I am writing this complaint against Jeffrey Bryan Campbell, DBA as Campbell Contracting (Alias’ Campbell General Contractors, and Campbell Construction), for the amount of $3000. I am kindly asking Any Other People who this man or his company have had their money STOLEN BY HIM, for a job that he took your money for, but NEVER FINISHED THE JOB, to PLEASE get in touch with Ashley Reynolds at KY3 999 W Sunshine St.

So the complaint I’m issuing is for a bathroom “remodel job”Jeffrey Campbell started in JANUARY of 2024 at the home of my 95 year old Mother! In JANUARY of this year (2024) My 95 yr old Mother wrote Jeff Campbell a check for $1500 as a downpmt. to do this job. I am her daughter, who lives w/her, along w/my husband. My mom’s Dr had basically “prescribed” this remodel. The shower in her master bath was 48 yrs old & Not in good working condition. That, Plus her Dr advised us that she Really needs an Aide to come in & help her w/bathing. So I contacted Jeff, who was a Supposed “Friend of the family” And the 1st one to sign the guest book at my father’s Funeral in 2015! I asked him if he would come to my mother’s house & remove the bathtub in the “Main/hall bath.” I wanted him to replace the tub with one of the walk-in shower kits you see on TV ads. They say they can complete the Whole job in Just One Day on TV!
Jeff asked for $1500 “Up Front” so he could Order the Shower Kit! She (my mom) wrote him a check, he left the house then & immediately went to his bank & Cashed the check. Then, a eeek or so later, my Husb & I asked him if he would Also replace the cracked glass door on the shower that’s in Her master bath too! Again, he said he’d need $1500, Before doing the work, to BUY the door! We wrote him a check from Our checking acct, because my mother is on a tight, fixed budget. Once again, he took the check, Left immediately - went to his bank, Cashed Our check & we didn’t hear from him for weeks! When he Finally Did show up to start the main bath redo, all he did was rip out the bathtub, put in On The SIDE OF OUR HOUSE, & then left & came back & laid the shower pan where it was to be installed properly (with adhesive) He Left a Hole in the floor, where the drain hole had been, & stuffed it w/a Rag! I asked for a catalog to choose the style, color, etc of the new shower. Jeff kept telling us he would “bring one by” for us to choose, but NEVER DID! His “helper”, whom we Later found out was his SON, showed us some pics of shower kits they had installed & we had to choose the style & Color from pics on his Phone! I chose an all white “tile look” style. Days turned into Weeks. We heard Nothing from him! He would NOT RETURN MY CALLS OR TEXTS! His voicemail box was conveniently Full, & couldn’t receive msgs, of course! When he Did bring the shower pan & laid it on the bottom of where the tub had been. He played it directly on the 8-10” Floor boards, stuffed the Drain Hole with the same rag & Left! That took about 3 minutes to do. Then he just LEFT FOR THE DAY! So by now, MONTHS had gone by, we Still had Nothing but a hole in our bathroom, with a plastic “shower bottom” and a Hole in the floor stuffed w/a Rag! I took out the rag to see if he had installed anything on the floorboards Between them & the shower pan & Dropped my little flashlight in the Hole-Down into the CRAWLSPACE of Mom’s house! Once again we called/texted. NO RETURN CALLS! NO WORK BEING DONE IN OUR HOME! My mothers nurse practitioner comes to the house once a Month, & every Month she came, she’d ask me, “how’s the Shower coming along?” I had to keep telling her, “IT’S NOT!” She was not happy, & of course neither were We! I forgot to say that he told my husband & me that he would install the cracked glass door FIRST, so we would have a place to shower since he had removed the tub! NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD ABOUT THAT $1500 40” wide shower door! (I shop at Lowe’s often & looked at Their replacement shower doors in that size & the Most Expensive one they Sold was $750…RETAIL PRICE! To this date, NOVEMBER THIRTEENTH, 2024 WE HAVE NO SHOWER DOOR IN THE MASTER BATH! And unless he knows that we even Got a shower door & had someone else install it-HE STILL TO THIS DATE HAS NO IDEA THAT OUR