despicable customer service
We purchased five matching pieces of HANCOCK & MOORE leather furniture, with the " guidance" of their decorator, in 2004. She selected " Document" leather for this expensive purchase. After two years, the leather finish began to rub off. The H&M rep came to view our issue. He then sent the CABOT HOUSE serviceman out to "repaint" the worn leather and to replace the cushion matter, which was incorrectly ordered by their decorator. After "repainting", the serviceman SPRAYED the surface of the leather. (Hancock & Moore said that their leather should NEVER be sprayed). Shortly after this, our leather surface began to crack. The finish rubbed off even more profusely . Then spots of leather would actually lift off if anything slightly sticky would touch it. Today it is a total mess. Cabot House says that tihis disaster is just "normal wear" and they will neither take responsibility for their mistakes nor will they do anything to correct them. They even had the gall to suggest that WE HIRE a leather refinisher to redo our leather. Their customer service has proved to be nonexistent . Their decorating advice has turned out to be incompetent . Both have been the cause of more harm than good. We could not be more dissatisfied wit everything about Cabot House.
Nothing has been resolved. We have heard nothing at all. They have ignored this, just as they have ignored all of our requests for help with this problem.

They don't stand by their sales and they don't stand by their customers
We purchased an expensive Eastlake 50'' x 86'' Dining Table [[protected]] from Cabot House in Portsmouth, NH around 3 years ago. I was taking the umbrella out (just lifting it out) and the glass top exploded into a million pieces. I seriously don't think thisw was any fault of mine. Called up Cabot House and the sales rep told me the unit would be replaced, but that she needed to speak to her manager. Couple of days later I got a call and wss told the top would be replaced (as it should have been). Called two weeks later to check status and was told the sales rep had "changed his mind" and they wouldn't replace the unit.
This is supposed to be a top notch furniture store and a top notch line of outdoor furniture.
I would be very cautious purchasing ANYTHING from Cabot House. They don't stand by their sales and they don't stand by their customers. Netx time, Sears & Roebuck!
