I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable service, lack of communication, and improper billing I have experienced with BrightNow! Dental related to the fabrication and placement of a partial denture initiated at your Rohnert Park location.
In August 2025, Dr. Eric Bala took dental impressions for my partial denture on two separate occasions. I was informed that the prosthesis would be ready for placement shortly thereafter. However, around the time I expected to receive the denture, the front desk staff at the Rohnert Park office informed me — without prior notice — that both the location and Dr. Bala were relocating to Pinole, and that the Rohnert Park office would be closing.
I was given no reasonable alternative for completing my treatment locally. Instead, I was told that the only way to receive the denture I had already begun treatment for was to drive to the Pinole office. As a resident of Rohnert Park, this required traveling approximately an hour and a half each way. Despite the inconvenience and lack of communication, I made two separate trips to Pinole to retrieve the denture.
Unfortunately, the partial denture required several adjustments, and the adjustments performed were inadequate. The fit and function remain unsatisfactory.
Following these issues, I contacted my dental insurance provider, Principal, to report the situation. I was surprised to learn that BrightNow! Dental has invoiced me for $1,350 for the partial denture. Based on my conversation with Principal, it appears BrightNow! did not communicate the closure of the Rohnert Park office or the forced transfer of care to a distant location. This lack of communication has resulted in both improper billing and significant inconvenience to me as a patient.
I am requesting the following:
Immediate review and correction of the $1,390 charge, which I believe is inappropriate given the circumstances and the incomplete, inadequate care I received.
Documentation explaining why patients were not notified in advance of the Rohnert Park closure, and why no reasonable local alternative was offered.
A resolution plan to ensure that my partial denture is properly fitted and completed without additional cost or unreasonable travel burden.
I expect a written response within 14 days of receipt of this letter. I hope BrightNow! Dental will address this matter promptly and professionally.
