Honda Financial Services Extreme scare tactics, abusive collection procedures

I own a 2006 Honda which only has 11 months remaining on the contract. I have always made my payments in a timely manner. I have recently fallen onto hard times as many other Americans trying to survive in this economy and my payment is late. I was EXTREMELY verbally abused, hung up on TWICE, and threatened today by not one but TWO ruthless collection agents in this company. I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor despite numerous attempts. I FINALLY was transferred to a team lead who rasied her voice and told me "I am just laying the ground rules for you, you WILL NOT question me and I am doing the talking" I am so furious and I do not know what to do! She would not give me an address or name to contact the head of the department. They told me they were coming to get my car THIS WEEKEND! They told me there are no repossession laws in Georgia. My car payment is currently 47 days late. I was trying to explain my circumstances and make arrangements with them and this is how I am treated?! Can anyone help me? Thank you, Stephanie Posey

JimBoBob, I was fortunate enough to come across an old file in my safe containing a name and number of a supervisor who helped me with a technical issue on my warranty in 2007. My car is not being reposesssed. The supervisor was mortified that I was spoken to in that manner and was apologetic. Also gave me an address to write directly to the supervisor of the collection agent I spoke with and said he would speak with her himself. Additionally, there are laws to protect consumers in the state of Georgia like me, my neighbor and the guy down the street. I joined this site looking for someone with a similar experience that could offer their perspective, not someone who enjoys being a smart ### as you obviously do. Personally, I think you should take a course in etiquette.

Honda Financial Services late charges

I leased a 2008 Honda and have made payments on time every month. Starting in January of 2009 they stopped sending me mail payments and started emailing me statements. I figured leases are always the same amount so I paid the bill regularly the same amoutn. Unbeknownst to me, they were charging me a $22 late fee each and every month for 18 months! I called when I discovered the problem and they refused to make any allowance that I had paid in good faith for 18 months never missing a payment and that they continued to charge the same $22 for each and every month after the month I was late. I ended up owning $393 in late charges plus an extra payment. I adjusted how I was to get my mail back to paper. They had sent me other mail items but never anything about these late charges. I think it's a total ripoff and am glad I found it before I went to turn the car in. I'll never lease another Honda or buy one for that matter. The car is great but the financial services arm are really gougers. Who protects the consumer from these people?

Bitter about being repo'd? Where did you get that from? That's what happens when you fall sixty days past due. Furthermore I live in a right to redeem state, so I'm thankful for my friends and family and my 401k contributions that allowed me to catch up on my payments. Of course I looked at my statements, that's why I was aware of the late fee and paid it along with my regular payment, the following month ON TIME! and they did not allocate the late fee correctly. I'm looking for no one's sympathy but someone made a serious mistake in 2009 and it took them a year to correct it. Instead of calling me to tell me that I was past due through no fault of my own, they should have called and said "we made an error on your account and we're working to fix it". That I can live with but to be totally blindsided is one thing. I'm grateful that my financial situation has improved and I have the extra cash on hand to bring the account current. And yes, the person who allocated the payment incorrectly in 2009 should be reprimanded and or retrained. At any rate, I wrote the customer service reps a thank you letter for assisting me because unlike yourself they realized an error was made and they have taken the steps to correct the problem. Happy Thanksgiving to whoever you are and hopefully you can find some peace in your life, instead of spewing hate and negativity on the complaint boards.

Sounds like somebody is bitter about being repoed, it also sounds like you should not have gotten your car back. You said you applied an extra $5.00 here or there-did you look at the statement ever to see if you were paying the correct amount? Or an even more novel idea, consider paying it on time? Most extra $ you send to companies will be applied to your payments first and other outstaanding fees second. It also sounds like somebody did make an ERROR at Honda Finacial Services and they tried to correct the situation. Fire the person? WOW! All you people are on here looking for sympathy because of hard times, but you want to fire somebody for what sounds like a genuine mistake? That sounds like a great decision, lets add more people to the unemployment lines!

I don't know who you are but apparently you've never had to deal with Honda Financial Services. They misapply payments and screw up paperwork. They repo'd my car in August of 2009, I paid the past due payments and the repo fee and got my car back. Somehow, they forgot to invoice me for September 2009 or misapplied the repo fee and applied it towards the September payment. Depending on who I talk to I get conflicting stories, so I'm not sure what to make of it. Regardless, after the repo I have been careful to pay the account on time, maybe incurring a $5 late fee here and there but never late more than 10 days. I reviewed my account and noticed that when I added an extra $5 to my payment they were applying it towards interest and payments ONLY and the late fees would continue to be outstanding. I asked them to review my account and apply my payments correctly, needless to say they made a complete mess of that. Then I get a phone call saying my October 2010 payment is past due. Much to my dismay the representative explained that I was never invoiced for the September 2009 payment and that they would grant me an extension so the account would be current. How nice of them to grant me an extension after they failed to invoice me. There accounting practices are awful and I wouldn't trust anything they say. FYI, this is my second car financed with Honda and prior to my divorce I had no problems meeting my financial obligations. I fail to see how they forgot to invoice me, misapplied the repo fee and found the error over a year later. In my opinion they should write off the payment or fire the person who misapplied the payment or replace the accounting system that failed to generate the invoice. Imagine if you received a bill a year later that had 2009 charges due to someone elses error. I wonder what other tricks they have up their sleeves. I don't trust them and I will NEVER finance with them again.