BATHROOM IS NOW FINISHED! But with a Lot more money out of our own pockets to buy the supplies he never brought to the house! He Did, between the months of Jan. & May, (I think) put up the “green board” where the shower panels were to be installed, had his Son paint on the “membrane” that’s Supposed to be applied with a Paint Brush until it’s Completely covered. About 1/8” coverage-per the plastic tub’s instructions! His son painted it w/a 3” FOAM ROLLER! I even let the guy use my Brand new paintbrush! The kind that has the short rubber handle that’s not so hard on your hands while painting! Then I asked the kid if he’d have time to paint the small 5’X 8’’ bathroom walls since they were really a mess from them tearing out the tub? He said yes. But I later went in the bath to find him painting the WALLS with a 3” foam roller! There was paint on our New matte black sink faucet, the new vinyl wood-look flooring, the ceiling, top of toilet too. He didn’t even bother to bend down & paint the bottom 1/2 of the “toilet wall!” That’s where a Lot of the damage had been done from cutting the steel bathtub out! He got the GREEN membrane All OVER the new shower pan, but I was able to scrape Most of it off before it had completely dried! They scratched the new vinyl flooring too when taking out the tub. I showed Jeff where. He laughed & said, “ Oh Sure!” It looked like a two yr old had been let loose w/a can of paint & a sponge! He left the house, saying he had to go to Lowe’s for Something, after working about 1 1/2 hrs. HE NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN-EVER! He left our Main bathroom looking like a Tornado had been thru there! My new paint brush laying-DRIED OUT on bottom of shower pan! Tape, Paper, the tub of the Waterproofing & crack isolation membrane left open, even stuff COMPLETELY COVERING THE TOILET STOOL & FLOOR! Tape, paper & trash on toilet, vanity & Covering the floor! I immediately called Jeff & told him what had happened! He DID return my call after I was Able to leave him a voicemail in a complete Panic/RAGE! He Assured me, his “helper” would be back to clean it up the NEXT DAY! He said he had “given him a Good talking to”. Well, of course, you guessed it, NOBODY SHOWED UP THE NEXT DAY & I had already cleaned up the “tornado mess” so we could at Least use the toilet & sink! I sent pictures of the mess to Jeff & he agreed that it was HORRIBLE LOOKING when he left & said he’d be right back!
Weeks later Jeff called & said he’d be here the next day to put up the panels-FINALLY! He Did show up, with ONE PANEL IN A GRAY MARBLE LOOK W/dark gray veins in it! I told him, “That IS NOT THE STYLE WE ORDERED! He argued w/me & said I was Wrong! That they don’t even Have a white tile w/black looking grout! Now Remember, his Son had shown me, from Another job they had done, the style, color, etc of what we ordered! His son stood there in that bathroom frantically Trying to find the PICTURE of what we had ordered! He Couldn’t FIND IT ON HIS PHONE & shrugged his shoulders & said, “I Must have ERASED IT! Meanwhile I had been in contact w/the Big Boss at the MAXX CORP! I told him about the shower pan being here. He told me to get the Sticker off of the pan, on the Upper left side of pan & SAVE IT! To make SURE the 3 panels he installed MATCHED THE SERIAL NUMBER AS THE SHOWER PAN! The One panel that Jeff Campbell had brought, and LEFT IN OUR BATHROOM, didn’t HAVE A SERIAL NUMBER ON IT! I again called the man at the MAXX CORP! He kept saying, calling me by my first name, since we had been in contact so many times by now, IT’S ON THE UPPER LEFT SIDE OF THE PANEL! I kept telling him, THERE WAS NO SERIAL NUMBER & that by Looking at it, it looked like it had Already been glued to something else! I told the MAXX rep there’s NO WAY FOR ME TO KNIW NIW IF THIS IS EVEN THEIR PRODUCT! He asked me to read him the serial number that was on the shower pan! Which I Did! He said, “they don’t even Stock that pan anymore!” I said, “so Where do you think it came from? It could be Stolen, bought from Anyone on Craig’s list or whatever! Jeff had TOLD ME HE ORDERED THE COMPLETE KIT THAT I HAD SHOWN HIM FROM HIS SO ‘s PHONE, PERSONALLY — — - DIRECTLY FTOM THE MAXX CORP! The man at MAAX told me “They