the basket out. This is not the first time that this is happened at that Dairy Queen. I just want someone to know that I will not be purchasing food from them ever again. At least you guys have ice cream because that's going to be the only thing that keeps your own business.

Dairy Queen customer service

I have visited the new Dairy Queen on 32nd St in Joplin Mo three times since it opened and had terrible two out of the three times. I have went through the drive thru every time and there is always a long delay before they even take your order. The first time I went opening week I waited awhile but the experience was overall good. The second time I substituted fries for a side salad and did not receive the salad. I let that go. Today I did not receive my change. I gave the cashier 20.40 for a 5.40 total. In my defense I usually always pay with a debit card and didn't realize it before I got back to work. I went back with my receipt and got the run around. They said they would have to count the drawer. I understood this but it took them almost 30 minutes to count it. I work atva local hospital and was on my lunch break and needed to get back. When the manager finally came with my change he was very rude. No aplogy. He almost acted like I was in the wrong. The food is delicious but I will not be eating at this establishment.

I asked for funnel cake sundae ice cream after seeing the menu, in the menu it shows big and fresh funnel cake with ice cream, but i got an ice cream which had a little bit of ice cream and dried, old, not fresh funnel cake, I paid 6 dollars for the ice cream and I was able to eat only half of it and threw the rest because of bad quality, after having the half of it I had stomach pains.

Dairy Queen didn't receive my correct order

Hi there,

I was just at a location in Hamilton, I ordered a cookie dough blizzard with skor. When I received it and began eating, I noticed there was no cookie dough in it, I went and asked the cashier about it, and he did not believe me and refused to put cookie dough in it. I am so disappointed and upset that I paid for a product I did not receive.

Dairy Queen I am complaining about blizzard cake

I ordered a blizzard cake on line and picked it up at store # 27001 last Sept 22nd. When I got there the cake was not ready and was told to come back after 20 mins. When I came back, I felt the cake was rushed through. It was not fully frozen. It's like almost melting when I got home. The icing border was different. The decoration was not same as described on line. Then I had to pay full price for it. I am very disappointed. I want a refund as the cake was not as par as what I expect it to be.

Dairy Queen manager and drive thru employee and food

The drive thru employee at milaca mn dq 09/24/2018 was kind of ditzy, my daughters grilled chicken wrap was burnt completely and we didnt get her milk with it and at the window they tried only giving us one of our blizzards eventhough the second one was already made and so i forgot to to call after I got home because I had to make my daughter a new dinner I called in today September 25th 2018 around 2:30 p.m. to talk to a manager and the manager was completely rude told me that the chicken is supposed to be grilled and I told her it was burnt and she said well the chicken is supposed to be at a certain temperature so if it's burnt that's how it was supposed to be and that maybe I should have brought it in yesterday when the problem was relevant I'm not very happy with this Dairy Queen I'm probably won't be returning to this one

Dairy Queen food/ ice cream

My boyfriend pulled forward when I wasn't done ordering so I wanted to add on another burger when we got to the window the guy said "well... we've already made the food" well that's not how it should be. If I wanted to add another burger and pay then I should be able too. And too top it off, I order a Carmel sea salt truffle blizzard and got something with peanut butter instead. I'm beyond annoyed and mad.

Dairy Queen customer service from employee when asked if they had any gluten free options.

We visited the Dairy Queen W. Capitol Ave. location in Grand Island, Nebraska-Saturday, September 22 at 5:30 PM. My daughter and I are gluten-free because of a medical condition and when I asked if there were any gluten-free options, meaning if they were willing to only serve us a hamburger or if at this location they have a dedicated gluten-free French fry oil fryer, then we would order that. She kind of sarcastically said a banana. I said, that's all you have to offer? Knowing that in other locations the ice cream is OK also. She said, yes a banana is about all we can offer because that should be gluten-free. When I asked if she would be willing to just fry hamburger and put it in a basket she said, well yes, but most people won't eat it without a bun. And I said unless your gluten-free. I said then that would be a gluten-free option that you offer. I was pretty offended by the rudeness of her remarks and her attitude. All of the employees need to have more training in customer service and more training in dealing with some food allergies. I don't need to be ridiculed for a medical condition when I am trying to spend money at your restaurant. I would appreciate a comment back and would like to know what was done about the situation. Dairy Queen butterfinger blizzard

I ordered a butterfinger blizzard and it was the absolute worse blizzard ever. It was pretty much just vanilla ice cream with very little butterfinger in it. I ordered a medium wand stood over the trash can and dig through the entire blizzard until it was basically empty with very little butterfinger inclusions included. Worse food service ever. Very disappointed.

Dairy Queen overcharge on tax and was not knowledgeable about products

Promotional ad. 2 cones for 2.00. Tax in the states of Tennessee in 10 cents on the dollar. The tax should have been .29 cents. Charged 2.29 for the cone and the tax was .51. If it's advertised 2 for 2.00. Why was I charged 2.29 plus tax? I got an extremely uninformed answer by someone who sounded 12 and she stammered and stuttered the whole time trying to explain. She said it was corporate "rules". Pretty sure I shouldn't be taxed on a product that was free.

Dairy Queen lack of professionalism in management

To whom it may concern,
An incident that happened today really disturbed me. This incident happened at Dairy Queen on Beltline Road in Decatur, Al. on 9/18/18. One of their managers named Crystal Smiley, made a comment to a 15 yr. old child. First of all the child works longer than allowed... after 9pm on week days. The child also has worked 6 days at a time, before getting a day off. However, the child has not complained. The childs parent talked to someone about her childs hours before this incident. Later Crystal, said to the child, she didnt know why the child's parent wants to give him less hours, b/c it's not like the child is an A/B student anyway (paraphrashed).A person in leadership should NEVER make statements like that to anyone's child! I've heard it mentioned that Crystal has had complaints, whether they were reported or not I'm not sure. However, something needs to be done about her. We are the customers, we bring in the money. Treat our children as if they were your own, or how you would want your children treated. Don't say discouraging things to our youth. As adults, we should be encouraging them!