Wait a second. You have to request not recieve paper stements. Why did you not look at the online statements they sent you to see you were paying late? All states allow a grace peroid, so you must have paid VERY late. They cannot by law charge a late fee if you are NOT late, so you DID pay late every month and it is Honda Financial Services fault? Every single negative post I see on here has one common demonitor-nobody is accountable for their actions. IF you paid late with ANY financial institution or company for 18 months you would be charged a late fee. Your home mortage or rent, credit cards, phone bill, insurance, ANYTHING! How is this their fault? Yes, you paid every month, but LATE. It would be different if you did it once, realized that you paid late and then called them and they were unwilling to work with you. But you did it 18 times. Be accountable for your actions.

Honda Financial Services Rip off palace

Do not take your vehicle to Bowie Honda for repair unless you have a warranty. The service department, while friendly and professional, will smile in your face and rip you off concurrently.

My "check engine" light was on and I took 2006 Honda Element to determine the problem. In the end, I ended up paying about $500 ($497.17) for parts and service that should have been signifcantly less.

Charge included $99.95 for a 'diagnosis' and $25.10 for 'shop supplies for repair order'(aka the Bowie Honda big screw). Shall I mention the exorbitant mark-up for labor? They were in such a rush to stick it to me that they forgot to provide 'courtesy wash' even though invoice said they did. Can you say: "never again!?" I can. Ken Dixon Honda in Charles County is more reputable.

Honda Financial Services Dishonest crooks

Me and my wife traded in our 2007 Honda for a 2010 Nissan at Coral Springs Auto Mall in Florida. We had 6 months left on our honda lease so we paid it early. We gave the car back to the dealer, where we leased it. They told us, dont worry, we will take care of everything. That was on March 28, 2010. I kept getting bills from honda so i called. Honda told me that the dealer has not called to turn vehicle in, this was on June 9th. I call dealer to find out whats up. They say, Dont Worry, we will take care of it.

3 weeks later i get a $1400 bill in the mail with no description. I call honda and they tell me the oneplus seat was missing, the mini seat in second row on a odyssey. It was, my wife took it out the day we leased it. We forgot to put it back in when we turned it. I told them i had it and that i would drop it off at dealer. I was told that i could not, they had to find out where the car was and that they would call me back. Ya right, i had to call back to find out that they would not take the seat back and i owe $1400. I fought with them for a week with no results. Finally i got the inspection report in the mail. The ### who inspected it wrote down the wrong seat. So i am being charged for the left center seat, not the oneplus seat. Only a $800 difference in cost. I will be on the phone with them in the am. Lets see what they have to say. They are the rudest and most unprofessional people i have ever dealt with. If it comes to it, i may have to sue them. DO not buy a Honda, and do not buy a car from Coral Springs Auto Mall. The dealer refuses to help and told me to not call again after i bought 2 cars from them.

Good luck to you all. I will be looking for a class action lawyer to file a major suit against them when this is over.:

Honda Financial Services outrageous finance charges

We are at the end of the lease of our 2006 Honda Odyssey, so I dug out our paperwork to find out some specifics on the terms.

Running the numbers and talking to the dealer, I found out we were charged a 40% interest rate, Honda calls it a Rental Charge. This amounted to being overcharged over $5000 compared to an auto loan from Citi-Financial I had received a year earlier at a 10% rate, also on a new Honda.

I wrote Honda a complaint letter and then talked to 2 representatives and they didn't want to do anything to make our deal "right." This was my 3rd new Honda either leased or purchased, and I told them it was my last. They didn't seem to care.

I realize that a contract is a contract, but I would think that the financial arm of Honda would treat their customers better and would have the integrity not to charge their customers a 40% interest rate.

Honda made a deal with me on a new car, then the finance manager wants to charge me a special finance fee of $1, 800 on top of the interest. I even had a trade in worth $8, 000 and the car I wanted was only $22, 700. That's not even legal for them to make up some extra charge.

One more thing...you said you talked to the dealer? The dealer is the one who writes up the contract and submits it to Honda Finance. All they do is approve or deny it based on what was submitted to them. So, if you are upset, your issue is with the dealership not HFS.

You compaint is ridiculous. You are upset FOUR years after the beginning of the contract? Really? You did not realize what you were paying every month when you got your statement? BTW, rent charge and iterest are NOT the same thing. Rent charge is a fixed amount you pay every month and does not fluctuate, similar to "renting" a car-an interest rate stays the same but the amount you pay monthly changes depending on the balance owed. If you were paying a FORTY % interest rate, you would be paying alot more than $5, 000 over the course of a loan.

