Hello,
My name is [redacted]. I am writing to report an issue I encountered at the Chevron gas station this morning.
My 2020 Porsche 911 4s indicated that it had approximately 45 miles of fuel remaining.
I paid at the pump and entered my reward program number at the Chevron near me. However, I noticed that the pump speed was significantly reduced. I attempted to stop and restart the pump, but the flow rate remained low. It took me approximately five minutes to pump two gallons of premium fuel. Usually, this amount was sufficient to bring the fuel gauge down to approximately 60-70 miles of range, which was sufficient for my needs.
Upon starting the engine, I discovered that the fuel gauge still indicated 45 miles of fuel remaining. This was unusual, as the fuel gauge typically accurately reflects the amount of fuel in this vehicle's tank. I immediately reported the issue to the gas station operator. The cashier and the store employee who assisted me both tried to resolve the situation.
The employee advised me to drive a short distance, and the fuel gauge would begin to display the correct amount of fuel. This was unexpected, as my vehicle was not experiencing any mechanical issues and had only been driven approximately 10,000 miles. I followed the employee’s advice and drove a short distance, and the fuel gauge continued to decrease. It became evident that I had pumped air rather than fuel. I returned to the station within 10 minutes and explained the situation to the employee. She contacted her supervisor, and I also explained the issue to him over the phone. However, the supervisor refused to address the problem. All I requested was a refund or the refill of two gallons of premium fuel.
It is evident that there is an issue with the premium fuel pump (pump #11). I intend to request a refund from my credit card company. However, this matter is not solely about the financial aspect. It is concerning that the pump malfunctioned and that there may be fraudulent activity involved.
I hope that Chevron will take appropriate action to address this matter. I respect your business and the services you provide, but the way you represent yourself is also important.
Please see the picture I took after the manager refused collaboration. The exact time of fueling is on my credit card receipt.
The gas station address is:
4360 Roswell Rd.
Marietta, GA 30062
Sincerely,
