Captain D's - Service, food & overall appearance of store

Madisonville KY on Sunday, 04/03/2022 @ 5:27pm. I went I side to make a carry out order. I waited 20 min to get my order taken. 1 person taking care of drive thru & counter. Seems drive thru had priority over counter. 1 person preparing food. Bickering back & forth between these females with 1 in back calling other female "mom." Trays slamming, loud word exchange. Finally was waited on. My mother & I usually got "senior special" 1x/wk and was always allowed to substitute chicken for fish on the 1pc fish& 2pc chicken dinner. I asked and was abruptly told "No substitutions." Got my order & left. Chicken & fish were overcooked. Hush puppies hard as a rock. 7 French fries was the portion size.

Probably the worst food & service I've gotten there. These same people were working there the last 3x I was there with very similar situation & outcome. There was a younger male there that I assumed was an employee because he went into the area behind the counter & on to the back & told me that someone would take my order soon. After this happened once, I gave them another chance. Now, 3 more chances. Seems my business isn't valued. With the quality of food & service, this store won't survive much longer. In the past, the place would be packed on a Sunday @5pm. Today, 1 couple dining inside, 3-4 cars served in drive thru while I waited 20 min to be served & another 10-15 to get my order.

1 car in drive thru order total was $34.95 & customer paid with $100 bill. Employee had to check 2 cash register drawers to see if she had change. She found it but told customer if she didnt have enough change, they would have to take that $100 somewhere to get it broke & come back to get order. That's pitiful.

Never saw employee wash hands or wear gloves. Prominent display of a pack of cigarettes & cell phone poking out of back pockets. Place looked nasty & ceiling tile out of place in area behind counter.

Desired outcome: Refund or 2 complimentary dinner coupons. Post it if substitutions not allowed.Get customers waited on in a timely manner.