don’t EVEN SRLL TO INDEPENDANT CONTRACTORS-ONLY BOG BOX STORES LIKE LOWES OR HOME DEPIT! I asked him, then Ehere could He have Bought the shower pan? He told me that Jeff himself Could have just gone to Lowe’s & bought it himself! BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THST IS, at LOWE’S THEIR COMPLETE 3 PIECE “Tub to Shower kit costs OVER $5000! How, then was Jeff able o say He ordered it for $1500 total? Jeff Campbell explained himself out of that by saying that the one panel he had brought out here & I said looked used by saying that the Glue looking stuff was where it was attached to the packaging! Ignorant me, Believed him! It Could have been! I THEN TOLD HIM THAT ONE OF THE “BIG GUYS AT THE MAXX CORP HAD TOLD ME THEY DONT STLL TO SNYONE BUT BOG BOX STORES! He said, well, He had called Someone there & they let HIM ORDER THE CONPLETE KIT FTOM THEM! An Absolute LIE! So by now, it’s JUNE 2024! My mothers NP is really getting upset ‘cause we had told her in JANUARY that he said it would only be a “couple of days job, & we Still have no way for an aide to come here to help my mother shower! So NEXT…. Jeff asked me, What if I just install a REAL TILE SHOWER WITH A SEAT & Grab bar for your mother? Floor to ceiling tile! I could go to Lowe’s & pick out which tile I wanted! I said OK! I picked out a WHITE 12” X 24” tile & wrote down the number of the tile, took pictures of it at the store & Texted all the info to him! He DID GO BUY IT & said they had to order it! The store then called ME to tell me to come & pick it up! I’m. CRAZY & PISSED OFF BY NOW-Of Course!’nnn
So Jeff did go get the tile & brought it to our house & put it in our garage! By now it’s AUGUST! And the tile is Still sitting in the garage! (He had, somewhere in between bringing the wrong MAXX panel & delivering the new tile, been here & plumbed in for the new shower head I had ordered from Amazon (and Paid for with Our money?) Finally he told me that he had a Great Tile Man that would be here ~ SOON, to install the tile! He said this guy would be much better at doing the tile work than Himself, as this was the guys “Real Profession!” I agreed & begged him to PLEASE HAVE HIM START ASAP! The tile man Did show up & did a Beautiful job installing the tile! He then explained to me that “actually he was Jeff’s COUSIN & they had just moved here from CA, & Jeff had called him & asked him to PLEASE help him out! The tile guy told me that he & Jeff “were not close at all. Matter of fact, that it was MOSTLY BECAUSE HE DIDNT APPROVE OF THE WAY THST JEFF WOULD JUST GO TAJE PEOPLE’s Downpayment for JOBS-Plural, & THEN NEVER SHOW UP TO FINISH THE JOB! After he had finished the tile work I realized that we would need to have the glass doors too! So WE ORDERED THEM FROM AMAZON, Again, ANOTHER EXPENSE OUT OF OUR OWN POCKETS! Jeff Campbell Had paid his (supposed to be unknown to me), Cousin to install the tile! But come to find out-SHORTED HIM $100 in Payment to his own family! I must add, in All fairness that in August 2024, I had sent a Text to Jeff & told him to “Just FORGET THE WHOLE THING! THAT I WOULD JUST SEE HIM IN COURT!” But then decided Not to stoop to his immoral level, & texted him Back & (STUPID ME!) Offered to give him ONE LAST CHANCE TO COME OUT AND FINISH THE JOB! (He had NO IDEA THAT WE HAD ORDERED THE DOORS & HIS COUSIN HAD INSTALLED THEM FOR US, Along with the SHOWER HEAD because he felt so bad for Jeff to have stolen our money like he Had from MANY OTHERS! Again, WE PAID THE COUSIN-The Tile Man, to install the glass doors we had ordered from Amazon! So…. TO THIS DAY, JEFFREY BRYAN CAMPBELL, DBA:Campbell Contracting, which shops “Not in Business”, other Alias’ CAMPBELL PAINTING, CAMPBELL’S GENERAL CONTRACTING, & CAMPBELL CONSTRUCTION. I Did file complaint w/The BBB, in May of this year. They said he’s Not a Member, but they would mail him TEO LETTERS, with 2 weeks in between letters to respond with His side of the story! No Response, of Course! And I called the City of Springfield, MO to see if he even has a Business License! They told me, NO, he Doesn’t, BUT IN MO YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE A BUSINESS LICENSE to be a Handyman, Plumbing, OR Electrical Work!?!?! Seriously?