Honda Financial Services Bad experience

I had the unfortunate experience of having my mother's car towed because it was two months behind in payment. After diligently calling to see what can be done, they told me, obviously, that a POA was needed so one was sent. Then they told me that the POA was invalid because of the date. After arguing that they should check with the Clerk's Office of its validity, they then required that my mother send in her license. Even after all this was done, Team Leader Tim and his goons, Debbie and Marcy, refused to help. They now do not even pick up my calls and cuts me off if I ask how I proceed. I even got a translator for my mother so they could speak to her and even that didn't help...

How am I supposed to get the car back? And I also didn't know that Honda Finance was supposed to collect on behalf of NYC Finance (for parking tickets.) They're actually demanding that I pay $1195 in tickets which are ALL pending.

I really do not know how I'm supposed to get this car back when NO ONE will help. Is there anyone else out there?

Honda Financial Services Rude & Arrogant Customer Service

I have been a loyal Honda customer for many years but after dealing with Honda Financial over the phone recently I am done with Honda. I mailed a payment on time in December 2009 and later Honda Financial started calling my place of employment leaving messages for me. My wife contacted them and the representative said they never received the payment. My wife arranged for a bank draft to make that payment assuming it was "lost in the mail". When we received our February bank statment we noticed that the check dated in December had been cashed by Honda. She called them to try and straighten the matter out and they would not give her any information over the phone without my approval. I found it odd that she was allowed to have my acccount drafted over the phone for the "missing payment" yet they wouldnt even talk to her about the account. I called them in hopes of getting the matter resolved but the lady on the phone wouldnt admit that a mistaked had been made and refused to credit my account for the amount I had overpaid. All I wanted was to have those funds applied to my next months payment but couldnt get her to understand that. She implied that it was our fault for not putting a "stop-payment on the check that was "lost in the mail". After 35 minutes of arguing I gave up and settled for nothing. Lesson learned.

I will NEVER buy another HONDA product as long as I live. I have NEVER missed or even been late on a single payment anywhere and HONDA treats me like a CRIMINAL.

worst customer service ever! We've been late one time and asked for a deferment and was told no. The only time they'll ever give you a deferment is if and i quote " you have a death in the family". What kind of customer service is this. I'm soo tired of dealing with these rude people. BEWARE if you get someone named Karen or Chris on the phone. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they told me, "what's the difference if i speak with a supervisor, the answer is still no"...

Honda Financial Services Rude, dishonest, unprofessional finance team

I suspected the deal was shady when the finance manager, Carlos, refused to let me see the numbers on paper. He fiddle *** around with paperwork trying to distract me. When I did see the contract I saw the price of the vehicle had actually increased AFTER my down payment and friends/family discount had been applied. I'm not sure how a $19, 900 SUV after a 2K down payment ends up being $20, 500 BEFORE the finance charges! Then he tried to sell me GAP insurance, stating the finance co. requires it, which I refused. I was told I had to have the 100K mile warranty as well or the finance co. would turn us down. I was also told it costs Suntrup 2 grand to "sell" this loan to us and they can't come down on the price of the SUV or they would lose money. So that "fee" is passed on to us, the customer.

A few days later the finance co. calls me to verify our address and income info. I asked the rep about this so called 2 grand fee they supposedly charged Suntrup to sell us this loan. She said the finance manager was NOT supposed to tell us that and they could no longer finance our loan. I also asked if they required us to purchase the 100K extended warranty and she said absolutely not. She said she was going to call the finance manager immediately to terminate our contract.

When talked to the salesman and finance manager that day they said for me to bring the SUV back immediately. I said that’s fine and asked about the 2 grand we put down on it. They said they'd send it to me in the mail. Umm... I'm supposed to trust these liars to get mymoney back to me after the lies I was just told? GREAT. My husband then called the finance manager later that day and told them they will get their car back when we get our money back. The car is in the garage safe and when they get our 2 grand check ready for us we'd be more than happy to give the car back. The finance manager told my husband he was calling the police on us and hung up on my husband! Now THATS customer service.

Then following day I drove the car to the dealership and returned it. I asked the salesman for our check and he said they don't cut checks there and I'd get it in the mail in a week. I said that's not good enough because I need ourmoney back so we can find another vehicle. He refused to budge so I asked for the accounting dept. He said they didn’t have one. He referred me to BJ in the finance dept. I started to ask BJ if there was any way he could do me a huge favor and work on getting the check to me that day and before I could even open my mouth he began to tell me in a very loud, ignorant matter "You heard what the salesman said, we don't deal with checks here. I'll call the office later and request it." I said I really need my check and I can't wait a week. He replied in an even nastier tone "Look, you are getting your check next week and that’s it" At that point I interrupted him by asking him who in the F he was talking to like that. He stated loudly "You are lucky you have a relative working here or your butt woulda been outta here a long time ago!" I was shocked and asked to speak to his supervisor immediately. He said his supervisor wasCarlos who is the one who gave us this bogus deal to start with! I asked to speak with Carlos's manager. He brought out Jeremy to speak to me. Jeremy was way more concerned with his new cell phone than to speaking to me. I told him I really needed my down payment that day. He said "ok no prob I'll see what I can do." I said I appreciate it because I really need to work on getting another car fast. To this Jeremy replied "Well you had a car" Meaning the car they tried to screw me over with. I said yes but I was lied to and the finance co. refused the loan. At that point Carlos and Jeremy BOTH became very agitated and said "we don’t lie to our customers" and turned and walked away from me. I said hey, we are still talking here.Carlos told me to leave immediately or they were calling the police on me. So at that point I was sure to be extra loud when I MF'ed them on my way out the door.

I was kicked out of the dealership that I have bought 2 cars from in the past, had all my maintenance done and referred many friends to. That’scustomer service at Suntrup.

To date I have NOT received my check yet. I'm giving it another week then filing a complaint with the prosecuting attorney's office.

Save yourself the headache and money and go some where else. You can't even get a good deal here when you have family working for this place.

Honda Financial Services honda financial services show no mercy

Right now the economy is doing very bad. It's tough to find a good job, and than many of us are losing hours in our jobs. My income has decreased by almost 30% since last year. But, unfortunately, I still have to pay Honda $540 a month and my auto insurance $300 a month. Thats more than $800 a month for a 2017 Honda Coupe!

Even worse, the resale value of this car has dropped immensely due to the bad economy, who will give me $25, 000 (what I owe) for this car right now?

The best I will get is probably around $14, 000, that means I will probably owe more than $10, 000 to Honda. Apart from this, due to my recent income decrease at my job (which is slowing due to the recession) few banks want to refinance, as my income has decreased, they see it as a risk.

They charged me 18% interest rate! yet, inspite of earning only about $1400 a month right now, I'm still paying Honda my obligations. I'm also paying $400 a month in rent, which means I'm barely getting by. I only eat 2 meals a day, I just can't afford to eat 3 times anymore

Honda Financial Services who very little mercy. I told them about my situation, yet they really don't care about the current economic recession. Home owners with high interest high payments loans are getting breaks, but what about those of us who are car owners with high interest high payment loans?

why the double standards? If the US government doesnt care to help people like me, and Honda doesnt care, who will help me?

Muhattma Ghandi once said. "if fine clothes provokes poverty, burn it"

LIsten to Ghandi! He's giving us another option! Thats another option you guys have. "if a fine car provokes poverty, return it!"

declare bankruptcy---and get the loan canceled out (us taxpayers will wind up fitting the bill---but dont feel bad, us taxpayer money has already helped lehman, bank of america, wamu, and hundred of other "fat cats")

and start a new life!

I think I may have no choice. In the near future, if I lose my job, I will have a simple choice, continue to make the "fat cat" rich, or put food on the table!

I'm going to have to make a tough choice!

I guess one this is for sure, I don't need to diet because I will lose weight very soon! LOL!

I leased a Honda Accord from 2017 to 2017. I returned the vehicle in 2017 and Honda Financial Services continues to send me bills for excise taxes! So I have been paying excise taxes on 2 vehicles from 2017 to present! I have called Honda and they are not helpful in any way, shape, or form. They are rude and keep trying to justify why I am still paying taxes on a vehicle I have not had in my possession since May of 2017 - 2 years ago. I WILL NEVER LEASE OR BUY ANY HONDA PRODUCT EVER AGAIN!

I like how you say that they don't care about the current economic situation... It sounds like you were trying to refi your auto loan. They cannot do this directly due to the type of banking license they have. They are an INdirect lender, which means they cannot make a contract directly with an individual. It has to go thru a dealer. Did you try a direct lender such as a regular bank or credit union? As far as your interest rate, it is high due to the fact that you either have poor credit or not enough credit to be established. As far as your statement about home owners getting breaks, that is only because the government is assisting with that. Not the banks... do some research before you stick your foot in your mouth!

Had a 36 Month lease on 2017 Honda Ridgeline from April 2017 through April 2017. I wanted to purchase the vehicle from them so I called and asked how much I owed. They refered me to the dealer who wanted to charge me an additional $499 "documentation fee" that they said was required by law. I had already paid a $499 "documentation fee" when I had initially leased the vehicle. The law states (in North Carolina) that they have the right to charge a documentation fee", but they also have the right to waive it. I spoke with a sales rep, a sales manager, and the accounting manager before they refered me back to Honda American Finance. They must have the ability to have Honda America Finance change a prompt on their phone line, because the next time I called there was a pay-off option on the menu. I purchased the vehicle using a loan from USAA in April 2017 and in August 2017 they billed me $119 for a fourth year of property taxes. I disputed the charge with them, but the $119 charge shows up on my credit report.

Moral #1: The documentation fee when you lease or purchase a vehicle is negotiable in most states.

Moral #2: Never finance through Honda Financial Services.

Moral #3: Never lease a vehicle.

Honda Financial Services impossible to deal with.