I have Also attempted, MANY times, beginning on Monday, May 12th @ 4:06 pm, to call the MO ATTY GENERAL’S OFFICE! There was a recording saying that “Due to a High Call Volume, to leave my name and number & they would return my call! Well, today is Wed, Nov. 13,2024 & I haven’t heard a Word from the Attorney General’s office Either! And me final note: I was able to get in contact w/hi Wife on the phone & she told me we needed to be communicating via email, because he could listen to all of her phone calls! She talked to him & asked him to Please not Steal from a 95 yr old lady! He texted her back-which she Then FORWARDED HOS TRXTS TO ME! One of the texts to his wife About me says, “I didn’t block anybody (on his phone) That lady is nuts. She’s F-ing crazy. She begged me to come over & put a shower in for her so I did and she’s been a pain in the [censored] by changing her mind all the time so I don’t give two [censored]s about what she says or what she does! She’s got a mentally retardation problem she’s on Ridellan she’s on painkillers I have her on voice record (which you can’t do on any cell phones that I Know about), admitting everything she’s a bipolar, backstabbing [censored] I talk to her sister. Her sister told me to stay away from over there because she’s a troublemaker. That’s it. Bottom line. I’m not going to [censored] with it anymore. I don’t care about it. She’s a piece of [censored] she’s a fat ugly piece of [censored].”
THEN he sent his Wife a text saying, “And you need to quit texting me & bothering me. I’m trying to [censored]ing work.” Also, (someone, who I wish to remain unnamed) finally said to me, with his head bowed down, embarrassed. “Sheri, Do you know Where Jeff GETS THOSE Shower Panels from? THEYRE ON THE SIDE OF HIS HOUSE! THE WHOLE LENGTH OF THE HOUSE IS LINED UP W/THEM! I have No Idea Where he Got Them! Whether they’re Stolen, if he bought a whole “lot” of them or what, but you can drive by there right now & See all of them!” So what I am ASKING FOR, is would ANY & ALL OF Jeff CAMPBELL of Campbell Contracting, or Any of the aliases I’ve listed below, VICTIMS OF THIS KIND OF THEFT, PLEASE get in touch with Ashley Reynolds at KY3 TV “On your Side”?

On [protected], I paid $7615.00 for a garage addition to my property. I've repeatedly contacted the contractor via text and calls, but the work remains unfulfilled. I've been more than patient for the completion. The garage's total cost is about $21,475, including materials, labor, and permits. I either want the garage completed or a refund. A permit was obtained for $116.00 and a footer constructed.

I was asked to pay cash for the a/c equipment installation by Campbell Contracting. I did so before leaving town, assuming everything was fine. However, upon returning, I noticed a significant increase in my utility bill. It turns out that they didn't install the larger, more energy-efficient model as promised. When I confronted them about it, they lied and then blocked my number along with their dad. They completely took advantage of me. This man has almost 100 lawsuits against him and should be permanently shut down.

This company took $15,000 from us to do a job, but they never finished it. They claimed we had paid in full and promised to return to complete the work. The job was started in October , and despite our attempts to contact them through calls and texts, they never responded. Additionally, they still have the supplies we paid for and refuse to return them. They always come up with excuses for not finishing or returning. Furthermore, the contractor behaved inappropriately by trying to engage in a relationship with my daughter instead of focusing on the job. This behavior is unacceptable. As we are on a fixed income, we cannot afford to hire someone else to finish the work that still needs to be done. We simply seek justice and completion of the job.

We hired this company to remove and build a deck, put in sliding glass doors, a front storm door, repair and replace siding, and install a gate. They came and installed posts for the gate, but then they hired another person to do the deck. We gave them $5150 upfront for materials and paid $995 for the gate. The person they hired for the deck said he might leave because he had to pay for materials himself and still needed more. He also said that the company wasn't paying him as promised. So, we gave him an extra $2150 to finish the deck and not leave. I tried many times to contact the company to talk about the problems I had with the quality of the work. The owner doesn't answer calls or messages. This company didn't do the gate, sliding doors, siding, storm door, or light fixtures. They only completed about 20% of the work we hired them for.