We purchased a Honda Fit Sport early this summer from Honda Mission Valley in San Diego. We love the car and the Dealership was a pleasure to deal with. We have excellent credit (in the 800's) and are never late on payments and Honda Finance Department knows that but still treats us like criminals. For an unknown reason their bank keeps kicking back our online payments and they won't talk to us to help us figure out why. We didn't see it at first and became delinquent 25 days so our calls are automatically transferred to the Delinquent Department and both my husband and I have never been treated with surprising rudeness. They are impossible to deal with, won't listen and treat us like we are lying. I am sure in these times they have to deal with a lot of that but it would be easy for them to very quickly see this is not the case. We've been to our bank and also redone the page a few times to assure everything is the same as the number and address Honda Financial Services gave us and they are. In a two minute call they should be able to identify the issue. Their bank gives us no reason for the kick back which happens every month and we end up resorting to paying by phone. This last time we mailed a double payment by mail and it's been a week and still isn't showing it's paid, so we are back with the Delinquent Department again. Yesterday they refused to talk to me until I paid by phone and they wanted me to cancel the double check payment I sent them a week ago! They wouldn't even check with their own processing department to see if they had the payment... wouldn't listen to me and the treatment was like a mean school teacher shaking her finger at a child. At the time I was in the office of our Dealerships Finance Director. I watched him make at least 20 calls to try and straighten it out and he couldn't get anyone on the line to help him either and he witnessed the poor treatment they gave me. It doesn't appear he is willing or has the power to fix it but we will see. We are both competent capable people, in fact my husband is an effective Mitigation and Mediation Manager and he couldn't get anywhere either. It is going into the sixth month of trying to resolve what should be a minor issue and we are so frustrated we are going to go to our credit union and pay it off early so we don't have to deal with Honda Financial Services because we don't know what else we can do. We are really trying and they are impossible.

I have been with Honda for 5 years now, had a care returned it and got another lease. late last year for the first time I was more than 30 days late on my payment due to the fact I lost my mother and I had to pay for her funeral. I explain this to Honda and I paid them within 40 days late, they still reported me to the Credit Bureau. I graduated college not too long ago and now I'm trying to purchase a home, this negative remark on my Credit looks bad, I tried talking to them but they refused to take it off or do anything about it. All I'm saying is show some compassion to your loyal customer, needless to say, this will be my last Honda purchase. I've learned from this experience.

Right now the economy is doing very bad. It's tough to find a good job, and than many of us are losing hours in our jobs. My income has decreased by almost 30% since last year. But, unfortunately, I still have to pay Honda $540 a month and my auto insurance $300 a month. Thats more than $800 a month for the damn car!

yet, inspite of earning only about $1400 a month right now, I'm still paying Honda my obligations. I'm also paying $400 a month in rent, which means I'm barely getting by. I only eat 2 meals a day, I just can't afford to eat 3 times anymore

Honda Financial Services The lien holder lost my car's title

I purchased a 2005 Honda Civic in 2005 & financed it through Honda Financial Services. OIn 2007, they contacted me and told me they did not have the title to the vehicle and thought it might have been mailed to me in error. I told them I had no received the title from DMV or Honda Financial services. They sent me an application to apply for a duplicate title, I signed and returned the paperwork. I recently paid off the loan and called to find out when I would receive the title. They don't have the title. They think it will take 6 weeks to obtain the title from DMV. I wanted to sell the car by the end of the year but I can not without the title. The title to my car has been mishandled and no one will accept responsibility or help me. I do not trust them to follow through.

Honda Financial Services vehicle service contract cancellation

I canceled my vehicle service contract in May 2009 and it is September 2009. I have not yet got my refund back.

Count down of the reasons given so far:

#10. Honda of Kirkland says that the check is with Honda Financing Services who is the lien owner. They will have send it back saying that they don't have any interest on this car/ loan anymore.

#9. Honda Financial Services sends the check to Honda of Kirkland. Honda of Kirland says that it mailed the check but it was returned.

#8. Honda of Kirkland: Hard to catch the finance guy since he is either in a meeting/ attending to clients or on a vacation. After attempting so many times, I got hold of the guy who hardly turns up to work. He advices,
"Why don't you arrange for someone to pick it up? You only will have to send a fax authorizing the payment. After sending the fax, we called them back to schedule a day for pickup. "
When my friend called to pick it up, they said the check has been take care and it has been mailed.

#7. The check is sent back to Honda Financial Services

#6. If you can give us your Canadian address, we can mail you the check.

#5. We cannot mail the check to Canada. You will need to schedule a fedex pickup.

#4. We cannot handover the personal check to fedex. Nor can we allow you to schedule a pickup.

#3. My manager Monica is on leave. I don't know about the status of your check.

#2. Monica is on phone.

#1. Are you from Arizona? Your address is mentioned incorrectly in our records.

This hassle is still going on.

Honda Financial Services account rep kemeesha

I had five payments left on my car when I lost my job. My so-called Honda account rep Kemeesha kept telling me to clean out the car because it was going to get towed. She even told me that she was going to come get it herself! The funny thing was that when I called Honda (and avoided her), her coworkers told me that the car was not going to get towed. I was still making payments (albeit late and not enough), and it wasn't worth it for them to tow the car. With that information, every time Kemeesha called me, I laughed and told her to come get the car. The car is now paid off and mine. Kemeesha, go f--- yourself!

When I think of Honda and American Honda, I think of that piggy song by John Lennon:
.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXdKlpBOvs0&feature=related
.
Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.
.
Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.
.
In their ties with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.
.
Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.

On May 13th, 2011 - American Honda Financial Corporation repossessed my company cars, after only be a little over 30 days late. This was done even though I had bought Honda’s in bulk every 4-5 years for 25 years. You see, I had entered a complaint on someone named “Aaron” a month before, because he was potentially irregular and abusive, while he was threatening to take my cars, but after only being a few days late. Therefore, I feel that Aaron did this to me as a part of personal vendetta. Then Aaron would not let me pay the past due to get my cars back out, in which my company depended on these cars. Now I may lose my company because of potentially irregular and abusive collection method.

I had this same experience with a Honda Rep named Carlo (wouldn't give his last name) I was forty days late due to furloughs at my job asked him for a five day extension to get current. He told me to leave the car out in front of my house and he would have it picked up. well they didn't pick up the car I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me his supervisor was in a meeting when i asked to be connected to the supervisor, s voice mail I was told that he (Carlo) was the only person i would be talking to. I have looked on Honda's web site and there is no complaint resolution or ombudsman of any kind available to the consumer. So after four consecutive Honda lease's and one Honda motorcycle purchase I can say with all certainty that this is my last Honda purchase If they will not here my words then they will not see my wallet.

The only good thing about a bad economy it that you really see what company's mean by valued customer for life.

I paid over $15, 000 for my honda but the total cost was $35, 000 which was a total rip off the honda that i was purchasing was only about $10, 000 to $15, ooo the recession hit this year and so i wasnt getting the hours i was normally getting . You would think Honda would've be sympathetic to my situation as i was laid off for 1 month, however they wasnt and repoed my car ...$15, 000 ive spent and i dont have a hub cap or nothing to show for it ...where is the justice!

Carolina, why don't you file a complaint against this company with the BBB? I wish you would! I have had a horrible experience with them too! At the least perhaps other consumers will be warned against getting involved with them!

Honda Financial Services do not apply principal payments

Honda financial makes it a pain to make principal payment. Their website does not allow for making principal payments, not does the website diplay anywhere the address where to mail principal payments. One has to be on the phone each and every time to have the payment reapplied to principle. Even when I sent the payment to the separate address they provide on teh phone for principal payment, my payment ( with the memo :PRINCIPAL ONLY) STILL got applied to both interest and principla. I am not sure WHY they think anyone would make additional payments if it does not reduce the interest. At any rate one has to spend 30 minutes on the phone each time when making a principal payment to get it applied (reapplied) correctly. It is a joke.

Reading these comments in embarassing. I feel embarrased FOR them. First off, to the poster who has 18% interest, maybe you should have read the contact you signed that said 18% INTEREST. First [censor]. Second, to the person who is late on their payments, you cant just pay payments towards your principal payment, you have to complete the minimum amount of payment through the standard payment. THEN you can also add more money towards your principal. Its says it right on the site. Honda finance is not a bad lender, its just people are stupid and dont read, dont ask what they're signing, and dont use common sense. Hell I'm only 21 years old, and I asked my dealer exactly what EVERYTHING on my contact meant, to make sure I knew what I was getting into. Use common sense people, it will get you pretty far in life.

WOW, somebody sounds bitter because they have poor credit and signed a loan at 18 percent. Why did you sign a contract for that much of a monthly payment if you cld not afford it? Oh, I know, it is HFS's fault! You thought you were ENTITLED to a new car and that is the exact reason the country is in the state it is in now! You are a ### and all of your idiotic comments cement that fact. Please keep posting, you make it easier for peolple to understand why the state of the current economy is the way it is. And, btw, Honda is a VERY conservative company. They cut wages, raises and bonuses' last year-please get your facts straight before you post.

540$ a month car payment? And they only apply interest on extra payments? They charge 18% interest on there loans! THATS CRIMINAL! THATS ABUSIVE!

Honda Financial Services are SONS OF ###. I hope HONDA goes to bankruptcy in the future, even though right now they are sitting pretty, few dealers are immune to the coming economic collapse.

Hopefully these crooked, dishonest greedy ### will get what they deserve. They are no different than all the other lying snake oil salesmen who trick people into signing deceptive contracts that make you there economic "slave" for 6 years. This is modern day slavery

If I where you I would stop paying the payments, drive the car as long as you can (usually a repo takes up to 3 months) and just buy a used car on craigslist (u can find a good used car for around $3000)

Than after this, just declare for bankruptcy and let the government clean up the mess. Honda wont be able to touch you once you delcare for bankruptcy. If more Americans stop paying these greedy ### there loans (just like the mortgage mess) more of them will feel the heat, and maybe the government will start helping Americans with car payments just like they are helping Americans with mortgages they cant pay.

Than dont feel sorry for Honda, those greedy ### deserve to lose there jobs and I hope every single one of those Honda Financial people go to hell where they belong

I discovered how the real way Honda Financial Services work when I decided to make a payment to go towards Prinicpal only by the internet. After two payments that were specifically for principal only, I get a statement that says I am behind in payments and have a late fee. Meanwhile, they accepted my payments and the statement even says thank you for the payments. WHAT A SCREWED UP LENDER! I AM SO FURIOUS! THEY ARE UP OVER 28% YEAR AFTER YEAR BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW SCREWED UP THEY ARE LIKE ME!

DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE GETS A LOAN BY HONDA FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Honda Financial Services Terrible experience

For several months, I was consistently late on my payments. I spoke with a rep at Honda Finance who told me as long as I made payment before 49 days past due, I would be okay. My payments are due on the 21st of each month. I make payments same time each month, usually 45 days past due. I made July 21 payment on 9/04/08.

Payment was drafted. My Honda Accord was repossessed (early AM hours) on 9/10/08, when my August 21 payment was 18 days past due. I called rep and was told payment was not "accepted" due to account status. Would not accept August and September payments, wanted full balance $10, 179 by 9/25/08. Should I file bankruptcy? Have invested $15000 in the care with payments.

Honda Financial Services crooks

I purchased a car about 2 years ago, and at that time, I was working at a Honda dealership. I had to leave my position because my elderly mother was hospitalized, and I was one payment behind. I attempted to contact them about it and make arrangements to get caught up, but I was told I needed to call two weeks ahead of when my payment is due to arrange that. I tried to get caught up, but never did. I eventually called them and told them to just come get it. They reported it as involuntary, and unpaid. My parents took out a loan against their house for me to pay it off, and they are still reporting that I owe then almost twenty thousand dollars! I surrendered the car about six months ago, and paid them off about four months ago, but my credit report shows that I owe them money, and I can't go buy a car anymore!

Do you guys reread what you write? The above post states, that the dealership CONNED them into making payments for over $500.00 a month and then goes right on to say-WAY OVER WHAT WE CAN AFFORD! Why did you agree? How is this the dealership or Honda Finance's fault? You knew going into buying that car it was too much. Cost of living did not rise THAT much over THREE months. Yes, a lot of people are struggling, but a business is a business. If you enter a contract, you should take it seriously and make sure you can meet the terms. I especially love the line-"Our credit was perfect until Honda...now, because of them, our credit is ruined". So you had no part in that? It's ALWAYS somebody elses fault nowadays. If you don't pay in time, after 30 days, you are reported to the credit bureau. They cannot pick and choose who they report. If you pay on time, you are not reported. End of story. Please, please, please-start being accountable for your actions and STOP blaming everyone else!

Honda Financial sucks. They really do. They start calling you nonstop if you are 3 days late - it's insane! Our dealership conned us into over $500 mo. payments on a lease, way over what we can afford, and we made them on time for the first 3 months. But then it was just too much - cost of living keeps going up and we can't afford the $500+ pymts. anymore. Have looked into lease swapping but the balance due is way over the value of the vehicle since we had to roll over a negative balance from our trade. I have called Honda Finance begging them to give us a few months to get caught up (I am self employed and have a big contract coming up), but they won't hear of it! They keep threatening to repo if we don't pay up in full. They won't even try to work with you. Our credit was perfect until Honda...now, because of them, our credit is ruined. They are real bullies I tell you. We are still trying to keep the car and get caught up in the time frame we gave them, so in the meantime, keeping the car in a locked garage behind a locked gate with a no trespassing sign. We make sure we aren't followed whenever we leave the house. It's ridiculous to have to live like this. Unbelievable!

I had a 06 Odyssey, been faithful at making payments when the economy went south. I own a business and was directly and quickly effected by the down turn. So became behind but was slowly catching up. Talked to their rude financial services personnel monthly, so as to stay in touch and not look like we were avoiding them. I had excellent credit going into this recession, but thanks to Honda Financial that is not so any more. With no warning or advise about what to do they come and take the van, mind you I am still trying to catch up the bill $400 behind and monthly payments $560. (so I am paying my payment + late fees + a little extra just trying to catch back up) After they take the van they will not tell me where the van is so as to claim personal property out I have to call the police to find out were it had been taken and that took 3 days because the repo company nor honda reported to the police in a timely manner. In the meantime when talking to honda they only want the full amount owed on the van. Well now I cannot get a loan, I had never talked to anyone about refinancing because I had a good rate with them and they never gave any idea that they would take the van. They then sent the van to a private auction so we had no chance of trying to get the van back.
Why would we want it back the van was in great shape we had taken good care of it and it had low mileage, make the van worth more. Well this could be tracked by honda because we got work done at the dealer. The van had just been in about 3 weeks prior for routine maintenance.
So what we feel happened is Honda is in the business of making money at any cost to the consumer.

1.They check to see the value of the auto through their honda service centers.
2. Check for any problem at all with the loan?(anything they can find to legally justify their side)(because if you are ever 1 day late at any time they can come and take the auto even if you are caught up on payments and all else is ok, you have breeched contract.)
3. Repo auto
4. Sell the auto at private auction were they can get more money and they have already checked this through their service centers when you take it in for service.
5. Make more than is owed on the original loan for the auto at the auction.
6. Make more from the original consumer by charging them enormous fees for repo, storage, preping for selling, etc.
7. WIN WIN for honda and the consumer gets SCREWED!
8. Honda has no heart.

So I will never use honda financial ever again. Because I feel I was taken advantage of. I had accepted all late charges and just wanted to get caught up and was doing so and was blind-sided by honda. If I had the money I would have hired an attorney and an investigator to prove my theory, but because of the economy I must choose to feed family :). Be aware of your terms with honda financial, find someone else who does not have the internal workings to be able to screw you like honda does. Especially if you take care of your auto.

We are doing better now and all honda had to do was probably wait another 2-3 months and we could have been caught up completely, and been back on track.

Had a 36 Month lease on 2006 Honda Ridgeline from April 2006 through April 2009. I purchased the vehicle using a loan from USAA in April 2009 and in August 2009 they billed me $119 for a fourth year of property taxes. I disputed the charge with them, but the $119 charge shows up on my credit report.

Moral #1: The documentation fee when you lease or purchase a vehicle is negotiable in most states.

Moral #2: Never finance through Honda Financial Services.

Moral #3: Never lease a vehicle.

Mr. Truth why dont you stop eating for a change? Maybe you've never known the feeling of hunger, but every day 20, 000 people die of starvation in the world.

But of course, in the USA it appears that for most people all that matters is money. However, I've changed my mind. I think I'm doing option #1, I really don't think Honda would do option #2 if the tables where turned. Then again, Honda could also file for bankruptcy if they get in trouble in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised, the gov. is bailing everyone these days, why don't we all file for bankruptcy?

I think I'm going to start from fresh.

Does anyone know of a good bankruptcy lawyer?

That's it, cased closed.

Honda Financial Services they are taking me to court for non-payment so they say

I got a new car from Honda 2005 I have been making payments I lost my job and made some payments late call them to find out how much I owed and they send me the letter stating what I owed even though I knew that the amount was more then what I owed I sent them the payment. They then sent me another bill stating that I was behind and that they wanted the car not the payments and that if I did not take the car to a dealership that they would put my son in jail for seven years for auto theft . While I was making payments they were calling my son and totally abusing him verbally, they belittled him in any way they could to see if they could push the right button to get me to return the car back. Unlike you I really did not use the car I left it in the garage because I knew that they just wanted to get the car. I then also filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency and asked them if they could put my son in jail. They told me it was a scare tactic and to continue to pay them so they had no reason to take the car. They have been sending some of my checks back and as it stands I am going to court 6/10/08 because they want to repo the car. They state that I am 442.95 behind and they have sent me checks totalling about 3, 500.00 so far in cks that I have not cashed yet. They are charging me for their stupid private detective and esq. fees according to them. What you all should do is file complaints with the consumer protection agency, and the better business b nothing else will work with this company. They are trying to treat their car loans like mortgages. They have lost their minds. What could the incentive be? I don't get it.

I log into my account, but the website does not download properly. I cannot make payments as the pages have the tabs but not the ability to access those tabs. It has been this way since the "upgrade" more than a month.

4/3/18. The customer representative named Brianna was extremely rude and combative during our phone conversation, didn't try to solve a problem, but instead was repeating same phrase over and over again, Refused to call her supervisor.

I would like to talk to someone who would be wiling to solve the problem.

I was not past due and turned in my car 2 months early. I paid the last two months the 20 something mile worth of overages and bought a new car. Now they want around $800 for repairs because the repairs total over $500 even though I have up to $1500 to be used in my contract for repairs. Their customer service is horrible and they never call you back and are just plain rude! One of the "Managers", Chris S told me they actually do not repair the cars just charge us for the repairs and then auction the cars off after turn in! Honda Financial is a scam!

You have two choices: 1) putting food on the table and paying rent or 2) helping Honda Financial Services stay in business

I choose number #2, and thats why I am eating only 2 meals a day and going through the worse time of my life. But, I love Honda so much I don't want the "fat cats" to go broke

But if you value your life more than I do, than take step number 1. Stop paying the fat cats and put food on your table, pay your rent, take care of your family. The Honda people dont give a ### that the economy is in shambles, they want to stay "in business"

If you do step number 1, than please do go to a lawyer (some charge $700 for bankruptcy) and declare bankruptcy. This should wipe away all your debt with Honda. But don't feel sorry for the "fat cats" they are TOO BIG to fail. Trust me, the US government loves Honda also, and they will probably pay your debt with other American tax payer money, just like they did with Lehman Bros, Bank of America, Washington Mutual, and all the other "fat cats"

Lets continue to make the "fat cats" rich!

yea! the american dream!

Why are 99.9% of the complaints against Honda Financial Services from people who were past due and failed to make payments in a timely fashion? Just out of curiousity, when you go to the supermarket, do they allow you to load up a couple carts of food, leave, and then make partial payments on the groceries you took? Didn't think so.
